I appreciate how nicely you speak to Melissa when under all this pressure. You never raise your voice or yell at her when she’s saying “I can’t” or whatever and that shows us all how you can keep your cool and show her how to do the task at hand. You’re a good husband Dusty. You treat your family well. ❤
Yes, I've too appreciated the respect you give each other. In a world that sometimes seems upside down crazy, there is love & respect on your ranch. You risk your neck, to give all you can find inside you, to help your animals. These are dangerous situations sometimes, & you still understand & respect their right to be anxious & nasty. You are great caretakers of them all. I'm intimidated by their size personally, but I'm so impressed by your spirit of, "I'm responsible for these guys...& all the babies!" Good on you guys! This loss is very hard to reconcile, but your efforts are not a loss!❤
You gave 110% to try to save the little one. Don't beat yourself up. You did your best like you always do. Raising animals is an adventure no matter what they are. We have raised rabbits, chickens, hogs and steers. We've had them do well and had to make decisions when things went wrong. Goes with the territory. You guys are wonderful with your animals. Take care and hope you have better day tomorrow. God bless!
Yes, i love the way that they not only care for them, but they respect them! I cannot help but think God will honor that. He is learning hard lessons of love and trust. He (they) will make it with character through all the tough time ahead. I am so proud of them!
Great channel Dusty! Thanks for not sugar coating raising livestock. Here in NC been unbelievably hot this summer. Hate the momma lost her calf but your compassion for the herd is amazing.
It's amazing to see how incredibly strong the maternal instincts are with this cow, considering how young she is, this being her first calving, she was NOT willing to let her baby out of her sight. So sad he didn't survive but this is life out on the range.
I am so sorry for your loss. You did everything you could to save that baby. You guys are great people to do what you do with these amazing animals. Bison ranching is not an easy way of life but you can be proud of yourself knowing you are killing it!!!
Almost a wild animal😅😅😅 raising these Buffalo for-profit AKA slaughter? Your mr. Do-it-yourself doesn't know anyting to the degree that qualifies you twerk with Buffalo because you lack the brain matter
I'm glad you gave it a try. I wouldn't expect anything less from you. Anybody who watches your channel knows you are very compassionate to all the animals.
Thank you Dusty and Marissa for doing everything you could possibly do to save your red dog. Thank you Doc Parsons for always being available with your professional advice. And thank you Jared and Joelle for being there to help Dusty, Marissa, and their red dog. God bless all of you and the bison. 💜🦬🦬🙏🏻
They are truly amazing people. We were so sad about the outcome, but raising animals is not always easy, the challenges allow us to grow and learn. We are thankful for the ability to learn alongside Dusty and Marissa and appreciate their dedication to what they do.
I’m so sorry about the loss!! Everyone worked so hard to save the little one. That was pretty intense from watching, I can’t imagine how it was doing it.
So sorry for your loss. You did such a heroic effort for that calf. It is one of the many lessons and experiences in raising your bison. We all wish you well! ❤
I grew up on a farm in Eastern Ks. One of our neighbors raised bison. My dad would help out at their ranch sometimes. They had a calf that was born sickly and they told my brothers if they could keep it alive, they could keep it. My brothers, being only about 10-13 y/o, stayed in our barn with that calf, through the night. Unfortunately it died early that morning. My sister and I were only about 6-7 years old and I think we were as heartbroken as my brothers were.
I'm a Kansas girl too. Don't see too many 🦬. Three or four in the only "herd" I know of. Several people have one or two. Certainly, unless your name is Ted Turner, you have to visit sites like this to ground yourself in yesteryear's lifeblood.
Thanks for not pulling any punches on how hard it is to raise these majestic animals. You are an honest, ethical and caring rancher. Keep doing what you're doing and God be with you, Marissa and your herds.
It’s been a rough summer but this season of heat is out of your control. Praying for relief and a snowy winter so they can romp in the snow. The videos of Dunbar and the herd a few years back was a sight to behold. They were like children seeing their first glimpse of snow 🥰🥰🥰
Global warming is real and it will affect all of us. Don't listen to the lies from the magats. We have to work together and do everything we can to clean the
I'm so sorry you lost your little red dog. Y'all tried so hard to save the little guy. I admire the love and care you give to your animals. I'll keep you and your family and my prayers and of course the bison too.
I’m sorry for the loss of the red dog. It has been a very difficult summer calving. The fact you did everything you could shows the care you have for all your animals.
You gave it your all, Dusty. Good on you for trying to help that newborn calf. I'm very sorry for your loss, and it has indeed been a rough spring/summer for you this year. You and Marissa have been doing a wonderful job of rolling with the punches this season has brought you. That cow did her best to be a good mama. A huge shout out to your guests who jumped right in and helped in an emergency. Being bone dry like he was, he'd been there for a while in the building heat. God bless you folks.
Crying...you did everything you could...again...the poor momma...the sadness in these circumstances...the joy in others...all part of the whole picture. TFS❤
Dusty, I love the way you are putting the truth out there. No cutting corners. The good the bad and the ugly. Seeing your family do everything you can, never giving up
What a heart breaking ending to such an action packed event. I held my breath through almost the whole thing. Dusty your heart is as big as those Bison. Such a valiant effort on behalf of that momma and her lil man.
God Bless you Dusty. Absolutely nobody could ever say you don't give your all to those Bison. You and your new friends risked life and limb trying to save that little baby. It just wasn't in the cards. Thank you for keeping it real on your channel. People need to see that raising these animals isn't a walk in the park. You have a special kind of heart. Don't ever change. We need more men like you in this world.
You all did great trying to help this baby n mom!! These people were great people to help you out!! You all did 110 % to help this baby bison !! Love n Blessings
So sorry to hear about the loss of another red dog. You did all you could for that little one and apparently it wasn’t his time to live. What an adventure you took us on to get him up to the barn. Exciting and still heartbreaking to have him to pass. Thank you for taking us on your adventure today at the Ponderosa !💕

I am so so sorry that the little guy didn't make it. You are awesome with your care and love of your bisons. Thank you for all you do and for sharing it with us.
So sorry you lost this beautiful baby. 🐾❤️🐾 You definitely did all you could possibly do. Don’t beat yourself up! Love your videos and your transparency. 💖❤️💝
So very sorry about the red dog. Thankful no one was hurt and grateful you had friends there to help resuce the baby. You did all you could. My heart goes out to you and Marisa.💖
God Bless everyone at the Cross Timbers Bison Ranch and friends. Each of you did everything you could to save the little red calf. Don't beat yourself up. Each of you worked as hard, as fast, and as safe as each of you could. 🙏 💕
I'm so sorry for another loss of a little red dog, I appreciate that you and Marisa always share the realities of Bison ranching. I pray things go up from here, for the bison and for y'all. God bless 🤍
Dusty and Melisa I’m so sorry for the loss of the baby bison. You two are incredibly compassionate about your animals and it is always so sad to lose a baby.
You worked so hard to try and save that calf. Sadly, it didn't live. To lose three in the same year after having so many healthy babies, this year and in previous years helps all of us realize how amazing the miracle of birth really is. And how things can go wrong. I'm glad you had help from the other couple and Marrissa. Thanks for keeping us updated on the good and hard parts of bison ranching.
I AM SO SORRY DUSTY FOR THE LOSS OF THIS BABY BOY. YOU MADE A GALLANT ATTEMPT TO TRY AND SAVE HIM. I THOUGHT THE MOMMA WAS GOING TO JUMP IN THE LITTLE TRUCK A FEW TIMES. I WAS CLINCHING MY SEAT FOR SURE, WOW.
@@jessehachey2732 And you need to calm down and be less rude. Not everyone is so informed and as critical as you are about simple mistakes. Few can attain your level of perfection, so you are likely to stay pissed at the world and that is not good for your blood pressure.
It’s definitely a learning experience. Hopefully, your wisdom and experience will help others along their journey. I never knew about Bison and your channel until I saw Daniel( Arms Family), coming to help you one day in his video, work the bison for their shots and things. After that, I was hooked. You and Marissa are a great team together! Love your channel.
So sorry for your loss. You all did everything you could. You and Marisa care so much for these beautiful animals. I'm glad you had extra hands there to help.
Dusty I'm terribly sorry for y'all and the red dog that was lost. Jarred and Joelle are absolutely amazing for jumping in there and helping you. Everyone has to understand that this is a part of the natural way of life. I'm a father who has lost a son at Birth and my understanding of the way nature is, is a little bit more clearer than most. It's still a loss and still terribly heartbreaking. But it only makes us stronger. God bless you, Marissa, Jared, Joel, and the whole Cross Timbers bison Ranch. Take care I love y'all and those animals
Having raised horses I know that feeling. You did everything you could. It was breaking my heart watching that valiant cow, bless her heart. I respect and admire you and your family’s commitment to your animals. ❤
Dusty and Marisa, you two always do your best with your bison 🦬🦬🦬. I am so so sorry this happened to you. No one can ever understand loss I feel for you both. ❤❤
I’m sorry for the loss of the red dog. But this was probably the best learning experience for your visitors to see how different they are than cows in a stressful situation. ❤
There was something more wrong with the calf than you know is wrong. When you share the good and the bad and this time you did the best you can do for them Dusty I love ❤️ what you and Miress do for the Bisons the are wonderful amazing animals ❤ you and your family!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You guys performed above and beyond what was possible to help the Mama and baby. You have an amazing documentation of the strength of the mother's attachment to her baby. Wow. You guys showed your true strength of character in trying to save the red dog. My heart goes out to you.
I am just a city girl who loves animals. I'm sorry things didn't work out with this little guy. God bless you for giving it your best effort. In the end that's all you can do, sometimes they just get called home before we'd like. Continued blessings for you and your herds.
I cried the whole time. I have never been able to handle bad things happening to babies or animals, so I share your pain; but I’m thankful for you sharing.
I appreciate when you tell stories, Dusty. It will be good when we can all get back to happier stories. I prefer your honesty, the real day to day life over a sugar coated half story. I hope your friends take up bison raising. They surely have the straightforward willingness. Blessings of Abundance in all that you may need & healthy red dogs & Mommas. ❤️
Bless you all for doing the very best you could for this little baby and his Mama. I love watching your videos as you tell it “like it is”! You do a fantastic job raising these Buffalo and you do it with love and truth of stories. Thank you and please, sleep better! Knowing you tried your very best! Bless you all! Sincerely, LCB
Love watching your journey - because you care and give your animals the best care you can. Thank you for being you. I grew up on a farm and know how much it costs - when you care about the animals- and not just the money. God bless you.
Here's a big virtual hug for you all! Also, prayers of comfort for your heavy hearts. It's always hard when you love your animals and have such a passion for raising them. It's not hard to see how much you tried to do all you could do. Bless you all! ❤️🙏😥
You really showed your awareness when you explained the difference between your bison and bison in Yellowstone. As a retired teacher, i am aware of your willingness to teach us. Sometimes people at church ask me how my bison are doing 😊
Dusty you are such a gentle kind man & you did everything you could to save this little red dog. Nature is a funny thing & although sad this little bull was not meant to be. Take comfort in yourself that you did everything you could to save him. You truly are AMAZING & take pride in your never ending knowledge you get from Doc. The bison are so blessed to have you ❤ How wonderful to see how much you truly care.
I’m so sorry that you couldn’t help this little guy. You tried and did what you all could do. You having friends there to help you and understood what needed to be done from their own experiences. As you grow you learn more and more. You and Marissa are very caring and take such good care of your bison.
I am so sorry you lost the bull calf. You guys worked so hard to save it. It's just heartbreaking I know. You guys worked as fast as you could and there wasn't anything else you could do. Are you guys due to have any more calves any time soon? Thanks for sharing this experience with us. Y'all are wonderful people. A truly awesome family and ranchers raising Bison 🦬 God bless y'all always 🙏💜🦬💕
Marissa and Dusty You did everything you could to save that red dog and comfort his Momma, remember that. I am sorry for your loss. How is the Momma doing now? ❤
So, so sorry for the loss of this little red dog. May God bless you for your efforts with many healthy little ones in the future. Y'all put your heart into trying to save this one. We know that your love your herds and do everything possible to keep them safe and healthy. Your efforts make you stronger and wiser in the days ahead. Always remain a kind and caring person.
I'm a city boy, but I really enjoy your channel and your stories as you raise these classic American animals. You made the best decision, it just didn't work out. But the lessons learned help you move forward in the future. I can see the love you have for your family and your animals. That is why I keep coming back to your channel. I love when you share your adventures.
You did your very best. It was a hard first-time experience for your friends, but they got their feet wet in a hurry, no sugar coating. It was also fortunate for you and Marissa that they were with you and had some experience with cattle. It is a part of life. We,who watch your channel, share your sorrows as well as your joys. I appreciate your respect for the bison and for the cleanness of your videos. Be true to yourself and your own integrity. 😊❤
My heart goes out to you all. You take excellent care of those animals with a lot of passion. Hang in there. Will be saying a prayer for rain and cooler temperatures.

I have just recently found your videos and have become a subscriber. I can tell, and not just through this video but others as well, what a man of compassion and integrity you are. I was so hoping for the best for this little animal and was heart broken with the outcome, but you did everything you could do. Your love for what you do, for your family and friends, and the animals that you have there is so evident. It is so nice to see the real life workings on the bison farm, the good and the bad. Thank you. We will continue to celebrate and cry with you, and hope for all the best in what you are doing. 🇨🇦
What a sad situation. You handled it the best way possible and I’m sorry it didn’t work out to a save. You are so real and we learn the truth and see how difficult it really is. Thank you for sharing.
Omg. I can’t stop crying. All of you did so much for this little guy. What a heartwarming attempt to save him. I am so sorry. You both have so much good in you May God bless you always ❤❤
So sorry Dusty to hear about the lost of another red dog. Thank you and Marisa for sharing your bison with us. I look forward to your videos and have learned a lot. I have always loved the beautiful bison. Sending prayers that y’all get rain soon. 🙏🏼🌻❤️
So sorry you guys had such a day. What a blessing that you had those folks visiting. They really came thru. As for you and Marissa......you two were calm, focused. And full of LOVE❤️ for your bison. Truly an example to all humans who chose to take on the care of an animal. Be out a hamster or bison. You guys are the epitome of commitment and I thank you for sharing this with the world. NAMASTE
You did an amazing job trying to save this red dog bull calf Dusty, so very sorry he passed. Mama was so determined to get her baby, but nature is sometimes cruel. Thank you for taking us on your journeys ❤
Thank you for being so transparent in sharing this story. You tried and not everyone would have done that, regardless of the animal. I'm not a farmer and don't have livestock. But I do have domesticated animals. I know ow the pain of losing an animal. My heart goes out to you and Marissa. That other couple will also never forget their visit to your ranch. They knew instinctively that had you been at their place with the same situation with one of their animals, you would have jumped in to help also. Your care for the bison is what led me to subscribe. I'm new to your channel but I look forward to each video. Thank you for caring and I'm so sorry for your loss of that red dog. Take care.
Seeing this is absolutely amazing!! So very sorry for the loss of a beautiful calf. Y'all did everything you could do. You are so dedicated to your herd. It's obvious how much they mean to you. I only recently came across your site, but, now watch as much as possible. As heart breaking this was, there had to be a reason. Like you said Mom was young and the heat is so hard on these animals. Bless y'all and the work you do with these majestic animals!! Love the videos!!

Genuinely sending love and support to all four of you who worked so deeply from your hearts for this calf and his momma.
I’m so sorry this happened but your caring heart and determination shows the love you have for your bisons. Such a caring person that you are. 💙
What a stressful time for everyone plus the bison! That couple, they have been imprinted into your lives. It's a heart-wrenching episode.
So sorry Dusty. You did your best to save that baby.
Prayers for health and safety!🙏❤️🙏
I appreciate when you tell stories, Dusty. It will be good when we can all get back to happier stories.
I prefer your honesty, the real day to day life over a sugar coated half story.
I hope your friends take up bison raising. They surely have the straightforward willingness.
Blessings of Abundance in all that you may need & healthy red dogs & Mommas.
❤️
Bless you all for doing the very best you could for this little baby and his Mama. I love watching your videos as you tell it “like it is”! You really showed your awareness when you explained the difference between your bison and bison in Yellowstone. As a retired teacher, i am aware of your willingness to teach us. Sometimes people at church ask me how my bison are doing 😊
I'm so sorry for your sad loss. That couple being there was a God Send! You couldn't have done it without them.

So sorry about the calf. Thankful that you are so kind hearted. You guys are precious and I feel sure that there are good things in your future.
Dusty, so sorry for the loss. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Don’t blame you at all for what y’all did to try to save that red dog. You guys are amazing ❤ love you all
Thank you for being so transparent in sharing this story. Take care.
