So thankful for this top 10. I love when people tell their favorite stories, especially in a group setting. This is the best episode in a long line of already good ones. Thanks so much for sharing!!
I've listened to many many dice tower vids, and this one is by far my favorite! You guys really gave the feels... nerd passion, family memories, real fun with friends. Thank you!
Thank you. I love gaming for those memorable experiences and very much appreciate you personal and sometimes sentimental stories and moments. This makes the Dice Tower stand out. I remember a vacation with my family to Denmark. While my sons - very young at that time - were fast asleep and my wife and I had finished a game and I went on the internet to look for some similar game and got stuck on three stange fellas talking about board games in a garage using a Top 10 format- well what should I say... I found hundreds of great games and stayed a fan of the Dice Tower ever since....
This was great. I rewatched multiple moments in this top ten because there were so many unexpected laughs. Tom, Zee, Travis and Mike were the right quartet for this list and Joey was the right celebrity cameo for this list.
9:20 For reference: Tom is referencing Shylock from Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice" (not to be confused with Eric Summerer's "The Merchant of Venus"). Although the more apt comparison for Mike's behavior would be the villainous counselor Iago from Shakespeare's "Othello" (not to be confused with the GIPF series' grandpa "Othello"). I assume Zee -- being a former theatre teacher -- knew this, but remain silent because he found it hilarious.
Tom talking about the first 24 hour marathon was actually incredibly nostalgic for me. And I wasn't even there! I mean, I was watching, but a surprising amount of nostalgia.
Great video. Totally felt for Tom when real zombies were mentioned - that moment where everyone around you just nods along and you are left thinking ‘errrr have I been missing something all this time!?’
I like the Dice Tower theme. This version makes me get the same feeling I got when my favorite Saturday morning cartoons came on. I would dance on my couch and sing the tune out loud as the theme song started. Its a good feeling to capture again. Don’t spill your cereal.
Out of curiosity, what does Travis Oates/Above Board do? I know he is in Above Board but thay channel has relatively few subscribers, and he is referring to a tv show that was meant to happen. I am clearly out of the loop so am curious if anyone can fill me in
I've also got a copy of AH Starship Troopers which I've had since 1978. In all that time, I've only managed to coerce 2 people to play the first scenario with me... They were my 2 daughters!
Travis seems like a really nice guy, but his "gaming" memories were more of like, "I want to tell you this story about me, so I'll throw in a game after 15 min of talking about my life " every single time. 😮💨 Mike filling in the others' silence with "oohs" and "ahhs" shows that they were zoning out when Travis spoke.
#3 of playing Hearts in the Canadian wilderness while listening to a stranger and a father exchange crazy stories sounds awesome, but the science of that stranger and his zombie research has always been pretty suss considering it was never proven, his samples didn't match his research, and it was never able to be replicated. Much like if that daytime basic cable advertised pill actually made you lose weight and erase wrinkles it wouldn't be just on daytime basic cable ads, if there was a mystical folk medicine that could fake deaths and turn people into loyal servants then you'd probably be hearing about it in something other than an 80's horror movie or a fabulous Dice Tower top ten.
I hate to be negative but this guest was one big self-important eye roll. Ruined an otherwise excellent DT Top 10. Also please bring back the former transitions!
How did the Dice Tower manage to snag Major Internet Celebrity Mike DiLisio?!? Very impressive!
Definitely adds a certain "DiLisio factor" to the episode!
“That’s outrageous!” TM
A modern classic
I won't stand for that... But I will sit for it!
Look, I've got a bone to pick with the Scots, let me tell you, and it has not been resolved yet!

Amazing episode. Great stories, tons of laugh-out-loud moments. Well done, Dice Tower crew!
I love game shows! Tom if you make it there as a host I will 100% watch!
Thank you all for the stories! Great episode!
2 hours of wonderful stories and amazing vibes. Thank you!

This video is full of all of the joy and positivity that one could hope for. Thanks!

That MegaGame at Dice Tower Con was super fun!
This was great! Loved Travis too.
When do we get a Dice Tower Midwest?
Travis's #7 almost put a tear in my eye. Very heart touching. I love it.
I like the Dice Tower theme. This version makes me get the same feeling I got when my favorite Saturday morning cartoons came on. I would dance on my couch and sing the tune out loud as the theme song started. Its a good feeling to capture again. Don’t spill your cereal.
I ALWAYS remember Jason not shutting up, and Tom going, "Jason! That's enough!" 😂😂😂
What a great theme for a top 10 list :) Great stuff gents!
I forgot how amazing this video was. I was trying to do a hold nap with my baby girl while listening to this and kept laughing 😂
Such a great video!
Love Travis' #8. My 4 year old's favorite game is Dwellings of Eldervale. He understands exactly enough of the game to buy the wizard and dragon.
Would love to see a Condottiere review of the new edition.
Mike can’t hit a rock, that’s quite memorable
Classic😂
Sky drive board gaming. Problem is not the falling, it's the .... losing the game pieces. (Gotcha!)

Wish we could've heard zee's story of him and Tom playing dungeon fighter by themselves in Tom's game room lol
I was waiting for Zee to talk about the plunger.......
Please keep your stop-motion animations, they are so much better!
The Resistance: Avalon gave us some memorable plays. So did 1st edition A Study In Emerald. And especially Imperial 2030.
Great video
depending on how long ago you played gloomhaven it might be fine. the game has gotten alot more optimized.
Noble Knight always has some copies of the SPI War of the Ring.
ALSO, Starship Troopers was Avalon Hill. I have a copy. Come over sometime :).
I've also got a copy of AH Starship Troopers which I've had since 1978. In all that time, I've only managed to coerce 2 people to play the first scenario with me... They were my 2 daughters!
Please more Travis!!! Very rarely do I comment and I gotta say I absolutely love that dude!
Yeah, miss those teen days of games could run forever every weekend
Travis played a game with Wade Davis!? This is a huge name drop for me as a Canadian CBC-radio listener from B.C.
Bring some vino for Tom, PRONTO!
Electra is like that annoying boss that you spend ages fighting, only for them to reveal that they have a second health bar
Too bad this list wasn’t done now. Tom’s new number 1 would be his “I win” card in Space Base he finally won with at Dice Tower West
Travis seems like a really nice guy, but his "gaming" memories were more of like, "I want to tell you this story about me, so I'll throw in a game after 15 min of talking about my life " every single time. 😮💨
Mike filling in the others' silence with "oohs" and "ahhs" shows that they were zoning out when Travis spoke.
Who knew Tom Vasel is straight Edge. Also he looks like the front man of a Ska Band.
I knew he didn't drink but I thought he at least had tasted beer and wine but apperantly not.
It appears that NobleKnight has some copies of War of the Ring. They're not cheap, but they have them.
I loved the #5 story of Travis, such a cool experience!
Hey Mike, if you are ever told to kick rocks, you can tell them that is impossible, you have never hit a rock. Factual counter!
Mitch Hedberg!

The guest has quite an over-the-top laugh..
I love it! Travis is really funny 👍
I love it, it was contagious when he was full on laughing his ass off.
Imagine judging someone's laugh
@@JonReid01 I don't have to imagine. Cuz that's exactly what I did
17:25
I would love to see a new playtrough of the gloomhaven video game.
Sound quality, please! Too much clipping
1:34:29 sorry to break ti to you but thts all bunk
Having played a game before is not a reason to crush new players imo
Zees Magic The Gathering story is very similar to whats happened to me whenever I played Star Wars The Minitures game ,way too serious.
Mike is a man of the people
No, that's Zee.
Travis #1 is... so so great. I wish I have consistent board game friends so I can play some PnP RPG.
“Was it in English or British?” Is that American for “was it in American or English?” 😂
No, that was American for "a joke"
Fair enough - I was genuinely wondering if that’s the normal way of describing American English and British English in US
