I think the reason reaction videos like this work is because we as the viewers have already experienced this moment. We cant get it back, through this kind of content we get to see someone's first time seeing what we saw and were left with such a strong sense of amazement. Its the ability to rellive a moment you enjoyed through the eyes of another.
Man I wanna see their reactions to the city of Nokron. I was blown away by how it looked like we just went into outer space and there's just a city in the middle of it. That was an amazing moment for me
I love how the view of the new sky draws everyones eyes towards it like it’s magnetic. Fromsoft really knows how to design their levels for the experience. And the background music fading up really amplifies the effect. This descent into the unexpected is one of the most memorable moments in this game for me.
I think they were trying to recapture the magic of that elevator ride in Dark Souls from the Undead Parish back down to Firelink Shrine, one of the most memorable moments in their games because it showcased the incredibly interconnected and vertical map design that DS1 had, which I haven't seen done so well in any game before or since. The way the wall cracks open and what you thought was some underground area turns into a whole world especially.
"Oh my god, it's beautiful... holy shit!" Somebody send Ubisoft and Guerrilla Games this clip with a note explaining the difference between graphical fidelity and art direction.
This game mastered and set the standard for atmosphere and world design. The definition of epic. I cannot recall or remember all the wow moments I had when I had my first playthrough and saw things for the first time, music kicking in and just getting dragged and pulled into this world and watched in awe. Elden Ring also is easily the game where I took the most screenshots.
i love being able to live vicariously through watching everyone’s reactions. i would do just about anything to be able to experience this for the first time again 😌
I mean it doesn't take that long to load in if you just fast travel there, so it's not really about the load screen. They just make you take the elevator ride to feel the depth of the underground that you're going down to. Then because they respect your time, they put a site of grace straight there so you don't have to sit through it again!
Honestly, when I found this place, I felt completely overwhelmed, but in the best way possible. The game just kept reminding me of how much there is to do and to discover. I love it to this day. Can't wait for the DLC.
I still can’t wrap my mind around siofra river. Fromsoft put a whole map under this tiny gazebo that could easily go unnoticed by many players. It was pure magic when I randomly found it. I was running from a rune bear and I just ducked into this random building, accidentally triggered the elevator, and the rest was the best video game moment I’ve ever had.
I still remember my first playthrough. When I found that elevator I told my friend all about it and how freaking huge the map must be, little did we know it would end up being even bigger than we thought back then. Easily one of my favorite games by now, absolutely love it.

I remember taking my 2 friends down there together, and their reactions were so fucking funny XD. They're like "wait a second"... its just so funny, because there is still so much to still do up top at this point in the game, and then they show you a space just as big as where you just were is insane LMAO.
The exploring was so much fun in this game. You enter one fucking little cave and spend 4 hours there because it leads to huge complex with a boss fight at the end. The exploring and open world aspect of Elden Ring was so masterfully done.
One of those you'd never expect moments in a video game. Elden ring is a masterpiece they weren't kidding that everything you see on screen you can reach and it was amazing that there was a whole fricking another world below it.
The Elden Ring team are the kind of developers that can simply make a long elevator ride, and manage to make it such a game changing experience, it's worth compiling reactions to.
Can you imagine if Shadows of the Colossus actually had a secret level like this that nobody’s found yet. Some random player would suddenly stumble upon the area, and discover all the unused colossi in it.
everyone knows how hard it is to even create 1 fromsoftware type level that interconnects with shortcuts and just fits with everything and this is simply amazing world design achievement
I’m about 12 hours into the game. I have run out of superlatives. When I got to this part all I could do is just ask “what!?” with my jaw hanging open.
Just for those who like to know: It's pronounced something like Sheefra.. it's an Irish first name meaning elf/fairy... Only reason I knew is cause it's the first name of a good friend.
I'm so glad I found this elevator before spoiling it for myself. Back when this game first came out, everyone was racing to find every nook and cranny of the game. I was too, but it was the first souls game I really got into so I was going relatively slowly. I did play ds3 before but only like 15-20 hours. This moment stood out to me in a game with a bunch of standout moments. It represented to me the incredible vastness of the lands between. From Software added so much stuff to see everywhere that it creates the magic of a perfectly curated story. Stories with magic tend to let on that there is more to the world than what the audience sees. It captures the imagination and fosters dedicated communities. This can be difficult to do in a videogame, because the developers have limitations to how much they can reasonably make. A player can easily test the limits of the world by hitting an invisible barrier or similar acts that break immersion. Elden Ring ignores this trend by making a huge world with lots of hidden content. When the player tests the limits of the world, they might be disappointed, or they might be amazed by a secret area or item or boss. The effort this must have taken to make the player feel the organic excitement of exploration must have been immense.
That place and the first sight of Irithyl are the reason why I play Fromoft games totaly blind and without any information except for official trailers

i teared up watching this.
For anyone wondering, it's pronounced Sheef-ra. It's an Irish name.
thank you! irish names are really fascinating, the fact most really don’t know how to pronounce many of them is sad
@@abraham3673not it's not🤦♀️
@@kiiturii
oh really? care to say how it’s actually pronounced?
@@abraham3673 I'm saying there is nothing sad about it bruh
@@kiiturii
… then why reply? it’s just my opinion. i didn’t ask for yours.
I was by myself when I was playing this and my jaw dropped. One of the most memorable moments I’ve had in gaming
Finding Siofra was like finding Blackreach in Skyrim except even better
That was my reaction. I'm glad you commented about the comparison.
私も彼らと同じように、「待って、これはどこまで降りるの?」と思いましたね。 もちろんそのあと絶景を見て言葉を失いました。
i would love to experience this game for the first time again
@@cm4n63I nearly did, but then I recovered my cloud-save. 😅
Elden Ring brought back a magic long lost in the game industry!! Really a memorable game!
Pre-Release: Wow, this game big.
Release: WOW, THIS GAME BIG
Discovering all locations: HOLY SHIT, DIS GAME BIIIIIIIGGGGGGG
DLC: *H U G H M U N G U S*
Dunkey enjoyer caught in the wild
miyazaki: oh you think youre done outside? go check the fckin basement!
That moment when you realise there's levels to this game, quite literally.
I think they were trying to recapture the magic of that elevator ride in Dark Souls from the Undead Parish back down to Firelink Shrine,
one of the most memorable moments in their games because it showcased the incredibly interconnected and vertical map design that DS1 had,
which I haven't seen done so well in any game before or since. The way the wall cracks open and what you thought was some underground area turns into a whole world especially.
"Oh my god, it's beautiful... holy shit!"
Somebody send Ubisoft and Guerrilla Games this clip with a note explaining the difference between graphical fidelity and art direction.
I thought the entire map was Limgrave at first, but then I encountered this…
This game mastered and set the standard for atmosphere and world design. The definition of epic.
I cannot recall or remember all the wow moments I had when I had my first playthrough and saw things for the first time, music kicking in and just getting dragged and pulled into this world and watched in awe.
Elden Ring also is easily the game where I took the most screenshots.
actually one of my favorite gaming moments ever
it was single-handedly the most incredible moment in gaming i've ever experienced. this game is just on a whole different level.
fuck of it is not
People should remember this and understand why er won best art direction
i love being able to live vicariously through watching everyone’s reactions. i would do just about anything to be able to experience this for the first time again 😌
i love how this is obvious hidden loading screen but this is 100x times better than any loading in starfield.
This game has so many memorable moments and areas. I'd never seen anything like Siofra in a game before this.
I still remember my first playthrough. When I found that elevator I told my friend all about it and how freaking huge the map must be, little did we know it would end up being even bigger than we thought back then.
Easily one of my favorite games by now, absolutely love it.
Right my brother said the same thing. He never liked DS3 but Elden ring changed him. He kept showing me shit I’ve already found but I let him talk about it. After finishing ER he got all the way up to pontiff sulyvan in DS3.
@@Salmon_Toastie Thats so cool! The game that really changed me was Sekiro. After that I played all Dark Souls. Sadly I still am waiting to play bloodborne. Hopefully its comes to pc eventually.
@@stormdivision617 Same bro ive had a taste of bloodborne on my mates ps4 but i can't deal with the framerate ahaha.
@@stormdivision617I'm definitely trying Sekiro next Elden Ring made a big impression on me i can't bring myself to rush everything. Literally been playing it for a week so far and still haven't found so many secrets yet. It's amazing how huge it is
@@jojomuppet1820 It’s definitely something different. Much more linear, smaller and entirely different combat style.
But once you get the combat down and the whole ‘hesitation is defeat’ thing sinks in, it’s literally the best combat system I have experienced.
It’s super satisfying and cinematic, very rewarding too.
Totally unexpected when i discover this. After +30 years playing games this is one of my top moments ever
The reward for exploring in this game is legendary and unmatched. I hope future Open World Games take notice.
the way the music slowly turns to absolute creep is just masterful
Discovering the Eternal City and Haligtree were amazing first time experiences
Actually landing in Farum Azula too, where high-end gear and stats are necessary!
@@KishorTwistI'm only just playing through now, and realizing that Farum Azula is actually a place you go is kinda wild because I know just enough about the map to think... where the hell?
The more I played. The more I was in awe... it is literally the best game ever made and it's not even the last of its kind...
I remember my reaction to the first time I descended that elevator was: holy sh*t am I in the Underdark?!?!
That moment you open the map and see the words, "show above ground," 🤯
*⬆️Rising Up plays*
*⬇️A-Ki-Ra plays*
This game has topped my alltime favourite rpg skyrim of its place...best game ever created and a true show of passion and sheer talent at fromsoft
This was the exact moment where my feeing of being underwhelmed with Limgrave quickly shifted to “Wow, FromSoft did it again” and I proceeded to have like 5 more of these moments throughout the game
what i like about the underground sections of the game is that From could've easily made them into a DLC sized location but they didn't. Like the idea of underground places could've been DLC, but instead its in the base game! I can't imagine how massive the Miquella DLC will be on release.
@@Cricket0021If it’s even a quarter the map of base game it’ll be incredible. Here’s hoping there’s at least 1 underground section.
Other developers would've definitely made this and other areas dlc. From Software is a jewel.
Or at least put it out in the open with lights and flares and map markers pointing to it
Fromsoft just hides it in a Forrest like “yea you could find it now or later it’s up to you”
@@myfatassdick the fact they don’t hold your hand and actually let you find stuff in the open world yourself is a breath of fresh air in a genre that treats you like a baby by taking the exploration away from you
Makes me superexcited for the dlc
Any other Dev would have easily made 2 dlcs from the base map of elden ring
@@shreeanshmahapatra2313 The entire underground area + ranni's quest and ending would've been dlc. Maybe even the entire Haligtree would've been a part of a separate 2nd dlc.
In the first hour of playing this game, I got teleported to Caelid after opening a chest. Then another 2 hours later, I stumbled onto this. At that point I realized I was playing a game I would need a lifetime for to complete, but would love every second of it
this area is insane. elden ring is just a masterpiece.
the unravelling of the under world of elden ring is one of the most memorable thing I ever did in a game
All time gaming moment for me
That moment when the eerie hum enters your ear and you see the hundred-foot tall pillars. It is mind blowing.
This was the moment i fell in love with Elden Ring
I remember my first time I was like " Am I in space!? did I reach the somewhere in the cosmos!?"
You reached The Underdark! Have fun with giant spiders and evil elves! lmfao
@@chrisnichols9014 Maybe
The sense of awe you get from your first playthrough is something I haven’t experienced since Skyrim
There is not a lot of games like Elden RIng who gives you this kind of experience.
Can you imagine if Shadows of the Colossus actually had a secret level like this that nobody’s found yet. Some random player would suddenly stumble upon the area, and discover all the unused colossi in it.
The Hero of the first game climbing out off that tower, but as a boss.
God I miss seeing this for the first time. Blew my freaking mind.
I wasn’t this excited to game since the release of tbc wow.
"The first time you get to Siofra River, where you blinded by it's majesty?"
I remember finding this place trying to run away from a bear. Good times
"I know a good deal when I see one. Unfortunately, I am blind."
It was just so sooo random, then it happens and my mouth dropped open like blown away
When video games bring that level of exploration and tension back… it’s more than just a game
That and exiting the cave in caelid after the teleport trap are mind blowing moments.
everyone knows how hard it is to even create 1 fromsoftware type level that interconnects with shortcuts and just fits with everything and this is simply amazing world design achievement
I’m about 12 hours into the game. I have run out of superlatives. When I got to this part all I could do is just ask “what!?” with my jaw hanging open.
oh yes, the good old Sephora river 4:28 😅
Ashewyn was very obviously not seeing this for the first time.
Just for those who like to know: It's pronounced something like Sheefra.. it's an Irish first name meaning elf/fairy... Only reason I knew is cause it's the first name of a good friend.
Nice! Thanks for sharing!
That's really fascinating! This place really feels like fairies and Elves definitely could've lived there at one point with how mystical it looks
Us Irish were all magical fairy folk until alcohol was invented
Incredible looking area you just wander into. Then after half an hour you hate it cause of the archers 😂
This is like Miyazaki telling ya
“if you aren’t already, get fucking ready”
Nokron was a huge WTF moment for me
Yeah it was pretty cool descending into the crater, rocks all hovering above
Sephora River lol
She-Fra, Underground Palace Of Power
Easily the best game ever made.
It’s amazing how one small platform, plain looking as anything, can lead to such an amazing world underneath. Imagine missing this place.
If only I had a Time Machine.
This game was like a drug to me.
Same here! Still playing it in anticipation for the DLC and just got here again 🔥
This was my most memorable moments of any game ever.
Same. Just breathtaking.
That place and the first sight of Irithyl are the reason why I play Fromoft games totaly blind and without any information except for official trailers
This absolutely deserved Game of The Year no matter what it was up against. I wish I could play this for the first time perpetually .
I wish I could wipe my memory of this game JUST so I could relive it all for the first time all over again. The thrill of discovery is one of the greatest things about this game..
A Reaction Compilation that actually credits who the clips are from? Nice
This and seeing Leyndell first time ( either by peninsula chest teleport or normal means) were some of the best looking landscapes I have seen in any game and probably even real life.
