1. A lot of laws are simply not enforced because cops and prosecutors prefer to focus on the bigger sexier crimes that make the news and make careers. Steroid use is nothing compared to the likes of murder or robbery. 2. Most people don't work out at at all, and even among the ones that do, there are many who are completely ignorant of steroid use. I'm sure you've met some members of the "I don't want to get too big" gang. Everybody who has tried getting big knows it's excruciatingly difficult. It's why people take 'roids. And if gym goers are that ignorant, imagine how much more ignorant the sedentary super-majority is. 3. Steroid use don't produce negative effects on others which means even if you arrested a guy like John Cena or the Rock and had him dead to rights, you still can't get a jury convict him for shooting up some tren unless he goes into roid rage and murders someone.
@@pedroadonish The WWE technically bans steroids but they didn't begin regular testing until the public scandal from Eddie Guerrero's death from heart faiure due to steroid abuse in 2005. They just want to avoid negative publicity from wrestlers dying due to excessive abuse or murdering their families in roid rage like Chris Benoit did. Even if you get caught, the penalty is very lenient: it's only a 30-day-ban. In pro-sports, failing a drug test gets you banned for an entire season and you lose all your endorsements forever. Fail again and you're looking at a lifetime ban. And yes, steroids are illegal in the US. They're schedule III narcotics. How do Americans take steroids if it’s illegal? Surely some pro bodybuilders would have been arrested??

Wrestling is not a sport. It's scripted entertainment. The results are predetermined anyway so the WWE doesn't care if you're juicing. Vince McMahon himself (the boss) is on juice.
It's one year in jail of you're found in possession without a doctor's prescription. But this is treated like prostitution. The laws are on the books but the police don't bother enforcing them.
