IMO this is so inefficient. The mowers pushing the same pile of leaves is actually funny. Blowing the leaves 50' /100' with a small army of men is silly, pick them up and remove them It's not like plowing snow, as you plow the pushed snow gets larger and larger, leaves need to be removed, pick them up where they are and mulch them into the truck. The tarps are the way to go, cheap and they actually remove the leaves rather than trying to blow them all the way across a huge lot.

Our property has 92 oak trees all over 80 feet tall and 40 years old. Some years the leaves fall from October to January . If we are lucky we get 1 or 2 freezes and then a wind storm and all the leaves will be down at one time. We get 3 crews and a giant motorized blower with about a 30 inch jet engine blowing air. Fun to watch for sure.

I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

Absolutely believe that same feeling about taking care of your employees and they will do the same in return! Less of messing around with actual work done versus hour paid and minimal tool or equipment damage or maintenance costs which reduces costs! My biggest thing for me is they are a human just like I am and should be treated with respect and they will do the same! They also typically become loyal and work hard if good paid hourly with good benefit, sometimes both if possible and absolutely don't go back on your word! If business earnings nose dive out of nowhere unexpected, tell them ASAP even if you know may loose them right away! If not then, it will turn into Good in the future! Word of mouth is king! A great company reputation is very difficult to achieve 100%, but so necessary! Getting a bad reputation is very easy to get and will always follow you around and may take decades if possible to turn into a good reputation! A new management sign doesn't mean much! Always speak to them with the same amount of respect as you would want to receive! Alow the work performed move people up or forward, instead of knowing how to abuse the system! I started from the start/bottom of the food chain in rank/title to becoming a CEO and as a Fire Chief overseeing 65 staff members!

How much would you bid this job for?

    • @bobbybobman3073
      @bobbybobman3073 ปีที่แล้ว

As someone who's had to take care of a big yard myself, it depends on lots of factors, like how wet the leaves are, frankly if it's dry it's like half the time of wet and wet vs soaked is another 2x in time. But I wouldn't be shocked at all if we saw $50,000 in equipment, plus the leaf truck, and the truck and trailer for the tarp leaves. I mean as someone who has never been in the business. I would guess the bid would be about $1800-2400 but it also depends on labor costs, local markets, if this is a repeat customer, and some other stuff.
But again I have no idea what the running cost of the equipment used here is. All I know is, if I owned that house, I'd be looking into some commercial scale leaf blowers and the best way to get rid of that many leaves. I have no idea if that's a whole season of accumulation, but if that's a weekly accumulation, I'd be buying lot of commercial equipment to deal with it myself, cause frankly. There is special gear for this level of accumulation also mowing up the leaves is an option, if your grass is still growing.
Having a way to get rid of that amount of leaves weekly would be the hardest part. You'd likely pretty much need a leaf truck like they had.
But if that's a full season of accumulation then honestly just taking care of it weekly over a few months (the whole season) with a trash service is manageable.

Wow, you guys really earned your salary this day. I couldn't help imagining how a family with kids would have EVER been able to rake and bag all these leaves. We got roped into helping rake leaves in autumn when I was a kid in Pennsylvania. In those days we'd rake the maple leaves into the street and Grandma would burn them. That smoke was a genuine autumn aroma. Now no more burning like that. In upstate New York we'd rake our sugar maple leaves into the street along the curb and front end loaders would come and load them into trucks and cart them away; they always tried to do that before the first snow or those leaves would be buried there all winter til spring when they'd sweep the streets and clean up all the winter cinders and sand put on the roads to keep cars from skidding. You guys did a brilliant job and looks like there were still more leaves yet to fall. I loved the vacuum truck. That was awesome.

The issue is if this was only 1 week of accumulation, then they would basically need a leaf truck of their own to keep up with it, but if this was a whole season of accumulation say 6-10 weeks, there are some more reasonable disposal options.

    Nice job guys!
    So satisfying.
If I had that big of a yard with that many trees, I’d want help too 😆
Our small yard used to have so many trees, only the two pine trees were actually planted. My neighbor helped me cut all of them but the pines and the two closest to the house, we probably cut down 6 or 7 trees! All of them growing against our fence, already mature when we moved in. Last year we finally saved up enough to hire someone to come take the two closest to the house down, then again this year we took the two pine trees down, I was a bit sad to lose them, they were great winter interest and I remember how beautiful they were when we moved in, but they were dying, and looking worse every year, so, they had to go. Now we only have one massive cottonwood in our backyard, also a tree that sprouted and was just allowed to grow, in a really bad spot but it would take years to save up to get it taken down, and as terrifying as the tree is during storms, it is now our only shade in our west facing backyard. It’s so big it shades half the yard when the sun comes around. I’m loving all the sun for gardening (I’m huge into gardening!) but goodness it’s hot in summer! I’m going to save up over the winter to get a crabapple tree next spring, and plant it in a spot where it will bring shade to the area I like to sit and watch my chickens and duck and read, always wanted a flowering tree in the backyard, I’m super excited to get it.

      A bit far LOL
I'm saving for the Royal Raindrops Crabapple, I know of at least one garden center that has them, but I would like to find other garden centers that have them near me, I want to find the perfect shape, if I can get a triple trunk I'd be super happy, but will be fine with a regular trunk.

The contributors to success I saw in this video: teamwork, knowledgeable workers, good equipment, and gas power. Always amazed me when people run around screaming "gas is dead" and petition to ban two stroke power equipment, or worse, suggest we use battery tools and hand rakes for big jobs. Batteries don't charge themselves from nothing and I like my jobs to be done quick. Great video, keep it up.

This it incredible! What a great team you have! Great leadership to have everyone knowing what to do in such an efficient way! Just a suggestion, you should try using pitch forks to move large piles of leaves closer to vac and onto tarps...works pretty good for us, makes it easier than rakes
