    Always like watching the tree service work and all the wood you get from them. Keep doing what you're doing. Hope the kids do great.

    Like you stated Brad, it's a constant cycle in the woodyard...out with the old and in with the new. Glad you have such a great relationship with your tree service!!

    Great video but,,,,,,, I wish you had your trailer closer to the pile for stacking. You have one of the cleanest wood yards I’ve seen. Keep the videos coming. 😉👍🇺🇸Dave from Maine.

    I am jealous as to how much ash you are able to get. I am adding another driveway at my camp on my brother's property that I bought (12 acres fully wooded). Looking forward to all of the trees that he is taking down. I am pretty much done milling ash from my friend Brad's place. 4 large logs left, but the centers separated from the outer 4 inches to I am going to just load onto my dump to bring up to camp for firewood. I love milling ash, it splits so nice.

    It’s too bad about the Ash trees, but it makes GREAT bundle wood! You’ll be cutting that for decades…. If it’s already bark-less, it’s quick turn around. I’ll split and stack it; wait a week or two and it’s ready to go. speaking of Ash; time to load up the saws! 🤜🏻🤛🏻🪵🪵🪵🪵🪵

    Nice load of wood. How’s your trailer bed holding up. I am looking at a south land trailer it got the support s going the other way like a dump truck. Just don’t know how well that style hold up. Give them mission cooling hats a try. They are a life saver when it’s hot out. Keep up the good work.

    I am new to all of this so I know very little, but I would spot the trailer closer to the stack so I didn’t have to take 5 or 6 steps to get to the pile. Is there some reason you want the trailer a few paces from the stack?

    The wood yard is filling up quickly again. Do you think you'll every stack wood in the empty space in your existing stacks?

    • @FirewoodattheFurnace
      @FirewoodattheFurnace  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like having the air gap between the stacks. I think it helps with drying

    Hello Mr. Brad, I could not hear it if you said, so it appears that the real big logs went to a saw mill?, it is good if they did. I myself do not relish the work of working the BIG diameter logs for firewood, you get a lot of wood but the time and effort spent working them is exponentially greater for the same amount of wood that I get from smaller rounds. looks like you hooked up with the right people, they have ALL the right equipment.

    • @amandadavis9726
      @amandadavis9726 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah,…but it’s not as bad if your splitter has a box wedge. I could see where you’d prefer not to bother with them if you have a regular wedge.

    Good morning Brad I have a small suggestion for your new wood stand. Instead of putting posts in the corners like you said, you might consider making two short walls running widthwise (2x4 and 1x6 construction-basically a better looking pallet), with a longer wall running between them that divides the trailer in half. You can then build partition walls and place them according to your needs, and if you screw those in place, you have the option of changing the interior configuration if the need arises. Once everything is in place, a perimeter top band will lock everything in place, and support the roof assembly. Roof trusses are easily built with 2x4s and scrap plywood for gussets, and will give you a nice looking, long lasting roof if you use the tin you already have on hand. Good luck to the kids in their respective tournaments this weekend.

      I know a couple of tree services in the area where I live do just that. They cut all spring, summer, and fall then cut, split, and stack during the winter months to keep the crews working during the slower months. Also helps pay the bills and keeps the crews working.

    I’m confused brad you have the commercial log splitter with log lift why aren’t you taking the shit that’s 24 inches and bigger yes, it takes more time to cut and sometimes you have to have two people for splitting but the amount of wood I get out of a trunk round is sometimes over 30 pieces it’s even easier if you have 5 pieces box wedge

  • @JoesFirewoodVideos
    @JoesFirewoodVideos ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Couldn’t you get the dump trailer any closer than that? The 5 steps each way add up fast.
