Idk, I have hope you’re right but the original collectors edition of elden ring had Malenia as the statue and she was the true secret boss, so if they’re following the same path, the same could be said for Messmer
@@MrTweety4587 While that is true they usually never show the true final boss of the DLC in the trailer. Think of stuff like Artorias/Maria who were poster-people of their DLC and the final final bosses Manus/Orphan not being showcased anywhere before meeting them.
It's likely Messmer or one of them shown, or they will show it a few weeks before release like they did for DS3, showing a glimpse of Gael before the DLC came out.
That lion creature boss looks like the dragons used in traditional Chinese New Year celebrations. You can see some sort of humanoid figure inside the beast, moving the jaw and stepping around. The creature may have been some sort of Omen that was slain and then built into this horrific puppet abomination, with the user cloaked within. Absolutely wicked.
The ‘Impalers catacombs’ in the weeping peninsula has a ghost near by that says “O Marika, Queen Eternal. He is your unwanted child.” Messmer is the unwanted child of Marika and radagon, therefore brother to Miquella and Malenia
The dog that looks like Serosh is I’m guessing Miquella’s version of maliketh/blaidd. In the lore, Ranni, Miquella, Malenia, and Marika all have them. Marika’s being Maliketh and Ranni’s being Blaidd
i know that lol. i never said serosh was a shadow. the dog thing that looks like serosh may be miquella's shadow. but now we know its not after people breaking it down@@jasonbelcho8609

@@itzzvoid-8127 Radahn and Mohg, And then somehow you’ll be able to access the dlc. I made a new character a week ago and currently have almost everything in the game so im hyped lol
I think it’s a similar world as when you enter Godweyn’s realm and fight Fortissax. What we play is like a mind realm of Miquella and is maybe his ideal world. The erdtree that we see is just his completed version of what he was building in the mountaintops of the giants.
The tree is ‘eclipsing’ the other one (castle sol) Miquella wanted to use the ‘eclipse’ to try to give godwyn his soul back. Although there is a lot to do with the crucible in the trailer so the tree could also have something to do with that
My theory is that the entire DLC is a dream realm created by miquella. if you look at the lion boss it has features from mohg, margit, and sarosh combined, sort of like in a dream where things can combine together if you think about all of them. Maybe miquella died in our world but hes trapped inside of the dream realm he made.
I think the person at the beginning is the one speaking at the end about touching the withered arm to enter the shadow realm, it could be the spirit of miquella or someone aligned with him to help in whatever miquella is trying to do there.
The rumor about Q1 still holds. The financial year in Japan is between April to March. So the DLC is releasing in Q1 according to the Japanese Financial Year.
What’s crazy to think about is, this is Fromsofts biggest expansion, and I say expansion because it is, with it being 40 dollars, not including tax. To get a better understanding, their previous expansions were around 10-20 dollars, with the average being 15 dollars. This is looking to be the best dlc of the year, I cannot wait
U introduced me to elden ring and your gameplay and videos made me buy it and I have now platinumed it twice, so watching you react to this gets me hyped for u to play the dlc. Thx for introducing me to such an amazing game jev
That lion faced thing with multiple people's legs reminds me of the dragon dances in Chinese culture where multiple people work together to make a giant costume dance
I am so happy to see Jev stick with the From Soft content. Keep this shit coming, amazing content. Love to see the lore references. This isn't just "popular youtuber plays popular game".
im sure some other people have said this , but messmer is likelu referring to the tarnished in his line. Hes essentially saying “mother, would you really allow someone with no grace to become the elden lord”?
by the dialogue of Messmer, it sounds to me that the Shadow Realm is sort of afterlife/hell for those who went against the Golden Order/the erdtree. And its not something Miquella wanted but obviously was not her choice
theory what if when marika pulls the strands out of the womb thing that is actually the pregnant lady in the first dlc trailer and the old man from the painting is her dad witch means she is pulling the gold hair from her sibling in the womb wich turns out to me miqula and that’s how he is cursed with youth because his sister stole that part of him and he is actually melanie’s uncle
messmers design has some dragon characteristics, such as the wings all over. his eyes are also similar to the half dragon races (i forget the name) eyes. but the eyes could also just be snake eyes considering the other snake aspects
“With newest time and fallen memories let the branches of our tree grow with malice and blood with that you will know the shadow that is casted upon you”
I've seen a theory floating round that Mesmer is Miquella because of Miquella is essentially one big Griffith reference. The Souls games are always referencing Berserk and Miquella is seen as a perfect and gorgeous being just as Griffith was but just like Griffith his "love" became corrupted and caused him to sacrifice everything to ascend to greater heights just as Griffith did in the eclipse. Miquella is Griffith just as Mesmer is Femto
The weird thing to me is messemer has the same hair as melania, bringing me to think this is in some way related to the twins or is in fact miquella himself. I’m exited to see in what way Marika (Jev kept saying miquella when referring to queen marika I think) plays a part in this dlc, especially given the lore of queen marika. Gonna finish my current run then start a new build for sure, so excited for the reboot of this series on this channel, Jev is hands down one of the best elden ring content creators. Much love for the hard work and great content❤️
DS3 I found to be really easy after playing Elden Ring, and didn't really struggle at all... until I got to Sister Friede. She took me 2.5 hrs, and I hope this dlc kicks my ass just like that one did
I’m not even that into Elden Ring but that trailer was crazy and if I had a games console, I’d genuinely consider buying it just for this because this just looks absolutely crazy. I knew Jev did the whole story and it took a lot of time but this DLC looks like an entirely new game with new combat systems and new weapons, I assume, with the hand-to-hand, crossbow and throwing stars. And the bosses just look absolutely menacing and terrifying.
Imagine a warlord who you literally can’t hate and attack because you’re forced to love them, that’s pretty terrifying. Imagine being willing to murder and maim anyone in the world and even yourself because your love is so great. I feel like that’s what miquellas “love” is gona be like.
For all lore enthusiasts: The DLC takes place in the area that is shrouded in the *shadow* of the Earth Tree. Due to an unknown event (possibly a battle?) the area was cut off from the main world (i.e. the Lands between). This is why it is so dark and all sorts of dark creatures can exist there, apart from the light of the earth tree (such as the worm creatures). The lion-like boss is actually based on ancient Chinese dragon dancers who dance at New Year. The “final boss” is the demigod Messmer. The story revolves around Miquella, who was lost in this very country, the "Shadow Land". The tarnished (the main character) goes in search of Miquella and follows in his footsteps. These very footsteps also replace the places of grace, since it is not Melina who leads us through the world and shows us the way, but rather Miquella. The guy with the two snakes is the demigod Messmer (and therefore also a child of Marika and brother of Malenia and Miquella). The main story probably revolves around the question of why Messmer (the outlawed son) was banished to the Shadow Land and what Miquella wanted in this dark realm. About Messmer himself: It is very likely that Messmer was the one who embodied the snake before Rykard. On the one hand, of course, he has his accompaniments, but the fire is also very reminiscent of Rykard himself. In the lore, even before Radagon's time as the second Eldenlord, the earth tree fought against the serpent. Messmer, as the embodiment of this, is the direct opponent of the Golden Order itself and therefore the ultimate threat to the Earth Tree. So it's quite possible that he is the final boss. Fun fact: This would also clarify which demigod the smoldering butterflies belong to. The golden ones belong to Miquella and those of the rot belong to Malenia. The smoldering ones would therefore belong to Messmer and thus complete the trio of divine butterflies.
The person at the end was marika and also the idea if the dlc is marikas old home that lost grace because if marika and miquella is the only way you can get there
Elden Ring's official trailer didn't even show a fight as cinematic as Placidusax's fight (my most fav). I'm pretty sure there will be a fight in the DLC that is hidden from the trailer.
Recap: Miquella was cocooned in the Haligtree and in the process of being reborn when Mohg ripped him out so he could have a consort to elevate him to Godhood. Godwyn and Fia could have a role in theory.
Malenia is about to catch these hands with that martial art weapon.
