Its always fascinating to learn how much time these guys have dedicated to master the art of clickbate headlines, fast paced editing and visual effects to capture peoples attention span and exploit our hardwired vulnerabilities. It would be interesting to know do they ever feel guilt or deep concern about addicting so many people into watching literally billions of hours of mindless entertainment just for the small spike of dopamine, instead any true fulfillment or real lasting satisfaction.🤔
Seems like a taboo subject in these interviews - while being the most obvious one. Jimmy clearly seems to be bothered that people only order fast food from his restaurants that will give them brain cancer, heart disease and diabetes on a global scale, instead buying the healthy options that they have. Seems a bit weird thing to celebrate, get excited about and to be proud of in our culture. Being the predator who hooks school children into gambling, mobile games or sugar just for the better ROI.💸
As entertaining and captivating as the videos may be, nowadays internet addiction is a very real problem affecting millions/billions of people everyday. These digital replacement therapies on a screen rob millions people of their real life achievements, good health, meaningful connection, true love and other priceless things in life. Is it wise to exploit kids and teenagers by making this content as addictive as possible, and turn our vulnerable youth into braindead consumers with 4 second attention span, with no social skills, poor sleep, bad health and unable to focus on their school, career and life full of laughter, love and real adventures?🏝

At 1:18:15 Jimmy questions how many of Lex's viewers are interested in this much talk about TH-cam analytics, and I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed watching even though I don't care about TH-cam analytics. I just enjoy watching passionate people talking about the things they're passionate about. There is a lot to learn by watching others who have dedicated their life to something specific, and just the general way they perceive the world and treat their experiences. You share a lot of insight that applies far outside of TH-cam, so even though that is the specific topic of this conversation, everyone can take away something that will benefit them in their own unique situations.

my favorite part of these podcasts is that they're so interesting once you zoom in on them and really listen to what lex and mr beast are saying, but there are points in the convo where its like "alright, ima just head out, we're about to move to another point now" where you don't feel like you're really missing anything if you were to stop watching right there and then

Same here. I also am fascinated with the average mind. (I am on the spectrum) so I watched this video hoping to better understand what "normal" people like to watch, and maybe gain insight into the why they like it.
I have never watched Mr Beast before although I had heard the name. Now of course, I am going to have to watch a few to see what the fuss is about. Just on the surface, his thumbnails would not entice me in. His subjects do not grab me, but, that isn't a surprise given that I am not his target audience.
Lex does know his audience well. Many of us are just curious people interested in............anything interesting.
Right, I don't plan on doing a channel but wanted to hear every detail on youtube analytics.
Analytics are a window into how people behave, I don't care about analytics but human behaviour is the most fascinating thing.
Almost every mr beast interviews were the same because every question was about money, but this was interesting topics.

Lex does know his audience. He knows we just want to learn. We are interested in anything and everything. Including 2 hours of youtube analytics.
I find the youtube analytic talk very interesting and can't get enough of it, it's useful knowledge for a lot of people, to understand themselves better too and why they watch what kind of content and maybe even ask themselves what entertainment even means to them
I loved all the geeking out topics on analytics, never boring topics watching these two masterminds interacting.

So this interviewer Lex is the literal GOAT. Bro gets 1 hour of sleep, tags along with the top TH-cam creator of all time for an entire day after screwing up his flights. Puts in 2:12:29 of time with Mr. Beast and asks the most epic question I've heard on a podcast: "What role, Jimmy does love play in the human condition?" which caused Jimmy to smile and take a minute to answer. Love this in-depth podcast and will be watching all 350 others next.

I’m glad that Jimmy is the epitome of TH-cam success.
He’s the type you want at the head of content creators because he just wants the best end product.
He’s not a money grubbing studio exec making business decisions over artistic ones.
Not to say the man doesn’t have business savvy, but just that he’s a real human just trying to make the best video content while also being hugely philanthropic along the way.
Makes it easy to root for the guy even though I’ve seen like two of his videos.

this often goes for pioneers.... one a "formula" is there, these moneygrabbers come... though YT/content space is pretty cutthroat anyway with all skills given, trained, like high level athlete, so not many can survive long without truly loving it
I think they could've gone more in-depth on the analytics stuff. It might have caused some people to lose interest, but the point of this channel for me has always been to explore the depths of a particular person's expertise, because that's what makes the person special.
A huge chunk of the in-depth analytics stuff were already discussed by Mr Beast outside of this channel.

As well, many people here don't watch Mr. Beast (or want to, no offense - I think he's quite obviously great at what he does, just not my cup of tea) and so this is the first we are hearing it.

I've watched a handful of his videos as he's hard to avoid online and things like the Squid Game video get so much attention - but I would consider myself a fan of his philanthropy and unique intelligence before a fan of his content.

I thought I am more of a typical viewer in my mid-thirties. I watch this channel because as the saying goes, "About the ocean, you ask the fisher". And Lex does that perfectly- he invites guests who are experts in a field, and then goes in without prejudice or agenda and genuinely tries to understand whatever matter the guest is knowledgeable about. It's great with guests that share my interests, for the other guests, Lex' calm and relaxed voice and atmosphere makes the videos great to "just have on" in the background regardless.

I think it’s an artistic way for Beast and Lex to create shorts and clips for Tok and Stories.

I like Lex. Except if I watch ten videos in a row, it’s gets formulaic and annoying. Everyone though. I just don’t know if watching a guy making tons of money and saying things, actually makes them as authentic as you think. Maybe Not. I’m over 70, love the history, science and AI videos. When things get too technical I’m lost so I appreciate the time stamps. I’ve watched topics that I never thought I would be interested in. About the only videos I probably won’t watch are the martial arts and wrestling. Unless I get really desperate. Thats how I clicked on Mr Beast. I had never heard of him. Amazing that he’s only 24.
I'm a college freshman who's into Lex's podcasts, programming and AI but also love watching Mr Beast videos. I think many of the younger Lex viewers are extremely excited for this collaboration.

Nailed it. The only reason I'm here is out of curiosity and to explore interesting ideas. Whether it's game theory, complexity, quantum physics, psychology, or TH-cam analytics... I find it all fascinating and am thoroughly enjoying deep diving into topics/conversations that I would otherwise be unable to have myself. Meaningful conversation seems all but extinct where I am, so the vicarious mental stimulation is very much appreciated. Keep up the good work Lex.

To be honest, at the beginning of the video, I was wondering what the Mr. Beast Happy Meal guy I found out about from my then six-year-old son (before I removed TH-cam Kids from his iPad) was doing on this podcast, but then later on, I realized it is to share his marketing and content creation capabilities, built upon his own self-criticism and drive for continuous learning. It was a good video.

Mom demographic here…. representing a demographic who watches you both regularly. A mom making dinner, trying to raise two smart and imaginative boys, encompassed by a cool husband.. all these boys have a TH-cam obsession. I've never watched Beast, but Lex is very similar to him actually. Both fundamentally care more about their content than, AFAI can tell, anything else in their lives.
I listen carefully to every advice that mrbeast gives about the world of content creation and I try to apply it to the world of music, especially his work ethic something that I've been trying to improve for years. Taking the time to give us all this information says a lot about what a great person he is. Thank you.

I'm up to 1:18:30 and just had to say, even though my interest doesn't lie in analytics, I find the process of people seeking mastery in a way that aligns to their passions and values fascinating. So Lex's fascination and curiosity around analytics is still valuable to me and retains my engagement. Hope this can be a nice datapoint for you Lex :D

@@Lauros_World I think that's because he doesn't realize how much analytics has become part of every profession. It's not a knock on him or anything - why would he know since this has been his passion/career since he was young. I just don't think he realizes that almost every field has data analytics now, so the TH-cam analytics discussion is interesting, even if we never plan to become content creators.

Mr Beast is a master at his craft. I’ve never been a regular viewer of his (mainly bc I’m never recommended that type of content). But the weird thing is every single time I’ve clicked on one of his videos, I’ve literally watched every single second of it even though its not really the kind of videos I like to watch. He’s an absolute genius when it comes to viewer retention
