    I just Happened to stumble across you tube and found your channel. Your content is just what I have been looking for. "Thanks for that.!" I'm 59 and my style of is like Yours and Karl's. I used to own a 96' Dr white and purple. Unfortunately had to sell it. I'm currently riding a KLR 650. I injured my right arm and currently in physical therapy. Not motorcycle related. Looking forward to riding soon... Anyway I just wanted to stop in and say hi and how much I enjoy Dino's Tinker Shed!

    Love your videos. Just picked up a '97 Bush Pig completely modded out. Had to downsize from my well loved DL1000 due to a common medical condition called being older than dirt.
    Your Mt. Washington ride reminded me of riding up on my '96 Magna back around the turn of the century. The ranger asked if I was afraid of narrow mountain roads. I replied that I LOVE narrow mountain roads and headed up. The ranger forgot to tell me one little detail. IT WAS ALL DIRT. Or rather mostly hard pan covered in loose pebbles. With Caddys and Deuce-and-a Quarters piloted by terrified old folks with bulging eyes and sweaty upper lips who comforted themselves by claiming the absolute middle of the road.
    Made it to the summit. Called the wife with the street address of the weather station. She asked why. Told her this was my new home since I was NEVER GOING TO SKI DOWN that 9 degree dirt Slip-N-Slide just to get off the mountain.
    I eventually relented after a short conversation involving the terms "chicken livered" and "abject coward".
    Trip down was anticlimactic.
    Close your eyes and relive that ride on dirt.

    Beautifully narrated Dino. I spent 2 weeks riding a royal.enfield around the Himalayas a few years ago. . I know exactly how scary some of the drop-offs can be. As much as you want to enjoy the scenery you don't dare until you stop.

    Just wanted to say Hi from Ballarat Victoria Australia. I have become a bit of a fan of your channel. I've owned my DR650 for about 4 years and have begun to dig a little deeper into maintenance and adding to the whole adventure experience over the last couple of years. Found your videos really helpful and generally confidence building for me to turn the tools myself. This ride up Mount Washington was great viewing. Keep up the great job.

    What a great ride report, thanks for sharing! Loved the ride up the mountain, I live in southern Arizona, with a 9100 ft. Mountain less than an hour from my door, so I can relate to the cliffs! Looks like you had the perfect bikes for the job. If you get a chance, I recommend Down East Maine, especially Acadia National Park, it’s worth the ride. I’d love to do some riding in your country; I’ve been several times, but never on a bike.

    What a trip! The video and voice over I really enjoyed - thankyou. Spectacular scenery. The video vision is interesting as you are able to show different views. (Did your GPS have a bit of shake? - on one of your videos you had put "anti shake" stays on it).

    You boys will have to come out to BC and do another Mt. Washington on Vancouver Island just to say you did it. We certainly have some spectacular scenery here as well. Much less "pucker factor" going up it too 🤣.
    I actually wanted to ask you your long term thoughts on the HWK gear. I haven't ridden in over 20 years but just got myself a little dual sport and have been considering the same jacket and pants that you have. I saw your initial reviews on them but wonder if you feel the same after putting on a lot of miles with them. Thanks.

    Great video! Can you tell us what the temperature range was, top vs bottom? Also what sprocket gearing combination you are utilizing? Lastly, you might want to look at Seat Concept's Touring/Commuter seat. I've had mine 3+ years and has been a great addition to the DR. Can't wait for part II.

    • @DinosTinkerShed
      @DinosTinkerShed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the questions, I think the temperature dropped about 12 degrees Fahrenheit over the climb but I can not remember the exact temp. I have a 14/46 combo on the bike right now, I've looked at the SC seats and they seem to get great reviews, it is the seat I would buy if I decide to buy one. I want to explore some other alternatives as well to share on the channel (for better or worse LOL)
      Thanks again

    In California we normally cruise the DR on the slow lane at 105 kph like 60-65mph which I thought was normal and snail slow for the other maniacs on sport bikes lol ,
    was the 80kph the speed limit on that highway? Or just for cruising (which I love)

    • @DinosTinkerShed
      @DinosTinkerShed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The back roads were 55mph in NY and 50 in Vermont. We like to take our time and cruise, so we just poked along and enjoyed the ride.
