I think coach greg is well intentioned but he is wrong. If he was right, "Just say no" in the 80's and 90' would have worked. You have to have holistic view of these things both the good and bad. Also I think Meno did a good job highlighting the risks without fear mongering like Greg does. Meno gave me a better argument for not using in that one video PED than Greg ever has.
Hey Greg, when you make a video about someone and use their content, you should at least cite the original. The very first sentence of my video says: "AAS are bad for you. Nobody disputes that." There's no debate that all else equal, steroids shorten your life. In the video, I explain that the damage of relatively moderate AAS cycling seems to be equal to the effect of the average person's crappy lifestyle. That puts things into perspective based on the data we have (which does not include lifetime studies of people using vs not using, for many obvious reasons). PS. And yes, I'm deeply in love with Mr. Israetel. No shame, full homie, not sure if homo.
Love your stuff Menno. Greg isn’t doing a good job of looking at the nuances of the study here - he’s just jumping to conclusions by only reading headlines.
Mathiasen J et al. JAMA 2024 Mar 14 - An 11-year observational study showed a roughly threefold higher risk for death in steroid users than in nonusers. In this observational Danish study, researchers identified 1189 young men (mean age, 27) who had received 2-year doping sanctions for AAS use as part of a national antidoping program. Long-term mortality was compared in AAS users and in 60,000 age-matched controls. (For every AAS user, there were 50 male control participants matched by age from the general population through random selection using the Danish Civil Registration System). During a mean follow-up of 11 years, 2.8% of AAS users and 1% of controls died, for a hazard ratio of 2.8 - a significant difference. In AAS users, HRs were 3.6 for unnatural deaths (i.e., accidents, violent crimes, or suicide) and 2.2 for natural deaths (e.g., cancer, cardiovascular-related deaths).
@@marwanhagar7196 Nice, I hadn't seen that new study yet. Using hazard ratios when the base rate is tiny is not very practically informative though. The chance of a 27 year old dying from a heart attack is near zero. Of course AAS will increase that majorly. How that translates into longevity is a big question mark from those data. The analysis I discussed in my video showed the same increase in mortality during use, but they had more long-term data. Also, the data quality of the earlier study was better, because in the new study, you're looking at a pretty nasty subset of AAS users, the ones that used when it was illegal and with so much risk that they got caught. As you cite, they were even more predisposed to violent crimes, suicide and accidents than they were to health related deaths. While some of that might be attributable to AAS, we're most likely looking at very different people. Genetic confounding is also why looking at siblings is better, which I did in my video. Again, nobody disputes that AAS are bad for you.
@Dwhizzle disagree. There is only 1 thing to note here. Menno presents this study where most people will not arrive to the appropriate conclusion after watching his take. Sure, he presents it in a way that SOME individuals will understand what he's trying to ultimately convey, but MOST will see this as a down play of the steroid risks. Read my comment directly to Menno next.
@@Editor_Steve I highly doubt that’s what they’ll get from watching his video. They’ll easily come to that conclusion from watching Greg’s video, as he’s highlighting it disingenuously.
When people say they aren’t addicted they can stop anytime they want. Whenever they want. I tell them yes, when you “want” to not need to. Hurting yourself and not wanting to stop
I could never imagine giving up my natty card even if I could get my dream physique witch is highly unlikely even with the juice. Especially with the risk of injuring my insides and living a shorter life
Fuck a natty card. Low dose cycles are worth giving up a natty card. I don't agree with high dose but low dose have helped me mentally and I'm more successful than I've ever been by far! TRT plus
also called "sludging" . When red blood cell levels are too high, it can lead to poor circulation and an increased risk of high blood pressure, blood clots, stroke, and heart attack
Menno clearly states that this one study shows steroid users live longer than non-steroid users because their diet and exercise consistency COMPENSATES for the negative effects of steroids. He never says steroids are healthy and everyone should do them. They, in fact, argue the opposite many times. Your entire argument boils down to "well I don't think so" but you have no substantive argument to back it up. If they're in a circle jerk, you're in the middle on your knees with your mouth wide open.
Greg pointed out the fine print, he doesn't automatically need counterevidence when he can point to logical flaws in the evidence for the opposite side of the argument. Flaws that I'm trusting are true, since I'm not reading that study personally - it's a single study, it's elite athletes with steroids vs the general population rather than elite athletes with and without steroids, it doesn't take into account pro bodybuilding where steroids are more likely to be abused, it doesn't take into account the socially-media-obsessed youth who are more likely to abuse steroids and it probably doesn't take into account dose levels, types of steroid used, duration of use, when the steroids were used in the users lifetime, how pure the steroids were and how much support there was for monitoring the effects of the steroids, e.g. in bloodwork etc, or having teams supporting an individual to make the optimal decisions.
Dr. Mike does have very recent content on RP stating that steroids do, in fact, shorten your life and isn’t worth with it for pretty much everyone. It’s unfortunate to see Menno promoting steroids as non-harmful.
He was using coke and mdma, and got infections from site enhancement oil, I don't recall any problems he had with gear, but if he did its easily preventable by monitoring blood work, blood pressure and necessary scans, and reacting with appropriate measures in response to anything negative (such as taking medication, supplements, increasing hydration, or doing more cardio) which you cannot do for recreational drugs.
I wholeheartedly agree with Greg on this topic. Just know this is very rare my history shows I pretty much disagree with Greg all the time but he is 100% correct on this
Mike believes within a couple decade we'll be able to cure almost anything, maybe that's why he does it and don't thinks it's too big a deal. I think it's stupid too but I do think it should be his choice
Coach Greg, you are learning what I'm realizing now and more often... wisdom is a rare and precious thing, and the most ignorant are often the loudest. Proverbs 18:2 A fool does not delight in understanding, but only in airing his opinions.
It’s hard for them to admit the truth and easier to believe your own bs. I’m wiling to bet that being on steroids is just as dangerous if not more than being morbidly obese.
This reminds me of the episode of “Wipeout” that pitted geeks against bodybuilders. Out of the dozens of bodybuilders, only one made it past the qualifier stage. The others took twice as long as the geeks to finish and were all breathing so hard it looked like they were going to have heart attacks.
I love you Greg but I don't think Mike has ever justified the use of PEDs, he's always super honest about his use and the side effects that affect him. Stop fishing for views man.
Honestly it often depends on the individual and family history. I'm 45 and used steroids for 14 years. I recently had my annual echocardiogram and nuclear stress test. I show no LVH and my ejection fraction rate is 61%. My college buddy who is overweight but not obese, lifts weights but has never done steroids has mild LVH with an ejection fraction of 53%. My kidneys and liver are functioning perfectly and my cholesterol numbers are top notch. Obviously, I would be healthier if I had never touched steroids but 14 years of cycling and one year of TRT have not done any significant damage to my organs so far. I do not advocate steroids but I also have zero regrets. I spent my entire 30s and early 40s looking spectacular, 6' 6" 250-275 lbs. and 5-10% BF during that time. I was essentially a real life Jack Reacher.
People like dr. Mike should not take steroids because clearly he doesn't benefit from them judging by his side effects and inability to get pro card - people with the correct genetics often get pro cards doing only a bit of oral steroids 😂
As a general rule of thumb(not family), people who tell you stuff you like to hear aren't looking out for your well being. People who tell you the cold hard truth and are consistently honest usually are.
coach greg i have a question so i get an allergy if i do physical exercise after eating (hives all over the skin ) so i cant go to the gym after eating but if i go on an empty stomach i wont have much energy and wont be able to push myself so what should i do
How long does the rash last? Can you try eating brown rice and a fatty steak like 2 or 3 hours out from the gym, so that hours later you feel better and energised?
sounds very harsh, it may be 'cholinergic urticaria' (which can spontaneously resolve in 2-3ys), does it happen when you start sweating or take a warm shower? How long does it persist? would see the doc to confirm and rule out any other condition
Even after years of AAS abuse I cold turkey stopped and made a recovery back to 600 (higher average test) about 8 months later. Young men, you do not have to be on trt or continue cruise/blasting. It is time to stop the drug addiction, and this is your sign. Go fishing, camping, or read a book. Losing muscle is not going to end your life.
You may wanna take this video down dude Menno just responded and you took what he said out of context and cut out what he actually said. But then again that’s what you always do so not surprising that you cherry picked this vid just like every other one you’ve done
It's unfortunate that Mike is headed down this path because I watched his videos and they have helped me build muscle. The fitness industry needs a renaissance again with the rate steroids are purging it.
Marijuana users often say they are not addicted, but they cannot abruptly stop using it for a year. Its component has some medical benefit, but it still is very addictive. Alcohol addicts, steroid addicts are no different.
Menno's point was specifically that the harm from low dose steroid use was less than the health benefit of being a trained athlete, hence they still lived longer than the general population. He wasn't saying that the steroids didn't shorted their lifespans, they could well have lived longer if they hadn't used them.
5mins into Greg's vid i already understand what they were trying to say. They were not referring to body builders. Greg seems closed minds in this vid.
i don't even have to watch the entire video... Menno wants Dr Mike faster than last time... just let us know the date Dr Mike is going to marry him, it's not like Dr Mike hasn't put gay comments in his videos before (i'm not even joking)
Eh, you clearly misunderstood Menno. Hè only said that on average people that do steroids have a more healthy lifestyle compared to people that don’t do them, so the upside of this healthier lifestyle has generally speaking, a bigger impact on health, than the downsides of the steroid usage.
More people needs to watch this, especially teen boys I know so many young teens that workout that all are interested in steroids, they do not understand how dangerous it is, in the long term and even in shorter time. I have some bad examples of body builders that died before 40. Videos like this can help them realize they are not in for a good trip with steroids.

Honestly completely agree with greg, every time i think about taking PEDs ur videos always make me think twice about it
Ruining your life over few more bucks even when you already made it in the industry is not a good decision. People might call Greg a hater but I think he is genuinely concerned.
Greg doesn't give 2 *ucks, it is simply a topic to talk about.
If he would be concerned he would call Mike and tell him personally. This is just for clicks and views.
A steroid abuser criticizing another steroid abuser. Wild.
You say he doesn't live a lavish life.
Have you not seen his home setup?
You know that gym he films in... he owns that... it's next to the lake on his home property
It's not that big, especially if you compare it to Jujimufu's home gym. Now that's a gym.
@andrewzach1921 true but living in the middle of nowhere North Carolina(not sure where he lives exactly) vs living on the water is an insane real estate price difference. Either way they’re both doing better than me haha
Calm down 😂 blowing hard
Well done Greg
Couch Greg doing the "Hawk Thui" befor GTA6 is insane 😭😭
Hopefully you learn how to spell tuah before GTA 6 😭😭😭
So unfunny please go outside
6:30 my alcoholic mom who didnt even make it into her mid 50s would say this all the time. Please be honest and take care of yourselves. Get help if you cannot stop. ❤️🙏
The only real offense here is the price of the damn book, at 150$ it's the most expensive cookbook I've ever seen (And I've bought other specialized cookbooks).
Love you Greg but dang, those ferraris are getting out of hand!
Why don’t you buy the cheaper of the several books that I have for 4999 instead of the most recent up-to-date hard copy one. There are several different price points
@@gregdoucette I guess because when I visited your website that was not made clear, I legitimately thought that was the only option.
@@Mama_esta_presa I guess I need a better website designer than last time because there’s multiple books at multiple different prices and I even have a free date in training program nearly 50 pages in length of which nearly 100,000 people have gotten.
Guess you've never been to college
when you first see it and you don't know how dieting works that's what people think, you think they just replaced recipes with sugar free this and that. But once you actually follow it you realize it's actually a discount coaching plan in disguise and it will change your life. Actually, it's better because the recipes are way better than most coaching plans. I meant it's a discount Greg's coaching plan.
It's totally worth the money, it will follow with you the rest of your life. It actually will make you lose weight and keep it off. And there are so many clever recipes it is so worth the money. No one could have came up with anabolic french toast.
If it's too much money, I suggest buying the recipes separate on the website for the ones you like.
Dude...if the study said athletes "presumed" to be on steroids, it means...there are non steroid users being thrown in with actual users.
Presumed because they can't say that they were because the athletes would be disqualified from every competitions.
Awesome personality aside, Coach Greg is a breath of fresh air on the internet. No lies, complete ownership of his past use. and giving everyone the real down low on what these drugs do. I have so much respect for this man who seems genuinely concerned about peoples health. True champions in this day and age are people that espouse the unadulterated truth in an ocean of lies and deception. and hes funny as fuck! I love this guy. Keep doing your work good sir. you motivate us all.
Ofc Greg wants to make money, sell his stuff, advertise it all the freakin time BUT in videos Like this, hes always Right a 💯! Fuck all these shittalking, shit taking jerks praising and/or downplay peds! More realtalk than last time! 💪😈👏
Careful his own circle jerk fans will come here and hawk tuah on you!
Clicking harder than last time
i swear there is no one more real than coach greg, honestly the only youtuber i actually trust
excited for a new greg video this gonna be fire
Yeah, it's extremely difficult being natural and people saying it's fine. I push hard 5 days a week for 2 lbs of muscle per month if I am lucky.
Brilliant video. Hopefully more people see it
I have so much love and so much respect at levels you’ll not understand with this simple text. Thank you Greg for your sincerity and bravery.
Coach Greg we need more of you
Coach Greg, even more logical than last time!
"Circle Jerks" is crazy 😂😂😂
That opening edit cut absolutely killed me. I am going to hell. Thanks, Coach Greg. 😭☠️
TRT plus
My cardiologist said he treats patients taking roids, their blood is as thick as syrup. I don't think that can be good for the heart if you ask me.
also called "sludging" . When red blood cell levels are too high, it can lead to poor circulation and an increased risk of high blood pressure, blood clots, stroke, and heart attack
Sounds like they need to drink more water.
Hearing these "ghost stories" is hilariously embarrassing.
Tell you u didn't watch the whole video lol
Where’s the pin of shame Greg 😂
Dont even try. Hobbits will come to attack you because they are like a cult. Clueless but loyal to the promotor hobbit.
I think you’re right, Mike is addicted and I think these videos will help the community and Mike himself. I’m calling it, he will thank you one day
Straight Jorking it harder than last time
Dr. Mike does have very recent content on RP stating that steroids do, in fact, shorten your life and isn’t worth with it for pretty much everyone. It’s unfortunate to see Menno promoting steroids as non-harmful.
Acting like Rich didn't even exist.
Just know this is very rare my history shows I pretty much disagree with Greg all the time but he is 100% correct on this
Love this. I like the message.
He could let people fall on their own sword 🗡️
Mike believes within a couple decade we'll be able to cure almost anything, maybe that's why he does it and don't thinks it's too big a deal. I think it's stupid too but I do think it should be his choice
This Menno guy is highly delusional.
never trust a pencill neck
Coach Greg, you are learning what I'm realizing now and more often... wisdom is a rare and precious thing, and the most ignorant are often the loudest.
Proverbs 18:2
A fool does not delight in understanding, but only in airing his opinions.
It’s hard for them to admit the truth and easier to believe your own bs. I’m wiling to bet that being on steroids is just as dangerous if not more than being morbidly obese.
I'd love to know the facts about that
I don’t think so of course it depends on the dose but being morbidly obese is in general way worse
It's because of you coach Greg, I'll never use steroids. Without you I would of
More hawk tuah than last video. I'm here for it!
If something messes up the quality of life, yet one still can’t stop, that’s clearly an addiction right there
watching this faster than last time
Honestly it often depends on the individual and family history.
Thank you for being a voice of reason Greg
I'm so sick of these AI comments
They do seem quite generic. Do you think they're actually AI?
As a general rule of thumb(not family), people who tell you stuff you like to hear aren't looking out for your well being. People who tell you the cold hard truth and are consistently honest usually are.
coach greg i have a question so
i get an allergy if i do physical exercise after eating (hives all over the skin ) so i cant go to the gym after eating but if i go on an empty stomach i wont have much energy and wont be able to push myself so what should i do
How long does the rash last? Can you try eating brown rice and a fatty steak like 2 or 3 hours out from the gym, so that hours later you feel better and energised?
sounds very harsh, it may be 'cholinergic urticaria' (which can spontaneously resolve in 2-3ys), does it happen when you start sweating or take a warm shower? How long does it persist? would see the doc to confirm and rule out any other condition
Maybe try switching diets
realy? I found myslef performing alost the same on emty stomach. maybe your diet is not that good overall
Empty stomach training is totally fine
Profiting from blasting steriods and telling you not to harder than last time.
Henselman chose to worry about the feelings of his buddy, than to give actual valid information. Henselman just lost a lot of respect.
I would just like to clarify that Most Dutch people are not this stupid
It's unfortunate that Mike is headed down this path because I watched his videos and they have helped me build muscle. The fitness industry needs a renaissance again with the rate steroids are purging it.
Keep doing you greg. Dissuade people from using. Its not worth it. You're daddy.
He did the Hawk tua again!
He needs to stop it 😂
Harder then last time on dat thang
Marijuana users often say they are not addicted, but they cannot abruptly stop using it for a year. Its component has some medical benefit, but it still is very addictive. Alcohol addicts, steroid addicts are no different.
Menno just responded to this and its pretty devastating for Greg
Greg you are an absolute genius at presentation.
Menno's point was specifically that the harm from low dose steroid use was less than the health benefit of being a trained athlete, hence they still lived longer than the general population. He wasn't saying that the steroids didn't shorted their lifespans, they could well have lived longer if they hadn't used them.
No, that’s a nuanced take, no time for nuance with Greg, just needs to jump to conclusions harder than last time
I like Greg personally but damn he is a moron at times.
5mins into Greg's vid i already understand what they were trying to say. They were not referring to body builders. Greg seems closed minds in this vid.
Hey! Don't do that! You're ruining gregs drama content!
i don't even have to watch the entire video... Menno wants Dr Mike faster than last time...
just let us know the date Dr Mike is going to marry him, it's not like Dr Mike hasn't put gay comments in his videos before (i'm not even joking)
Coach Greg 1000% right on this one.
Dr Mike said in one of his shorts that seed oils are one of the healthiest things you can eat lmao
Fr. He is a pharma junky. Also says the vax was good and being on bp meds is good cuz 'who cares when pharma can fix you'
As a joke or fr ??
@@itsBmano he’s serious lol
@@gravimasters8772 wow he is truly a retard
Eh, you clearly misunderstood Menno. Hè only said that on average people that do steroids have a more healthy lifestyle compared to people that don’t do them, so the upside of this healthier lifestyle has generally speaking, a bigger impact on health, than the downsides of the steroid usage.
lol so much drama and click bait titles. I miss when lifting channels lifted
You sound chronically online.
I've been saying this for so long. Greg's youtube is bad enough but his ig posts are even worse lmao
The ones that do have small channels lol
Lifting videos get the fewest clicks for fitness channels; because they aren't all that interesting.
@@philosophpascal yeah not everyone wants to watch u work out on their couch 😂
More people needs to watch this, especially teen boys I know so many young teens that workout that all are interested in steroids, they do not understand how dangerous it is, in the long term and even in shorter time. I have some bad examples of body builders that died before 40. Videos like this can help them realize they are not in for a good trip with steroids.
