Transmission and engine DIY repairs make me very nervous. Mostly because one little error and you I could kiss the entire component goodbye. Hopefully one day I'll have the skill to tear down the transmission and fix some issues myself. For now I practice doing easier stuff like replacing suspension, brake and steering parts and performing regular maintenance. I was thinking about installing the 6F25 Zip Kit on my 2013 Ford Fusion, but so far my transmission has been behaving nicely, so I'm going to put those plans on hold for now.

So $200 for the zip kit, and $2,000 for labor. How many hrs of labor does that install take?

i suspect an ref522a isn't' this bad the valve body is much smaller and simpler. i was hoping you'd show if the zip kit includes the special drill bits for oversized valve spools that some of them have.

That's funny. Before you even said it, I figured that's got to be a challenge for anybody.
I'm messing around with a 4R75 valve body from an f150 - which seems like a toy compared to this thing.

The amount of valves and solenoids is purely overwhelming in this valvebody... I thought having done a few dodge transmissions and shift kits etc that it couldn't be that bad but you have shown me other wise...

I've got a shift flare between 3rd and 4th gear only when cold on my 2007 ES 350 with the U660e transmission. Any recommendations to help rectify this condition?

Getting ready to install zip kit in a 6r140 are the rubbers reused with the new accumulator pistons and springs?

dang this thing has 10 check balls? my 6f35 only has 3.
im having tons of fun rebuilding my 6f35. i dont mean that sarcastically either. its quite an enjoyable experience.
people make it sound so hard but you just take it one carefully calculated step at a time and its eventually over. so far its the most fun i've had in awhile.
i need to find the root problem of my no forward issue and test the valve body components for any possible issue while im at it.
i was thinking of doing a sonnax zip kit or transgo maybe both just as a precautionary to help prevent more common issues in the future.
seeing my car move forward after all this is going to be satisfying as heck.
seriously I'd rebuild a trans all day instead of doing my day job.

Hi in one of your comments you mentioned a "burnt c2" as the actual fault, can you please tell me what is a "c2" and where it is located?

On AB60F Valve bodies or this particular valve body do you prefer Zipkit or the transgo kit? Just curious

Thank you very much, sir, for this video. I am a DIY but when it deals with transmissions, I really think twice about doing this kinda work. It's hard to find honest shops here in south Texas these days which is the reason I'm trying to figure this out myself. I've tested all the solenoids resistance and added voltage to see if I hear the click, everything seems fine. I still get one code, P0761. Symptom, it gets stuck in 3rd almost every morning. Once the tranny gets really warmed up, I turn the car off/on and works perfectly fine after that. During winter time though its practically useless as it will not get out of 3rd until the car has been warming up for over 30minutes, crazy! so in a nutshell, Yes I'm looking into getting this kit to see if this shift problem in the mornings would take care of the problem but now I'm really spooked lol

I've been at this for years. That car just came back yesterday with the same issues it had when I put the ZipKit in. The available data is so little and the baud rate so slow, diagnosing theses cars is a real pain in the rear end. Have fun with it. If and when I figure it out I'll post another video. I have a feeling that it's electrical.... Thanks for watching!

You may have. There was a burnt c2 in that unit. The owner had it flushed so I couldn't smell it! The kit is good and makes them drive nice if everything else is good.

Richard Wardell oh okay, in about 2 weeks or so I’ll be doing the sonnax zip kit on my 2011 BMW 328i GM 6L45. I already replaced the solenoids and sleeves, but still have the same symptoms: it flares throughout most gears in the morning and then settles off after warming up.
I heard you should do a transmission reset and adaptations afterwards - is that two different things or the same thing? And if needs to be reprogrammed can it be done with the icarly app?

@@HG-bl7ue sorry man I don't do European cars. Too much trouble......

    • @HG-bl7ue
      @HG-bl7ue 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Richard Wardell I totally understand, this is my first and probably last euro car. I pretty much had to replace all gaskets and plastic coolant hoses., but is typical for the year and mileage 89k.
The transmission however shouldn’t be flaring with only 89k miles.
It is a GM transmission and used widely across other same sized American vehicles. Probably why sonnax makes it too. Well I’m hoping that the flares do go away after the kit installation. I also wonder that if it doesn’t if the kit becomes obsolete or can be transferred over to the donor transmission 🤔 but hopefully I do t have to go that route.

@@rdick218 maybe you should get a leak tester and save yourself the trouble of replacing valve parts unnecessarily.
