The genesis cars are very nice cars and very detailed. Nice review ! I like the new packaging too.

Thanks! They are really nice cars. I've been pleased with the Genesis models I've gotten recently. I appreciate you watching!

I noticed that you are on a shopping spree lately. lol
Very Nice models. Those detail parts look very nerve racking to install with my fat fingers.

I'm an older guy, I live alone. I've been retired for almost 7 years. My kids are out living their lives, I have 5 grandkids. I have no debt, my house and everything I have is paid for. We only get so many days and I've used up most of mine. So, I need to enjoy what time I have left.

@@SPSteveI hope that I didn’t offend you with my comment. I was just joking around. I really like your channel with me being an auto mechanic for 30+ years and a fellow model railroader. I also have been on several shopping sprees myself hence the comment. Waiting for your next video.

      @@dkservice424 No problem. I'm following the YOLO principle. I can't buy a concours 69 Hurst/Olds, but I can afford a few models. That'll have to do ;)

@@SPSteve I'm probably not much different. I too am an older guy but still working and probably will until I am 70. Might even work part time after that since I don't have a ton of money for retirement. But for now I too have been on a shopping spree past decade. If anything, now that I have a layout up and running, but still working on scenery and buildings, I've got quite a collection and am working on selling off what I probably won't use - the proceeds are being spent on some newer DCC locos but I have no shortage of rolling stock. I also have been collecting some N scale since I will surely be downsizing when I stop working full time.

those parts are the break pads, they clip into the trucks. Nice cars, I have a couple of the DRGW ones :)

Thanks for the info, Robyn! After I get my layout further along, I'll spend some time getting the rolling stock tuned up and adding those supplied details.

And yes, they are very nice cars! I've been very happy with my recent Genesis purchases.

The build date is usually printed on the side of the model, assuming it is correct. I bought two of the SP cars - but paid about $8 more each. I believe they were produced a couple years ago. Someone commented on your backdrops. I am modeling the looks of the deserts for the Rio Grande west of Grand Junction Colorado into Utah and your backdrop source has lots of desert backdrops to choose from. Most other backdrop sources have fewer appropriate backdrops.

Yes, this run of 2600 air slide hoppers is a couple years old. The cars came in the older packaging without the lift-up flap. I think there is a new run of these cars out now in new road names. They're nice cars, some of my current favorites. I have them out on the layout a lot right now.

The 2 backdrops I have are from LARC Products. I have videos showing how I installed them in my Model Railroading playlist.
