Wow ! I saw your TH-cam video! I thought you were already a member! I had the same reaction to walking towards a temple after the fourth discussion, that night I had a dream about a war in heaven, what side I choose and a dream about tithing ! Was baptized shortly afterwards and haven’t looked back 38 years ago! Will be praying for you, welcome to the church family! May you find rest and peace!
Thanks for coming to salt lake and appreciating our choir in person here. We were lucky to host a man of your caliber. I loved your video reacting to the tabernacle choir, it was raw and real. It was incredibly touching to watch.

I cried with him, for him, praying for him. Thank you Charlie for sharing this experience and allowing it.
I did too!! I’ve been waiting all weekend to hear about his experience. It’s so awesome to hear about it on this channel! What a cool new connection between TH-camrs.
Charlie Smith helped me through a very rough time in my life. ❤ It was to my surprise, he had a Tabernacle Choir review that brought me to tears and to my knees. The Lord used Charlie Smith as a bridge to reach so many of us who were in a hard spot, reminding us ALL that the Holy Spirit is available at any and all moments. ❤❤❤
I convinced this girl from a dating app to fly all the way from Boston just to check out a choir and orchestra practice-like, no pressure, right? She's a professional music recorder, so I was expecting a polite nod or something. Instead, she was absolutely floored! She kept going on about the 'power of this inspired music' and how insanely talented everyone was. Safe to say, Dates go well at the conference center when you have Better Than Beethoven as your wingman - haha! And of course we ran into a sister missionary who was from her neighborhood serving in temple square...Magic happens at Temple Square.

I can't get it out of my head. The name for the phenomena is "earworm". When I went looking for it online, I was surprised to learn it had been published in The Friend clear back in March of 2018. I think most of us took/take the music that is published there too😢 lightly.
I was praying for you this weekend Charlie. God bless! Thanks for worshipping with us at General Conference and for giving our music a chance. It has blessed my life to no end. Nothing calms the mind and soul like Tab Choir!
I just found this guy a couple weeks ago through his tabernacle choir reaction videos. God is definitely aware of this man. His videos really made me pay more attention to the music during Conference and I was able to feel the spirit so strongly. I kept thinking of him as I watched conference, wondering if he was watching the session. It's a pleasant surprise to see him on another channel I follow.
I can't believe it! I had never heard of this gentleman before until just recently when I happened to watch that exact video of his reaction. I loved his response so much I ended up watching more of his videos. This is incredible! I'm so, so happy for him. So amazing.
I’m a member of the Church from Chile. I had the chance to watch the Tabernacle choir Charles’ reaction and I felt emotional. Even for me it was so special. I’m glad he flew all over to watch the conference 😊
I love how Charlie says he journals to remember the details. Love the tie-in of The Book Of Mormon being like journals. Journals are a form of Scripture. Reminded me of a couple of talks about journaling. Two from Richard G. Scott and one from Henry B. Eyring -("Oh, Remember, Remember") “Write down in a secure place the important things you learn from the Spirit. You will find that as you write down precious impressions, often more will come. Also, the knowledge you gain will be available throughout your life.” -R. G. Scott
Hey Devil Dogs, thanks for having Charlie on. I'm an Army Guardsman and have been mobed to Iraq, Afghanistan and Poland. Be sure to stay spiritually physically safe. I found, even as a young man, that doing indexing gave me power against temptation. Not sure why that commandment is attached to that blessing, but want you to have that as well.
God bless you for your sacrifice and service Mr. Mathewson. Thank you for your work and testimony of indexing which helps us find our ancestors names easily. Prayers for your safety and prayers for your example to have long lasting influence on so many.
On my mission in Russia, I knew a member who joined the Church years ago, right after a visit from the Tabernacle Choir (then MoTab). She was a musician, and said that when she listened to the choir, she had tears in her eyes and knew that the reason the music was so beautiful was that this church had the truth she’d been seeking her whole life. Charlie’s experience reminded me of her. It’s so amazing to get to witness someone feel the Spirit of God touching their heart so strongly.
I majored in Russian at BYU in the late 70s. I was so thrilled when a young friend of our boys was called to St. Petersburg. It was a prayer we said every day in classes that the gospel could be spread there. Recently on a cruise to Alaska I met a woman from Ukraine who is ethnically Russian and over hearing her talking to her husband decided to introduce myself. My Russian was never great and after 45 years was about as rusted over as possible. It ended up we ran into them again and struck up a friendship, sharing dinner with them the rest of the cruise. I came home and signed up for Duolingo. I completed that course and am thinking of finding another because I still don’t feel like I can carry on a decent conversation. Funny though, my husband is Chinese. He wants me to learn Cantonese. It’s simpler grammatically but the tones make it so hard!! Don’t know why I’m rambling on. Just feeling nostalgic and wishing for the day Russia can be free finally! Thanks for tolerating my 2¢ worth.
This conference, because of you Charlie, I tried listening to the choir with new ears. Thank you for offering your perspective! I'm sure we'd love to hear your thoughts on Book of Mormon as you read it.
The moment the Book of Mormon touched my hands, I was set on a journey that has had my head spinning ever since. I hope the same happens to you Charlie. I am so so saddened that you two are being deployed. We will be praying for you
As a teen, my friends would tease me for saying the Tabernacle Choir was my favorite music. I didn't care because of the Spirit they bring. I loved Charlie's reaction and his choice to come visit General Conference. What a great video!
Same!! Grew up in Oklahoma and my born and raised in SLC grandparents introduced us to the Tabernacle Choir from birth…I am always impressed with the choir but was also very moved to watch this gentleman’s reaction hearing them for the first time. Thank you, Charlie!
I’ve been watching him. I’m so glad you were able to grab him for an interview. He gave me a greater appreciation for the Tabernacle Choir. And I was very moved by his heartfelt gratitude. You are proof the spirit speaks through great music.
Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing is my theme song!! It has always been my prayer and always will be. I saw Charlie’s video and I too was immediately in tears and wanted to reach out to him. I’ve been a member since I was 8, but my father was an inactive member and my mother took us to church even though she was not a member. Mom and I were baptized the same evening by my grandfather, my dad’s dad. Mom had played gospel music of all kinds when I was young, she taught me that music is the language of the spirit. I needed to hear that song that day and it was a reminder to me of God’s love for each and every one of us.
Every session of conference, I caught myself thinking, “Oh my gosh I hope Charlie is watching THIS session.” What a humble and gracious man. You are all touching a lot of hearts.
Got back from my mission in London last year. The amount of crazy conversion stories that exist over there had me dumstruck. Its so worldly that finding the church over there always came with a insane story! So many of my converts had personal experiences that lead them right up to meet us. So happy for this brother. Welcome to the Jesus Christs Church.
@@TRCampbell mine, too. But in the 1600s. We left early! But I sure appreciate the British Saints. They seemed to have such strong spirits. And apparently still do. I love that.
I was able to attend the session with the children’s choir. It was beyond beautiful. My son who is 8 couldn’t believe all those kids and that they could sound to amazing.
I, like a lot of people, found Charlies channel a few days within him posting his reaction video to "come thou fount".. I was bawling my eyes out when he was tearing up b/c I knew he was feeling it. People almost always feel "it" when they listen to that amazing choir. The whole time I was listening to conference I was thinking about him and wondering what he thought of the speakers, members and SLC. I'm so happy to see this video and that you guys got to sit and talk with him. I thought he must've felt it was all so surreal. It's crazy how our lives can one day just take these kinda turns and you end up somewhere you had ABSOLUTELY no idea you'd end up at. God has a plan for all of us and when you go with it.. you end up learning SO MUCH. I mean.. one day he's getting emotional listening to a choir thousands of miles away and out of the blue a few weeks later he's flying to Utah listening to them in person--or if he was at the Sunday morning session..singing with them and the rest of the congregation. Whoever invited him and paid for his journey to Utah.. I'd love to hear their story.
I am SO glad some generous members flew him out and provided accommodations for him too! Wow! That’s such a great opportunity for him! ❤Love this reaction video! I’ve been wondering! Prayed for him the whole conference !
I found Charlie on this same video, and commented that someone needed to get him some conference tickets. Someone did and I heard he was coming and have been so looking forward to hearing his reaction to conference.
What an amazing man and an amazing story. I have been struggling with so many hardships in my life continuously for the past 10 years, losing my sister and best friend in a car accident, the death of my precious beautiful daughter while serving in the military, the death of my father, a granddaughter born with many disabilities, finding out I have Lymn disease, my home was 80% flooded, then losing everything in a fire and my husband leaving me for a younger woman. I have been an empty shell wandering around feeling worthless. I know the Spirit led me to Charlie's channel to see his reactions to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (I am a lifelong member of the church) I cried so hard feeling the Spirit and feeling the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. I watched his videos all day Sunday between watching General Conference. It is amazing how the hand of God brings us back to him through people and ways that would never be expected. Thank you, Charlie, for bringing me back to the strength of my Testimony of Jesus Christ and the Gospel.
@jodeeps2287 I am reading your comment and all I can think of is how much people struggle in this life, and yet, examples of strength and faith like yours help others stay afloat. Sorry to hear all you have been through. I hope you got to watch all rhe sessions of GC as it was filled with uplifting messages. Stay strong.
@@gonzaloreyes3918 Thank you for your compassionate comment, your words helped to comfort and strengthen me. There are times I don't want to face another day for fear of another heartbreak but I know I must carry on and endure to the end to show appreciation for all the many blessings I continue to receive. Our Savoir died a very painful death for us so we can have the strength, comfort, and faith to know we will be forgiven and be in his presence again, and be reunited with our loved ones. I can not disappoint Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, my loved ones, and my ancestors by not living a life of service and gratitude. I didn't mean to write such a long reply, it just came pouring out. I sincerely appreciate you for taking the time to acknowledge me. 🙏❤️
Well I got blindsided 🤯. I've been watching him over the last month and just been impressed with his reaction! But I never contemplated this. Amazing and awesome! You the man!
I always bawl when watching the Tab with Sissel and the song Slow Down. SO impactful. When my home burned down 2 weeks before covid, I must have watched that video 6x/day.
I remember coming across that song during Covid and I was pregnant and exhausted and needed a few minutes break from my toddlers. I was lying on the bed, listening to that song and I began bawling.
I watched Charlies show when he listened to the choir for the first time. I hadn't realized he was so sincere until he flew all the way here. He is actually a really special guy! A good man!
We forget what we have sometimes. Charlie also got me to listen more to our choir this conference. We really are lucky, as Saints, to have what we have aren’t we?
Oh man I love this guy!!!! Been following him since his first reaction video to MoTab! Glad he was able to experience conference in person. He even got me tearing up.
Talking about taking what we have for granted! I watched Charlie's reaction video of the tabernacle choir and he had helped me realized how bless I am to be able to have the opportunity to have access to the choir. I did felt the spirit as I watched him felt the spirit! ❤❤❤
Noooooooooo! You’re being deployed!? I think my heart just broke. Devil is trying to take you away from doing this amazing work. You are in our prayers. It made me so happy to see Charlie on your channel. What a genuine and stellar human being. So glad he made it for conference!
Thank you for your service in the Marines. 🙏 God will be watching over all of you and you will continue to be an instrument in his hands no matter where you are or what you are called upon to do. (We’ll miss you on your podcast, so hurry back!)
On my mission a big Samoan elder With the strongest voice you ever heard sang a song... I don't remember the song but I remember from that point on I couldn't deny...songs are powerful
❤❤❤ My husband shared a story when he was on a mission in Melbourne, Australia and a humble Maori Elder sang. He sounded like an angel to my hubby. He moved many people with his singing. I’m sure he still does to this day.
I so glad you interviewed him. I saw his video and felt the spirit. So glad he was able to go to conference! Hope you guys have a safe deployment. Prayers will be with you!
I feel God is connecting so many people in these latter days, we need each other for support for the difficult days that come. God Bless us and keep us all.
WOW!!! THAT WAS AWESOME!!! I’ve watched his reaction vids several times and shared with my family at night before family prayer. So powerful!! Love that he got to come here in person!! Prayers for his continued success and influence for good!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I kept thinking about him as I watched conference and listened to the beautiful music. I looked for him whenever the camera panned the crowd. I was praying for him.
I ran into Charlie's beautiful you tube videos of listening to the Tabernacle Choir a few weeks back and was moved to tears with Charlie! I was thrilled to hear he was coming to conference and now this video! Thank you for interviewing him and thank you to Charlie for sharing your videos so I could experience it with you!!! God bless you Charlie!!!
Once the candle is lit within, the flame will never go out. It cannot be denied and in the event trials may come and one distances, that light burns deep within. Always there, waiting to be nourished and fed until true happiness beams from it, and it will
This conversation and the part about him meeting the choir truly warmed my heart! How awesome! The hymns are so near and dear to me personally! Latter Day Saints truly are amazing souls! I love them, dearly! Always have, always will! What a solid discussion!
I am a long time Latter-day Saint, short time Charlie fan. And I also felt the Spirit as I watched his reactions to the Choir, or as I call them, My Choir. I am thrilled to see Charlie at conference. Guys, please share the blessings of having names put on a Temple prayer roll. He would surely appreciate knowing thousands of people are praying for him and his children.
I’m so glad he had a good experience! I have been so nervous all weekend worried that he’d unknowingly gone to one of the sessions with a guest choir and might not be able to see them live but I’m so glad it worked out and he was even able to meet them. Thank you guys for your testimonies! I loved your preface to the Book of Mormon also. What a beautiful way to frame it!
I love that you had him on. He seems like a good man and I enjoyed watching him react to the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. I was floored when I heard he was going to SLC to see them at GC.
Interesting how the spirit brings us altogether. I saw a while back Charlie Smith watch the choir and react. Many comments were to him that he was feeling the spirit. I'm excited he came to conference this is so cool.
Man the irony... I watch Charlie react to the choir and it was as fun as he was emotional :) My buddy tells me he helped this channel get going and so I follow it, only to see Charlie here sharing he went to general conference! Woo lol!! I hope he loved the kids choir.
His was one of the best podcasts I've watched! ✨What an amazing spiritual experience you had brother! I love you!❤🙏🏼✨ Thanks for having him on and sharing your spiritual knowing that everything is going to be alright! God watches over us all! 🙏🏼
Hopefully his whole family can be gifted a trip out for the Christmas concert! I also watched his reaction video a little while ago and was super excited when I learned that someone felt inspired to fly him out. It is such a unique experience and I was thinking about him a lot when I was watching Conference.
I haven’t had a chance to watch this recording yet, but I watched his reaction to the tabernacle choir, and I sobbed watching his reaction. I am so excited to hear this story!
I saw the first reaction video, and instantly fell in love with Charlie! You can just see and feel what a wonderful spirit he is. And I'm just saying, maybe there's a reason MoTab hasn't announced the Guest Singers for the Christmas Concert yet...maybe they haven't finished auditioning everyone yet! 😉 Charlie, Christmas in Utah is beautiful! I hope you will come back for a longer visit someday...and get a chance to sing with the choir! It would be even more awesome if we could all watch you make your first Guest appearance with the choir at the Christmas concert! 🎅
I found Charlie through his reaction video to the MoTab Choir. His emotional response was so inspiring and so real. He brought me to a place of self reflection and appreciation for the gospel and the choir. Godspeed on your spiritual journey Charlie. 🙏🏻
I saw the video and sobbed along with Charlie the entire way through! As a lifetime member of the church, the Tabernacle Choir is not new to me. But this, this was so different. I literally felt the song along with Charlie, as if I had never heard them sing. Thank you so much for sharing your experience!! The spirit of God surrounds us all, and listening to this choir will remind you He's there, and He wants to lift you up during times of solitude, hardship, and loss!! How blessed we are.❤
I am 71 years old. I remember at age 5 being overcome with the Spirit watching and listening to the Tabernacle Choir. As the years have passed, sometimes we take their amazing ability for granted. When I happened upon Charlie Smith's site as he was watching them, I started crying and realized how they can touch our Spirit and help us to feel God's Love for all of his children. Thank you!
We make Music and the Spoken Word a monthly event, we live 30 min away. We are blessed. I always get emotional when they sing God Be With You Till We Meet Again at the end of each performance. Awe inspiring
Unbelievable!. I’m a semi professional singer, but don’t live in the Salt Lake area any longer in order to audition for the Mormon tabernacle choir. Come thou fount is one of my all-time favorites. I did watch these videos and I was bawling my eyes out. The spirit was so strong. Kudos to this brother for feeling, the spirit and taking action. I’m excited to see his progression with the gospel.
Thank you Charlie for sharing your experience with us. I am a subscriber of your channel on YT, and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I found you on YT after watching your first reaction to our choir, and immediately subscribed. I saw the Spirit of our Lord move you, and I figured your channel would be wholesome for me to watch. Thanks to " The Stick of Joseph" for sharing this video. I love your channel as well! ~AB~
Charlie's reaction video to the TC touched our souls too...we watched it on our family get-together and there was no dry eye among us. How exciting that he was able to go to the conference meet the choir and meet you guys!!! Makes my heart happy! ❤
Ah no way!!! I can't tell you how happy i was when i saw this video come up!!! I didn't know he had made it to conference after all!! Makes me so happy! 🥰 I totally thought of him during conference as well and wondered if he would at least tune in online or something. This video was amazing and made my day 🤍🤍🤍
I'm so glad you had him on your channel! I watched his videos a week or so ago and remember thinking, "that man just felt The Holy Ghost and doesn't realize it yet."
I happened to watch his video a couple weeks ago as well. I had the same reaction to it. I watched it again with my wife and she had the same reaction.
Oh my heck! I did watch his reaction video to the Tab choir. I loved it. Now to see this video so recently after seeing his video, wow. Awesome how the spirit works to bring people with the spirit together. Welcome to Utah man. You're welcome to stay too 😊
I watched all sessions of conference and thought of Charlie visiting the entire time just hoping he was being treated right & enjoying himself. This is amazing, I love this connection!! 💞 my favorite TH-camrs I never imagined collabing. Life is fun!!
What a small world!! I just saw Charlie s show-- reaction to the Tab choir. And YOU have him on your show. You 2 are so awesome! Loved the interview. I learn so much from your discussions.
OMG I love that you had him in your channel!! I saw his reaction to the choir and shared that with so many people. This is awesome, you guys are the best!!!
Thank you so much for having me on and letting me tell a slice of my story. It was such a pleasure to speak to you fine gentlemen
You correct the SA and Zulu music hits hard. Served my mission in Zimbabwe and spent some time in SA

Yes! My mom and I too!
I love how Charlie says he journals to remember the details. Love the tie-in of The Book Of Mormon being like journals. Journals are a form of Scripture. Reminded me of a couple of talks about journaling. Two from Richard G. Scott and one from Henry B. Eyring -("Oh, Remember, Remember")
“Write down in a secure place the important things you learn from the Spirit. You will find that as you write down precious impressions, often more will come. Also, the knowledge you gain will be available throughout your life.” -R. G. Scott
Thank you for reminding me... tender mercies... thank you for sharing...
Thanks for having Charlie on your show.
He's delightful!!
One of my friends was like "oh you probably listen to worship music" and I was like "yeah" and played her some Tabernacle Choir
Well, they are great! They sing all types of songs.
I’ve been watching him. I’m so glad you were able to grab him for an interview. He gave me a greater appreciation for the Tabernacle Choir. And I was very moved by his heartfelt gratitude. You are proof the spirit speaks through great music.
So happy you were able to make it and for General Conference. Bless you. I love your show. I'm crying with you.
Dude, member or not, a free Tab Choir ticket is insane!
It's free to go listen to them every Sunday
It’s always free. Everyone participating in the choir and orchestra are volunteers.
You make me think of the early days of the Church. The Saints from England are special.
@@pgray5223 Indeed they are! It's where all my ancestry came from + Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Germany and many more.
He made me so appreciate the Tabernacle Choir and remember watching it live. My face was puffy ugly; but I was so taken by the Spirit.
Me too.
My mom is recovering from cancer surgery and found Charlie’s video. Thank you for your reaction, she shared it with the family.
Me too.
Music is what emotions sound like.
A good man!
Charlie helped me to start listening to the tabernacle choir more :)
We forget what we have sometimes. Charlie also got me to listen more to our choir this conference. We really are lucky, as Saints, to have what we have aren’t we?
Charlie you made me cry!
Oh man I love this guy!!!! Been following him since his first reaction video to MoTab! Glad he was able to experience conference in person. He even got me tearing up.
Me too, I wondered what his reaction would be, so it's a pleasant surprise to get his response here
God bless Charlie Smith.
I wept for joy when I saw the original video and thought "this guy is a very special soul".. what a legend!
This is so beautiful, watching from South Africa 🇿🇦 and I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
On my mission a big Samoan elder With the strongest voice you ever heard sang a song... I don't remember the song but I remember from that point on I couldn't deny...songs are powerful
❤❤❤
My husband shared a story when he was on a mission in Melbourne, Australia and a humble Maori Elder sang.
I thought I was the only one who thought about Charlie all weekend. I to was wrong!!!! Thanks, Charlie ❤
Blessings to you and your family, Hayden!❤
I kept thinking about him as I watched conference and listened to the beautiful music. I looked for him whenever the camera panned the crowd. I was praying for him.
Crying….again…he has the spirit so strong..one of students sang in the children’s choir…so powerful
I found Charlie's channel Friday evening before conference. I watched the 4 videos he had with the choir. Then I had to show my husband and family.
Always there, waiting to be nourished and fed until true happiness beams from it, and it will
True. It’s called The Light of Christ.
@15xabatross - The Light of Christ at its perfection... it's so glorious... I LOVE GOD AND ALL HIS GOODNESS.
I also loved the video Charlie did, and cried. My heart was full of gratitude to watch his beautiful reaction ❤️
I watch Charlie react to the choir and it was as fun as he was emotional :)
My buddy tells me he helped this channel get going and so I follow it, only to see Charlie here sharing he went to general conference!
I love Charlie's reaction to the Tabernacle Choir. I watch his reactions often and he always warm my heart.
Charlie, Christmas in Utah is beautiful!
~AB~
Fantastic, love this. So glad Charlie was able to come and experience this. God bless.
Charlie's reaction video to the TC touched our souls too...we watched it on our family get-together and there was no dry eye among us. How exciting that he was able to go to the conference meet the choir and meet you guys!!! Makes my heart happy! ❤
Music speaks to the heart when the mouth has no words!
Ah no way!!! I can't tell you how happy i was when i saw this video come up!!! I didn't know he had made it to conference after all!! Makes me so happy! 🥰 I totally thought of him during conference as well and wondered if he would at least tune in online or something. This video was amazing and made my day 🤍🤍🤍
I was praying for Charlie during every session of conference. Hope he had a wonderful experience hearing the choir!
Me too!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so glad you had him on your channel! I watched his videos a week or so ago and remember thinking, "that man just felt The Holy Ghost and doesn't realize it yet."
What??! So cool!! Love him and his channel! Prayers answered! Music worship is so incredibly powerful!!
I cry and have chills every time I listen to the choir sing these two songs. They have become two of my favorites.
Im crying watching the reaction again. So awesome he took time to speak with you all.
I happened to watch his video a couple weeks ago as well. I had the same reaction to it. I watched it again with my wife and she had the same reaction.
5:09 charlie, I was praying for you many times during conference 🙏
Me too
Oh my heck! I did watch his reaction video to the Tab choir. I loved it. Now to see this video so recently after seeing his video, wow. Awesome how the spirit works to bring people with the spirit together. Welcome to Utah man. You're welcome to stay too 😊
I love this guy! He’s awesome.
WE LOVE CHARLIE!!!
I watched all sessions of conference and thought of Charlie visiting the entire time just hoping he was being treated right & enjoying himself. This is amazing, I love this connection!! 💞 my favorite TH-camrs I never imagined collabing. Life is fun!!
I keep checking Charlie's channel to hear about his reaction to General Conference. I'm glad to see this interview posted here!!
I saw his reaction video independent of any of this. It's amazing to see he went to Conference.
What a small world!! I just saw Charlie s show-- reaction to the Tab choir. And YOU have him on your show. You 2 are so awesome! Loved the interview. I learn so much from your discussions.
Same here
OMG I love that you had him in your channel!! I saw his reaction to the choir and shared that with so many people. This is awesome, you guys are the best!!!
So amazing to see this pop up on my feed just as Charlie's review of the Tabernacle Choir popped up a few weeks ago! Love it! ♥
