Great shot Dusty !!! I hope there aren’t many more ! Don’t take much for them to tear up a field . Princess Elinor knows she’s special and gets extra love !! It’s a wonder the Bison didn’t chase the pig away ! Loved seeing the Big Joe.. he wants his attention too ! Great job Dusty , protecting your land .
If there are no small calves then the pig is not a threat to the buffalo. And they eat different things, so no competition. Which means they don’t chase the pig. But pigs are disease vectors and can ruin a pasture. And they can have three litters a year, 9 to 15 in a litter
Dusty, you are in my grandfather's club, one bullet, one kill. Excellent marksmanship. He was a true hunter/gatherer, and had one rule of one bullet one kill. Eleanor is deserving of all the goodies she gets.
I get the feeling your bison are looking at you thinking, "Are you seeing this ? Are you gonna do something ? Or do we have to ? We're not sharing our cubes!"
Love your videos and enjoy watching them every time. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and the bison. You have the right to protect your bison
OK, did you look at the damage to the ground done by that pig? Dusty, cole,++++ have been working HARD to return his pastures to native plants which provide for native pollinators and original native grasses. This has been hard to bring back and the State staffers are working closely with Dusty to this goal. So, to you, this goal should be put aside for one feral hog? The restoration of native grass lands should be sacrificed for feral destructive hogs???? I am sorry, I do not see it this way. You would risk the health of all the bison for a disease carrying feral hog. What would you have Dusty do? How would you choose to have him resolve it? You heard there is 365/6 day of the year season on feral hogs. The key word here is feral. As he said; feral hogs can have 3 to 4 litters of upwards 8+ piglets yearly. Multiply that by hundreds of sows, that equals HUGE problems for all agriculture industry.
Great Shot!!! One less problem. Daniel is a great brother-in-law for sharing their equipment. We enjoy watching his channel also. We are loving our new Jerky and our new shirts! Thank you. Wearing and enjoying them in Washington State.
The bison didn't trust the wild pig as they kept chasing it away. Good job!!! Your brother in law has an awesome wild boar trap. You are doing your best to protect your livestock.
You do what you have to , to protect your Bisons your land and where they graze your also helping your neighbors land . Wild hogs have been known to destroy farmers crops and grazing land for cattle and other livestock . So good for you ❤❤ May God continue to Bless you and your Family , and give sweet Eleanor a few extra cubes ❤❤❤❤
Great job getting the pig. Eleanor is so precious. Always love seeing you give her special treatment. Big Joe says thanks for getting that pest out of our pasture. GOD bless Y'all.
Thanks for sharing Dusty. Your channel is wonderful to watch. I've learned so much about bison, Oklahoma and conservation from you. I live in an area that's on the outside of a town but we are surrounded by woods. Several years back, a local farmer's hog got loose and came visiting in our yard. My then teenage son and his buddy thought it was great fun to watch him. In about 10 or 15 minutes he'd rooted up half of our backyard. I promptly had them chase him back to the woods. They followed him and he went back where he belonged. I couldn't believe the amount of damage done in that short period of time. Though I'm not one for hunting, I'm glad you got him. God bless!
Fine shot. People don't understand about hogs, even a lot that have some knowledge about livestock. I live in an RV since hurricane Michael in Florida. Decided I like being able to move every year or so, and usually find some place away from towns. Lived on a place where the owner had a cow on nearly half an acre of land, pet, bottle fed then over feeds it after full grown, to heavy to be healthy but he won't listen. Decided he wanted a boar hog so he came along with a 20-25 lb one. Told him the pasture would be gone in a week, better order more hay from the store he goes to instead of local farmers. Drunk know-it-all said I didn't know what I was talking about. 10 days later he was unloading a load of bales and bag feed, mentioned knocking off rent if I'd help out with the feeding. Told him I was moving.
Woo hoo what a shot Dusty, hope you get the other/others, that pig certainly was brazen and wasn’t afraid of the bison, lovely to see Princess Eleanor and the main man Big Joe up close, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Love how the bison were like “heck no. You aren’t allowed to root up our pasture”. Great shot! Eleanor is looking good! Love to see her come up and follow you. She’s patiently waiting. So sweet. Big Joe is so funny. Just a giant puppy! Those feral hogs are awful. And then there are some crazy super hogs in Canada and Northern US states that are even more destructive and dangerous. Glad you got this one.
Good job Dusty!!! Our hogs got out of their pen one time & got in with our cattle!!! Our cattle tromped a sow & killed her!!! They all got along with the fence between them but when they actually got in with the cattle they didn't like it at all!!! She was one of our most productive sows but animals are animals!!! Love Y'all & God Bless!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That was awesome, nice shot! Beautiful Eleanor knows what she’s doing, but so does Big Joe. I love watching how he just comes through the rest of the group and right up to you and the truck. He’s saying “I pushed him towards you so you could get a good shot “ 😂teamwork makes the dream work. Those pigs are so destructive.
I really admire your knowledge and professionalism and how you work hard to educate your viewers. Thank you. I'd like to hear your comments about the wildlife/human encounters that keep happening at Yellowstone. I think some people think they're living in a virtual reality world.

Have watched David Ellis: Yawt Yawt and he shows the damage the pigs do and why he traps them. Fields and fields totally destroyed. Good that you got him. I've read there are tens of thousands in TX. Glad you protected Jackie- those pigs are nasty.
Dusty, you're so sweet, everything about you is sweet. Love when you talk about and to your bison. Nice shot with the pig, it's sad to see any animal die or get killed but life happens and you have to protect what is yours, that pig really did a job on your land. We have them here in Florida also.
Happy New Year Dusty to you and all the family, Nice shot ! We have wild boar through the high country down here in Australia an absolute pest. Hope you’ll process it in some form. Well done! Where do you bring the chickens in when the temperature drops to -20F Friday? Do the kittens and Jackie have a spot too? How about your horse? I know the bison are more comfortable in the cold than the summer heat and flies. I am assuming the wild hogs are too wormy to harvest. Will the coyotes take him or are there buzzards, falcons or eagles that command first dibs? Crows? Trail camera on the carcass would be very interesting. Do owls scavenge, or do they stick to live rodents? Do you harvest deer from your property? Do you ever take the Winnebago out to your fields in the winter? Would you use the Winnebago to stakeout and cull wild pigs? I hope you, your family and all your vulnerable animals stay safe in this record cold spell . May your pipes stay unfrozen and all your motors start.
If you're a skilled hunter, you use extra caution with intestines & colon. Either of two areas of puncturing are the problems while breaking down the carcass. As for leaving carcasses, you don't want to encourage other predators to eat on your land. It puts your livestock in more danger long term. Terminate the immediate danger and dispose of carcasses elsewhere legally.
Well you have to get rid of the predators and the land they destroy and cause holes that your bison can end up breaking a leg. It’s good to show the bad too. That’s part of ranching

I think the way you care for your animals is to be commended. Miss Eleanor is definitely the Queen and Big Joe the King.
Eleanor deserves to be spoiled. She is a beautiful Bison. Thank uou for posting.

This is awful. That poor pig had every right to live. I hope you're not using the bison for food. Is that why you're caring for them?
That poor pig has a gazillion family and friends that would soon invade his pastures 🤦♀️

Doss Farms had two of their pigs get out. One like the one you just caught and another smaller a pot belly pig, red paint. 😮
Dusty, wild pigs carry all types of diseases like hepatitis and most dangerous is brucellosis. Humans, pets and livestock can get it.
Well done, Dusty! You have to defend your farm and the animals. Well done.
