That was a great breakdown for your fall season equipment Shawn. I truly appreciate how you & TQ take everything into consideration (costs, materials, labor, etc.) I’m looking forward to the fall season,& how much y’all progress from last year. Enjoy your Sunday,& have a safe, productive week.💯❤️👍🏾😀🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
Great tip to get started early! I saw the shortages and decided to start building the same setup right now. Just picked up a 7x14 dump yesterday (8/15). You guys are a huge inspiration to those of us trying to get off the ground! Blessings from out in Utah!
i didnt realise the cost would be that high but it is wel worth it . especially if you can pay for it in 2 seasons. not sure you can include the whole trailer cost in there. it can be used for all sorts of other work from stone and mulch jobs to winter and spring clean ups etc. its return on investment is a lot sooner than just using leaf clean up money to pay for it. your right about the aluminium sides. they will outlast the trailer . wood would be cheaper but you would be repairing and replacing bits of it every year and it wouldnt look at profetional when it starts to rot . you should get a small wood chipper that you can mount at the back and can feed in branchs and small debris . you would fit a lot more in the trailer that way and only have to go to the dump with it a lot less
You do have an amazing leaf loader set up. Combine that with the Toro 6000 with it's power bagger and ExMark LazerZ if you add a power bagger to it no leaf within 50 miles is safe. You can also use those machines to offer dethatching.
@@SpencerLawnCareYou have 2 perfect machines to do it. It is easy to do with a zero turn that has a remote dump bagger and the Billy goat can take it from there. Those spring clean-ups can add alot to your business. The dethatching also helps tremendously with the health of the lawn.
Love the whole leaf box set up and completely worth the cost. Hoping you saw my comment on the last video about the tarp and mesh set up. A bunch of people seem to like the idea and I think we’re all excited to see what you end up doing with it. Thanks for all the videos, advice, and work you show all of us everyday! We all appreciate it!
Some thing I am considering that you might also is… Not sure if this would be beneficial for you, but my business is primarily planting gardens and pollinator gardens and Meadows, etc… but I think you should take all of the leaves and pile them up and compost them, then sell the leaf mold back to customers or use on installation jobs. composted leaves are top notch compost just my two cents
...I'm a retired Plumber and I'm still watchin' y'all do yard work. There are a lots of smarts involved in running a business like yours. Quite honestly I think Savannaha might be the real brains of the outfit. As you say quite often " Just kidding"
Can you give us an idea of how much we should be charging for leaf cleanups? Just us small business, residential lawn care companies. No fancy dump trailers or Billy goats. Thanks for all you guys do for our community. I learned so much from your channel.
Im wondering if for that money, you could have gone to a state auction and picked up an f450 or f550 chipper truck and mounted billy goat on that. Still be in the 26k range
Great video Shawn, I was expecting more for all that! What are you going to name that unit nickens lawn and landscape is the leaf monster! At least you have Tyler this year for leaves also, can’t wait to see it this fall again!!!
Good evening Mr. Spencer, this is a little off topic, but, I am 17yo and was looking forward to the demo area at GIE expo this year!!! But..... I do not have my licence yet (parent rule) and I saw when I purchased the tickets that you have to have a valid licence in order to enter the demo area; which is frustrating 'cause I have logged many hours on a zero turn. Do you find that they adhere to that or is it overlooked? Any info that anyone can provide would be appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!!
Only thing that I would have done different. Was the way you mounted the leave vac on? I would have had something mounted in the front. A tray because when you dump The trailer, the oil and the gas move around. That's why I would've made a tray up over the box. Where the back is stationary? It is not going to go anywhere. That's the only thing I would have done different. I had a 14 foot trailer by 5 and I had it mounted in the front. Never had a problem with the vac, and it worked fantastic.
Ok, run a roll off dumpster system and looking to move into debris/leaf removal, how many cubic yard is your set-up? And what is your suggestion for a good size?
I put a wooden box together on a 1 ton dump giant vac twin kohler 12 inch hose cost $3,500 every thing but the dump . Mounted it to the front of the dump the best !! 39 years ago and still works better than your $28,000 dollar unit all day long.
@@tylerk.7947 no your wrong the vac cost used about $2000 dollars with out the dump still build it for the same cost . Its called working, build the box your self .
Ya btw don’t buy a dually with that trailer that’s my problem right now I’m 20 years old from Buffalo NY and I bought a new dually and have a suretrac 14k 14-7-4 trailer for landscaping and junk Removal and now my combined GVRW is 27k which really sucks honestly because I spent so much on the truck and trailer so ya gotta watch the weight I’m going for my CDL now because I want to keep my truck
Better be planning a year ahead now. I picked up 3 new Ferris mowers this March and ordered a 4th in early May. That 4th mower still hasn’t arrived. It’s so hard to predict lead times anymore.
I think all the equipment that y'all use is awesome I like the leaf trailer that y'all got setup just let y'all know I watch all the videos I'm from Florida
I looked it up today and the liberty dump is 14.9 and the billy goat is 9700. Yikes! The material to build the box is probably 20 percent higher. im thinking about 35k
Hi Shawn, I am from the same area as you and was wondering were you took your dump trailer and leaf loader to get modified. I picked up a dump trailer at the beginning of the year and just got my Scag leaf loader.
For those of you that pray or do whatever you do, could you pray for me because I am really really sick and have to get a COVID retest tomorrow and I have a strong feeling that I have it. I got a test Thursday and it was a rapid and I didn’t trust it so now I have to get a retest and I have a bad feeling.
That tax write off over the next ten years will really help you. you should see some refund years if you make your quarterly estimates properly and have a good CPA. keep buying things so you can work smarter!
You have to think…. $20k for something that will last 20 years is nothing. It’s worth every penny plus you don’t have to work your but off raking, bagging, and unloading. It takes money to make money plus this is something you can pass on to your son so that’s paying for it by itself. Generation
Sorry...$26k id not worth the investment in my eyes. Not worth it when you could be doing something else like irrigation repairs and winterizations with nearly $0 investment. It will take many Leaf cleanups to pay for it.

Welcome back Sunday evening👍 August 15th 7:30 p.m.⛈
It has been a beautiful day. Have a great night
Awesome info and video Shawn. When you’re dumping with the does it tend to pretty rear end heavy? Seem like it might be to me. Just curious!!
Any equipment that can save an extra employee or 2 is worth the investment..... Your biggest expense is labor costs... Also the largest headache
Im wondering if for that money, you could have gone to a state auction and picked up an f450 or f550 chipper truck and mounted billy goat on that. Still be in the 26k range

Idk what we will name it. And the extra hands this fall will be great!
@@SpencerLawnCare I was thinking leaf shredder or leaf destroyer with leaves in a tornado

I’m not sure man but I’m sure if you talk to them they might not have an issue.
@@SpencerLawnCare I SURE hope they won't!!!!! Super pumped to go!!!! Maybe i'll see you 'round!
You need to put some kind of casters on the bottom of that hose to manuver it a little easier or your back will be toast in no time
I agree we need to figure that out lol

Does it cost you anything to get rid of the leaves and how much your trailer weigh full load

$3500.39 years ago adjusted for inflation is right about $28,000 😂

A great "leafy" video as always. Glad you were able to take a day off over the weekend
It was very relaxing!!
I LOVE the trailer setup!!! I'm needing to make something for leaf an debris removal...Ivys Yard Service
Nice hope you come up with something

Dump trailer
Does that 10 year plan include the money needed to replace it all at year 11? Or is that going to be another 1.75 seasons to build that equity
Better be planning a year ahead now. I picked up 3 new Ferris mowers this March and ordered a 4th in early May. That 4th mower still hasn’t arrived. It’s so hard to predict lead times anymore.
Just a wee idea. The leafs you pick up rather than throwing them away you could crush them and resell as fire logs. Hey presto money out of waste.
That thing I'd amazing, love the top. Looks really functional, and great for driving it around!
I think all the equipment that y'all use is awesome I like the leaf trailer that y'all got setup just let y'all know I watch all the videos I'm from Florida
Great job and Hello from Southern Oklahoma!
Thank you Brandon have a great night

I just can't believe how many leaves you can get in that trailer! Wow!
How’s it going Spencer lawn care
It’s going great how is your day?
That is sweet! I bought a smaller one for my facility before I retired and it was money well spent!
I am saving up for a fs 94 and br350 I am so excited! I am 13 btw! Not to brag!😂😂 great video Spencer!!
Hi Shawn, I am from the same area as you and was wondering were you took your dump trailer and leaf loader to get modified. I picked up a dump trailer at the beginning of the year and just got my Scag leaf loader.
Look up Mike Nussbaum in Orrville.
Are you billing per hour on leaf cleanups or by the job (flat rate)
How do you no how to pay yourself and what to keep as for company money? You are such positive people to watch keep up the great work.
The time you make your money back is when everything is paid for. Great video and have a great evening 👍.
Absolutely!!!
Just with the logo for the backing have you thought of black wrap in stead of paint
Thanks for the info.😊
Hi I watch your video everyday tell the team I said hi and I watch their video everyday I love you guys I love the video it is Hanley
Thanks bud have a great night
Knowing your limited space, could you pick up your road salt and store it in the trailer?
Will y’all use your zone tern lawn mowers this summer
Not sure when we will use them
10k trailer or 26k combined, you DO need a CDL as per federal regulations!
For those of you that pray or do whatever you do, could you pray for me because I am really really sick and have to get a COVID retest tomorrow and I have a strong feeling that I have it. Very informative! Good video!
Thanks Johnny
Love your videos keep it up
Thanks Gavin, have a great night
Are you geting pallets of salt or piles of salt this year?
But your trailer can be used for other things all year to help on the cost. Good info thx
Are you going to use the baggers this year and the debris loader set up?
Where is the store bro? I'm interested in one leaf vacuum!!!!
So it will take you 5-6 seasons to pay for it. I will just take a few extra trips to dump my side dump trailer.
Thank you this was helpful. I plan on doing something like this but it will be a year or two before I can.
Great info. Thanks for sharing
Hey Sean my lawn brother 👍on all the information.? With your new mower do you plan on getting the plow blades for them for winter

Oh yeah definitely better to work smarter. Yeah that is how we have it set up
Make a video for the ones asking about commercials and how/when/who to approach to find the RFPs
Yeah that trailer sick man, awesome breakdown thank you

Where do I get those hoops for the top made? Please respond. Thank you.
