That's pretty normal for western saw mills as well. Saw dust in a big open area like this warehouse isn't going to give you cancer without a massive amount of exposure. I would be rather interested to see what happens when an earthquake makes all this saw dust gets powdered and fall from the rafters and what happens when it encounters an ignition source.
Operated a woodworking factory in Vietnam for 5 years. Bought all the workers PPE but they sold it .n Not even a splinter in 5 years, 30 workers and numerous projects. They do everything their way
Such a big and heavy operation, no osha/no ppe, and no one got hurt? LOL :) Americans need full body armor, and every move has to be inspected, and the equipment has to be the most up to date, and mandatory breaks in a safe area that is monitored by cameras... so funny to read the comments :) lots of love!
It amazes me how these people can do major work like this without wearing any PPE, sandals? Ball caps really? OSHA would have a field day with these guys. Why protect your feet, head and hands. Geeze
A good awareness of your work environment is better safety and protection then any ppe could provide although at bare minimum I'd be wearing some boots😂👍
A green line laser, these guys are pushing this through manually. Instead of crying about losing a tree, pray the blade doesnt snap and cut the top guy in half, happened in Chester,Vt.
Its a beautiful Tree and wood and yes it is sad to think of all the years it lived, then men cut it down for profit. There are two sides to everything though and nature provides for us to use its bounty. Wood is one of the most important products for Human use. I owned an Angling Boat and when I caught a good Fish, I often thought about it just swimming around then I put a hook in it and killed it but it never stopped me enjoying a lovely tasty fresh Cod fillet. Its all just the natural cycle of Life, given to us by God.
That isn't a repeatable business, it takes 1000 years or more for one of those trees to grow ... that means you have to wait ... another 1000 years or more to cut down another one .... choose 'farmed timber' and leave old forest to be old forest for our children to enjoy & inherit.
This looks like one of the trees the Chinese used to build the Emperor's Palaces and the other magnificent structures before the knowledge of steel and concrete replaced them as building materials.
It is very easy to be critical of cutting down this wonderful tree or the lack of safety equipment. It comes down for these men to feed your family or cut down the tree or even buy safety gear. There is know no-one that would choose the tree over feeding your family.
Humans can make choices. Because of the society we live in today, most can only think about how to survive today. Most can't think about tomorrow because they're too busy surviving today. Sad state of humanity.

The way the expert demonstrates how to master circular saw blades for wood block cutting is simply mesmerizing. I've learned so many valuable techniques that I can't wait to apply to my own projects. Thank you for sharing such invaluable knowledge!"
IF this whole thing is so smart why couldn't they have a giant rotary saw to cut across. A saw that's equal to the diameter of the giant tree. Just slice thru like an ordinary electric saw. Man has invented many amazing agricultural giant machine & u gonna tell me they still use an ordinary chain saw??? Paaaleeese! Btw, tragic that man feels they can kill a 1000+ year old tree. (Frm NZ)
Wow... The tree is really really big. There are many big trees like this in our country, especially in Kalimantan/Borneo region. But in Java island in which I live, it's very rare.
Fun fact: This video is not sped up, it is in realtime. The thing is, that log is extremely dense, made of neutron star matter. Due to the extreme mass, time flows slower there than it does here.
That tree was for sure still alive when they cut it. We learned the hard way in the states that you can cut down 1000 year old tree's much faster then they grow. The industry must stick to fast growing tree's or it literally eats its self.
@@jamesesdaile4696 if tree is dead most tree couldnt be used for wood shops , you have to cut down tree 3-5 years before it dead if not it will be a waste , you understand you tree lover

Yes it is I live in the Appalachian mountain and heard stories from my grandfather how huge some of the old trees were back then. Only ones left are so far from people they may not be found
What is sad is the fact that people like yourself criticize everything based on one sided views. What can we do until the process that allows us to conserve our natural resources? Move out of your home and stop using electricity or any form of energy. Hunt with a rock if YOU want pal, Trees are being planted everywhere and forestry management has changed so just stop with the nonsense. I don’t care if the world is here in 100 years, I really don’t. It matters not to me and I didn’t ask to be born either. We all have opinions
I don’t care what part of the world you’re in- when you’re working in a sawmill and lumber yard you better wear steel toed boots and a helmet. Not just a helmet with flip flops or sandals and a base ball cap! That’s crazy dangerous!
You know we have some amazing tree species right here in the USA. And more than likely sourced by someone responsible. These kinda outfits are what bring down our economy and climate. Check out your own backyard 😊
I am thinking that tree is much less than 1,000 years old as it is a tropical wood.... which grows much faster than wood in colder climates with less rain...... they grow all year long unlike cold climate wood that only grows in spring and summer and the grotwh greatly depends on the amount of rain...
While this is impressive, it is incredible to see how the US used to be 100 years ago. We were also hungry for income, worked with some danger, and did not have to have expensive equipment to do things. I am a woodworker, but sad to see that kind of tree taken so some workers could eat and others could profit massively.
As much as I love working with 'exotic' hardwoods, it really is a shame to cut down a tree that old and that magnificent.
Hear you it was probably hundreds of years old if not more
Kevin Lawton. We will never learn. Money and greed drives us inexorably on.
From the look of the remaining bark I would say it was diseased.
Course the 40 or so logs around it probably weren't.
Agreed 🫤
OSHA would just love this operation.

bullshit
I love that they wear sandals while working like this!
Wearing sandals let's you get away faster in case things go belly-up!
Love the safety footwear, nice flipflops
There’s some barefoot action there too!
Just be careful and no one gets hurt.
Yet... they work twice as hard as an American and get more done.
