- In today's video we are taking a look at the brand new Organ Sample Set of the Hinsz Organ in the Bovenkerk Kampen (NL) for the Sweelinq software! This organ was finished in 1743 and is one of the most famous Dutch instrument with wonderful flutes, principals and the obligatory tremulant on each division. The tremulant sounds are INCREDIBLE! @10:38

@@PaulFey And of course the organ (improvisations too!) sounds amazing. The Sweelinq staff seems to like wiggly wind pressure, but that really compliments the mixtures here. the full dutch plenum hits straight to the soul !
Sweelinq might have a chance at dethroning the king of virtual instruments...

That 16’ Fagot on the Rugwerk played at 8’ pitch is absolutely lovely! I would love to hear more of this stop as a solo voice.
It is a very nice organ, I agree. The organ in the st Walburgiskerk in Zutphen is less familiar, but oh so gorgeous.

Nice demo Paul. The Bovenwerk 2 is an extra division above the Hoofdwerk and underneath the Bovenwerk 1. There was a lot of space in the organ case. On this new windchest of the second the Bovenwerk they put during the last restauration 1960-1975 all the later added stops of the entire organ (1850 and later). For example; in the 19th century organbuilders removed original stops from 1743 for new modern stops like Viola's, Principal 4' Flageolet 1 and the Carillon. At the great restauration they decided to bring back te original Hinsz-disposition, but also not to throw the later added pipes away, but to preserve them on a 2nd windchest. In fact the organ has 5 works on 4 manuals.

Sehr schöne Vorstellung einer bekannten und höhrenswerten Orgel.
An der Bovenkerk in Kampen war Jahre lang Willem Hendrik Zwart der organist, der in den Orgelwelt der Niederlanden (und auch darüber hinaus) sehr bekannt ist.
Das Bovenwerk 2 besitzt die mehr romantischen Stimmen des 19th Jahrhunderts. Es handelt sich dabei um ein eingenständige Windlade die über die dafür bereitgestellte Koppel an das 3. Manual angekoppelt werden kann.
Bei der grossen Restaurierung der 1970er Jahre wollte man, trotzt des Konzepts die Orgel auf den Zustand des 18. Jahrhunderts zurück zu führen, diese romantischen Stimmen nicht entfernen oder umbauen und entschloss sich, diese eben über die Funktion einer zweiten und unabhängigen Windlade mit Manualkoppel in der Orgel zu erhalten.
Wer gezielt diese Stimmen zum Registrieren nutzen möchte, muss eben nur die Bovenwerk 2 Windlade ankoppeln.
Ich höre Ihnen sehr gern zu. !!!!!

It is a unbelievable good deal from Sweelinq! This is really good compared to Hauptwerk etc. Who needs loads and loads of adjustments ? Keep it simple and let's play ! All included in your yearly subscription ! Can't wait until more organs are going to be sampled ! Thank you for this very good demonstration !!! Of course : The " Organist" is also very - very good . Which is a big asset in promoting this sample set !

Hallo Paul, lieben Dank für deine enorm guten Demos der sich am Markt befindlichen Software Orgeln.
Du bist eine unersetzliche Bereicherung für die "Home" Organisten Szene. Deine T.o.S. sind State off the Art, da alle mit sehr ähnlichen Themen bespielt sehr gut vergleichbar wurden.
Durch dich bin ich an die Molzer Orgel VSL gekommen, die unfassbar gut klingt. Leider fehlt dann doch die Abteilung "Attacke" sprich die Reeds zum smaschen 🙂 Seit langem suche ich eine Alternative zu Hauptwerk und der Organ-Player VSL kann eigentlich alles...d.h. fast: ein simples Tremulant Button auf der Main Bedienfläche würde das Ding abrunden. Deswegen die Entscheidung zwischen Great Rieger und Sweelinq. Seit der "singing organ" kampen noch schwerer 😞...
Erlaube mir bitte eine Frage: ich habe bereits mehrfach die Test und danach die Kauf-Variante von Sweelinq installiert und musste jedes Mal beim Start der Orgel erneut die Anmelde-Prozedur durchlaufen (Rechner war verifiziert) und zu allem Leid dann noch die Midi-Einstellungen vornehmen..jedes Mal. Deswegen habe ich nach 14 Tagen das Test-Abo auslaufen lassen. Noorländer antwortet leider nicht bis jetzt.. Wenn das bei dir nicht so ist, kann ich wenigstens einen Software-Fehler ausschließen .. dann sitzt der Fehler wie so oft vorm Rechner und das kann man beheben. Seit Kampen haben die Noorländer mich entgültig abgeholt.. bis auf die Start-Routine. Würde mich sehr freuen wenn du kurz antwortest.
Übrigens: da ich direkt an der NL Grenze wohne, würde ich gerne zu deinem Live-Meeting mit der Hinsz nach Kampen kommen..wenn sich das einrichten lässt, das Konzert von Gert van Hoef diesen Freitag kann ich leider nicht wahrnehmen. Gerne auch als Registrierer (denk an die Trumpets🙂) Liebe Grüße Rudi

Jan Slegel baute zwischen 1671 und 1676 eine neue große Orgel im Bovenkerk. Er benutzte einige Rohrleitungen aus der alten Orgel von Jan van Covelen (1524). Eine große Renovierung, sowohl in Charakter als auch in Größe, wurde 1742/1743 von Hinsz durchgeführt. Das Instrument hatte drei Handbücher und ein angebrachtes Pedal mit 34 Stimmen. Tatsächlich machte Hinsz ein neues Organ mit alten Teilen und Rohrleitungen. Die Gewächshäuser wurden ebenfalls komplett erneuert und erweitert. Am 10. Oktober 1743 wurde das Werk von Henricus Radeker aus Haarlem und Willem Bruijnier, Organist in Kampen, inspiziert.
Frans Caspar Schnitger und Heinrich Hermann Freytag erweiterten das Instrument 1788-1790 mit einem unabhängigen Pedal und einigen Zungenarbeiten. Sie machten auch eine Brust, aber ohne ihr eigenes (viertes) Handbuch. 1818 führte Albertus van Gruisen Arbeiten durch. Er erweiterte auch die Anordnung der Orgel mit einem Glockenspiel und einer Trompete auf dem Bruststück. Der Organist/Amateur-Orgelbauer Zwier van Dijk legte 1866 einige romantische Stimmen auf die Orgel und stellte seine eigene Tastatur für die Brustarbeit. Schließlich wurde ein Vox Célèste 1898 von Jan Proper (seinem Cousin und Nachfolger) platziert.
1952 erneuerte Sanders die Vox Humana und stellte eine neue Pedaltastatur und eine Orgelbank zusammen. Während der großen Restaurierung der Kirche ab 1955 wurde die Orgel 1957 abgerissen und gelagert. Die Rohrleitungen wurden auf dem Dachboden des Broederkerk aufbewahrt. Dort wurde ein Teil noch durch Feuer beschädigt.
1965 wurde die Orgel von der Firma J. de Koff teilweise umgebaut. Die Arbeit wurde verlagert. Hauptarbeit und Pedal wurden 1968 installiert. Nach dem Konkurs von De Koff im Jahr 1971 wurde die Restaurierung der Orgel in den Jahren 1972-1975 von Bakker & Timmenga aus Leeuwarden abgeschlossen. Eine neue Tastatur wurde im Stil von Hinsz geschaffen, mit den Tastaturen der Martinikerk in Groningen als Beispiel. Die Restaurierung wurde auf Anraten von Feike Asma, Willem Hendrik Zwart und Dr. M.A. Vente Die Situation von 1790 wurde als Ausgangspunkt genommen, aber unter Beibehaltung der vierten Tastatur und einiger Stimmen aus dem neunzehnten Jahrhundert. Zu diesem Zweck wurde ein zweites Oberteil eingerichtet, das aus dem gleichen Handbuch wie das erste Oberteil spielbar gemacht wurde. Das Instrument wurde am 13. Dezember 1975 mit einer offiziellen Übertragung von Maarten Vente und einem Konzert von Willem Hendrik Zwart wieder in Gebrauch gebracht. Die Orgel wurde im Frühjahr 2000 von der Firma Gebr gegründet. Eule komplett gereinigt. Die Windversorgung wurde ebenfalls wiederhergestellt und die Tremulanten wurden verbessert.
2016 wurde eine neue Pedaltastatur installiert, die vier Zentimeter niedriger platziert wurde. Diese Arbeit wurde von der Firma Reil durchgeführt. Anfang 2023 wurde die Orgel eingewickelt und die Statuen aus dem Gewächshaus entfernt, weil sich in den Gewölben der Kirche Risse gebildet haben. Diese müssen zuerst wiederhergestellt werden, bevor die Orgel wieder verwendet werden kann.

Thank you for watching, Mark!! Thats true - I‘m not quite sure whats the problem with the sound, but as far as I know everything was recorded on the highest settings on PC. Maybe thats due to the software 😀
