    We absolutely LOVE your design! I didn't see a cut list. Would you be able to share that? My husband built me a gorgeous island and for more than it costs, I can buy similar stools. UGH! I really want him to make me some and a cut list will make it so he doesn't have to figure it out and take forever with it. :)

    The 3rd screwdriver you picked up actually shows on the top that it is a screwdriver. All my screwdrivers and nut drivers actually show slotted/phillips/standard/metric markings on the top part of the handle. Klein and Stanley are the brands I use. I will definitely be making 6 of these chairs for a huge 6 feet wide and 44 inch tall wire spool I just acquired. Awesome video and chairs.

  • @JoeHiltabidel

    I've started this build. I've made the cuts and after making the first glue-up, realized there may be a mistake in the voice over of the video. At 1:45 seconds you show the lumber that is needed. You show two 13", two 13 1/2", and two 14 1/2" 1x3's.
    At 2:58 you show pocket holes being drilled in the 1x3's but you don't show the 13 inch 1x3's at that point.
    At 3:15 you say to USE the 13 1/2 1x3's on the sides.
    I did that -- I've glued and screwed that wood to the back legs. I'm not sure if that's a voice over mistake or not because in the next step you also say to use the 13 1/2 1x3's. There were only two total on the cut list.
    At 3:45 you say to attach the 13 1/2 1x3's... as mentioned above. So I'm assuming I'm either supposed to attach the 14 1/2's here OR I was supposed to attach the 14 1/2's at the 3:15 mark? I'm not sure...
    At 4:15 you're attaching 13 1/2 2x2's and this is the concerning part because it leads me to believe the 3:15 voice over is a mistake and it's currently drying in my garage. Can you clarify the cuts?
    At 5:40 you use the 13" 1x3's.
    But what never gets mentioned in the video are the 14 1/2" 1x3's other than to cut them. So you likely used them in the video and when voicing over, mentioned a different cut or something, not sure.

    • @DIYMAN
      @DIYMAN  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey man, Im so sorry! I made a mistake! At 3:45, you should be attaching the 14.5” 1x3s to the front and back.
      Also, you need three 13” 1x3s. The video kinda cuts that bottom one out of the pic if you’re not really watching for it.
      Also, those don’t need pocket holes. They make up the three boards on the back of the chair. I used a small nail gun to attach those.
      I will try to get cards up to let people know about the mistake! Sorry you had to deal with that!

    How would you adjust these measurements for a counter top height table? Where the seat top is 24” off the ground.

    • @DIYMAN
      @DIYMAN  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cut the front legs at 22.5” and the back legs at 44.” Subtract 4” from the bottom of the measurement when marking the back legs. Then join the side bracing at 22.5” I believe this would be all you need to do to change it

    • @DIYMAN
      @DIYMAN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Make sure that you add it to the bottom of the back leg measurement, then make sure that bracing is moved accordingly 👌

      Yes, there is a mistake in the video. At the 3:45 mark, you should attach the 14.5” 1x3s to the front and back. I think I incorrectly said 13.5” 1x3s. There is a card showing the error if you watch it on a desktop version, but I’m afraid to edit the video using TH-cam. Every time I do that, the video becomes corrupted and can no longer be watched.

      That is definitely the hardest part. I’ve cut them slightly larger than my lines in the past and sanded down to the line. It’s a little more work, but it can make them look a little nice. You could also set up a jig on the table saw, but that’s a lot of work unless you are building them for a living
