I actually just upgraded the headers to these: www.ebay.com/itm/334377905216 and yes I still have the EGR which is why I just got those new headers. I will be doing a video on it soon here :-)
Hi, getting ready to install Black Bear ECM into my '97 2Dr Tahoe. Anything to do other than plug it in? They sent no instructions. I read something about having to do a crank relearn. Thanks.
The best way to open these trucks up is to do the 411 PCM swap. Wide open programming for timing, spark, etc. Black is good, but you guys want open dyno tuning options, a 411 PCM swap is the way to go!
No idea what 0-60 is(haven’t tested) just told them to keep the shifting light (not hard) and I get consistent 12mpg (with 35’s) with 31’s I was getting 14-15
Oh oh well. I really love what you've done with that tahoe though, I'm working on a 99 crew cab short box at the moment looking for some small engine upgrades that don't involve LS swap lol. Keep those videos coming I like it!
time for an update.
Keep up the videos great job
Thank you! Got some more coming!
Great video. What headers do you have, also do you still have your EGR? I'm doing the 0411 PCM swap (Corvette/Astro Van) on my 99 Denali.

I just unhooked the battery, plugged it in, then hooked the battery back up. Nothing else 🙂
@@MCMROSE Thanks. Mine came with no paperwork, instructions or anything. They finally got back to me and said '96-'97 don't need the relearn done.
@@christophersawtelle2558 Ya they just come back packed in a box, just plug and play, but it probably would be a good idea to add instructions :-)

@@MCMROSE thankyou you are my hero
Where did you get your cold air intake system at . What brand is it ?
It is a Volant and I got it off of Amazon :-) the link to it is in one of my other videos I think.
I know the 5 .7 is not gonna be a fuel sipper , but did the ECU mod help of hinder mpg's ?
I have yet to drive through a couple of tanks to find out. When I do, I’ll comment here again 😁
Don’t be shy do a 0-60. What’s your WOT shift points? Did u got with regular fuel tune or premium fuel tune? Any MPG change?

Hey where did you get those headers? Do they have the egr still?
They were on eBay, but I can’t find them anymore 🙁

Did you install the pcm yourself?
Yes It's very easy to unplug the old pcm and plug the new one in.
Great video but 0411 is the best way to go.
Are you going to regear
No, it drives great as is :-)
Awesome im going to order one
