Over the years, I had over 100 TH-camrs that I saved and followed. Had way too many. Decided to cut my list down to 15. You made the cut just because your videos are awesome and I actually use some of your hacks. Thank you for all you do.
I use paperclips all the time dragging they're a time saver when going through the thick stuff. Also replaced a zipper gripper on a jacket and used a piece of shrink tubing to pretty it up. Now I know 9 more hacks. Thanks.
Spokane fly fishing federation had a meet-up and a member left his rod home. Made a survival rod with a tree branch and paper clips. They used leader to hold on the eyelets/paper clips. Day saved.
Keith, Have you ever purchased a rod and it doesn't have a hook holder on it down by the reel so you have to hook your lure on one of the line eyes. Well paper clip #12 you can cut a paper clip bend both ends and either tape the paper clip on the rod or wrap it with fly tying thread. Now you have a place for your lure. Thanks for showing those 11 hacks ~ Two thumbs up. Tight Line
Hey Keith! Another great video, using something as simple as a paper clip with just a little imagination. I'm sure many of us have probably already used the ol' paper clip zipper pull hack for our jeans and jackets. Now I have a better use for all those paper clips I've accumulated from all of the paperwork I've had to do over the years.👍
Add any heavier sinker with an eyelet on to a paperclip, and you have yourself a lure knocker if you are hung up. Guide your line in the paperclip, and hold your rod tip high to get the momentum.
Hey, Keith, happy New Year. Great hacks, again. Looking forward to another good year of hacks and Cranky words of widom. God bless ya'll and stay safe on your travels to get these videos done. 👍👍
I use the elastic hair ties for zippers. I also use them instead of rubber bands. They don't rot and they are like little bungee cords (I just steal them from my wife). 😁
I got tired of buying rubber bands every year so I went ti Amazon and got 100 hair ties very cheap, it’s so much better, been using the same ones for a few years and have tons left
A bit of advice on the Tokyo rig. If you fish around wood, down trees, limbs etc… use a pointed bullet weight. Round, football or egg shaped weights tend to wedge themselves on any Y shaped wood it contacts. The way it’s made in this video, a wedged weight will pull off bit if you don’t wanna keep replacing weights…
Hey Keith, another awesome video. I missed the No-Knot-Connector. It's very easy to make from a paper clip and you doesn't have to tie a knot everytime you change your bait. Maybe next time 😉 Nice greetings from Germany!
I don't know how I missed this video. These are some awesome tips , I use a few of them. But that rod tip repair was AWESOME. I never thought of that. My notifications got turn off some how. Great video My friend.
I've even made a hook while bass fish out of a paper klip it worked so well kept it in my tackle box. Thank you so much for video's. My daughter and I can't wait to watch them. Keep up the good work 💪💪💪
Another good use for paperclips I'd recommend is if you use baitcasters or conventional reels and need to take the reel off the rod to travel with them, you can tie the end of your line to a paperclip instead of buying those buckle stoppers.
The N/S thing, it really is just that. If it isn't done exactly right, like at just one end, I have seen some people head south. Double check it with the rising of the sun/setting.
"Its Japaneeese..." youre killin' me. And I dig the One Cent Tokyo rig. Maybe a large washer would do the same? In the UK they call the bobbers on the line - "bobbins." I dunno.. they just do. But its a cool tip. Shared this in my group and saved it
Not paper clips but I been using copper wire for most of this for years. Being an electrician I just toss the longer trimings in my tool pouch and bring them home. Freebie is the best price.
Ive replaced my rod tip with a paper clip before but i wipped it onto the outside of the rod with braided line and super glue still use that rod to this day works great and dosnt look half bad tried to make it look nice when i did it
Thanks for the video Keith. Stuck in the house here in Tennessee dag gum snowbound, and here came your video. At least I can watch your videos. Did you really git jiggy wit it? lol
Hey Sir! Love your videos! And your little fishing lure helper buddy that tells jokes! He’s awesome!!!! I was so Seeing if your gonna be at Catcon 2024 in Louisville Ky? Would love to meet you! Thanks
Well hello BILLY how the hell are you first time I talk to you since the 2024 year began. I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year. I look I’m kinda under the weather right now and I don’t really feel like talking a bunch but y’all take care. I will catch you later on, keep your line🎣🎣
My favorite video hacks. I also use a paper clip as a sinker slide on the line. Using small ones will be weak enough to pull free and save your terminal tackle. I also drill holes in small sections of tire weights... thread them on the paper clip.... then wrap the other end of the paper clip clip around the line.... cheapest sliding sinker I know.... know what I mean? You know what I mean.... just saying....
A tiny snap swivel modified hillbilly style, will replace the paper clip an ya don’t need to take yee bobber apart! We fish for trout in lakes that same way here in the hills 😝🇺🇸😎🤠👊
Happy New Year . Those was some good Hacks. I just tried the compass one cause I was like no way and sure enough it really does work. Ol Cranky with his jokes 😂 . Keep doing what ya do and keep the hacks and diy builds coming.. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I use a split ring and a piece of Paracord to replace broken zip pulls.
You have the absolute Best channel on TH-cam. I really enjoy the Fishin Hacks. Keep up the great videos and ideas.
Thank you very much
On the Tokyo rig ,remove the weight and add a blade, makes it like a bottom blade spinner. Keep the vids coming, luv em

It’s amazing that your homemade compass points north when you know which direction is north.
You may have saved someone's life with #2! 🙏❤🇺🇸⛵👣🤗
😁

Thank you Sir , I think your right about the washer. But honestly it's hard to find a washer for 1 cent lol . Cheaper to use money
Not paper clips but I been using copper wire for most of this for years. Being an electrician I just toss the longer trimings in my tool pouch and bring them home. Freebie is the best price.

Good job. 😇👍
Handy tips.
very good stuff.
Cool ideas!
Also you can put a piece of shrink tube on the paper clip if your using it on a zipper to make it easier to grab/see
Thanks for the video Keith. Stuck in the house here in Tennessee dag gum snowbound, and here came your video. At least I can watch your videos. Did you really git jiggy wit it? lol
Great video. Thanks
Expandable braided sleeving can be used for a rod sleeve
I had that on a hack video about 4 years ago I think 🤔
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Are you going to be in Louisville next month

I'm sorry I missed your comment . I was really busy before CatCon . And the answer is yes lol
grate stuff
Nice video.
Outstanding
Gettin Jiggy With it! 😂 👍👍
Lol
Hay on the zipper hack I use a key ring its bigger and ezyer for me to grasp.
make sure to take the plastic coating off your paper clips b4 you dump molten lead on them.

I like the paper clip because I can get it off my line fast and with one have
When I set the hook, it pops off. No hands! 👊
We actually have two dollar trees near us, the "good" one and the "bad" one. We're pretty cosmopolitan
Awesome

Yep I'm going to make a fishing buddy soon . After all this rain calms down . The last time I went there was trees floating fitec the lake lol
excellent
What’s up Happy New Year.

Does it not stand to reason that those Tokyo rigs could be cheapened further by tying on fishing line, knotted on the end?
pilers, duck tape and paper clips are all you need in a pinch
It's over when YOU say it's over.
Over and OUT!
I'm new to your channel and I really enjoy your hacks, tips, and tricks! Do you have a channel where you actually fish? I'm just sayin'. LOL
I don't do may fishing videos I do have fishing on my video sometimes . I'm going to be doing a catch and cook soon . But technically this is a DIY channel , you know what I'm sayin 😁
We always just put a bobber on a open swivel. It flies behind you when you set the hook and isn't in the way.
Just found another way to replace a zip pull. Zip pull broke whilst beach fishing. No split rings, paper clips. So just used a large snap link.
in scotland we used womans hair clips as eyes for weights
👍👍👍👍
I think I'm the first viewer 😅
LETS GO
Just curious what is the breaking strength of a paperclip as opposed to a snap? has anyone tested this?
Don’t paper clips rust quickly?
My question is who saves a penny for 4 years 😂😂
It got stuck in my TH-cam drawer lol
I run paracord (550 chord) through my zippers last longer and doesn’t get caught or tangled as easily and you get a knot to hold onto so it’s not slick
I still say that we need a full video of the lure doing the video
How do you tell which end in north
You can make a bait dehooker with a paper clip.
🤨😯😁
5:40 hahaha 🤣
I use Paracord for zippers
hello from minot nd
The last desert island i got stranded on didn't even have a paper clip shop 😂
😎👍🎣
Well it points north and south. How do you know which is which if the sun is clouded over. If the sun is not clouded over you don't need a compass.
The end you magnetized points north.
I am trying to find the video about some type of dissolving bait "bag/tube." I think that's the one...
Maybe this one
