Jev as someone who has the platinum I really wanna push the notion that prosthetics and skill arts can make your experience so much better. A lof of first playthroughs I see tend to ignore or only really stick to one prosthetic like the firecracker the whole time, and while you can definitely beat the game parry and regular attack only I think its doing the game a disservice to ignore all the cool abilities at your potential disposal. Upgraded versions of the Shuriken and Spear are my personal favourites and the Umbrella is also a highly effective tool for most fights.

One thing to remember about this game, combat is completely opposite to every other souls game. You want to keep the pressure on for as long as you got posture. You can always dodge when you see a heavy attack but keep hitting them while you can
I'm one of the people whose favorite FromSoft game is Sekiro. The combat in this game feels like the most fair combat system they've ever made because, unlike the other games, you aren't stuck dodging and then attacking a massive health bar for the entire fight. You still can do that to an extent, but if you get good at parrying, you can shorten the fights considerably. It wasn't until after I fought Lady Butterfly in my first playthrough (I went straight to Hirata Estate the first chance I got) that I finally forced myself to get good at parrying and stopped relying on dodging and memorizing animations I could dodge for free damage like in other previous games, and when I did that this game's combat system finally started to show it's strengths. There are certain weaknesses to the combat, like repetitive parry sequences that some people may find boring, but I can overlook stuff like that in favor of the game's combat allowing you to stand your ground against the bosses and take them head on, as opposed to being a dodge simulator.

WE WILL be tuning in every day for this series, welcome to peak Jev.
Just a little point: if they do the horizontal slash you can jump on their head and it causes damage to their posture
Jev. I’m a very very very long time fan. I mean I’ve been watching for over 5 years. You have made every bad day I’ve had into one where I laugh and forget about what I was upset about. Keep going because I know it’s not just me that feels this way. Best TH-camr to date.❤
That look of "I hate you for this right now, but maybe I'll enjoy it, though maybe I won't and it will be your fault" at the beginning is perfect

HOLY SHIT WE NEED A SERIES! Been waiting for years to see you play it
Yep were gettin a full series
hardest game i have ever played. Didn't help that I had chosen to make my high school final project about Japanese history within games and chose to play this as part of my research.... It made it even less enjoyable because I made deadlines and couldnt meet them lol. But I still love watching videos on this game so keep the series going!
little tip, you can just jump on an enemies head by double jumping in their face when they do that little sweeping attack itll help with ashina fight immensely
ANOTHER BANGER FROM JEV, LET IT BE A SERIES
Also I like the 16 minute videos love the effort!!
I’ve been playing this one again recently two played through probably like 6 or 7 times at this point and it’s easily becoming one of my favorite of all time games not even just souls games
As a heads up, eavesdropping on the NPCs normally gives you a tip about how to defeat a up-n-coming boss (the chained ogre is weak to fire [firecracker prothesis])
Finally, 50K + likes. Now a SERIES is a must.
