My favorite showdown to date! Big Brett fan and loved seeing your runs. My favorite pick-up at this years National was a Brett RC Mini in an 8.5 This little gem will never leave my collection and be my lasting memory from the show. Thank you for another fun episode!
I still remember going to kids picture day at Kauffman Stadium when I was a 9 years old in 1989. Brett and Bo Jackson were such huge stars they were the only 2 players you couldn't get your picture taken with. Brett sat in the dugout, roped off from the fans, and we could only take pictures of him from afar. I didn't understand it at the time but I'm sure he would have been absolutely mobbed on the field by everyone wanting a picture with him.
Great one! Despite being a lifelong Yankees fan, I was a huge George Brett fan. He was the AL version of Charlie Hustle and one of the best all-time hitters ever. As far as Schmidt being better, I'd take Brett any day. ⚾ 🇺🇲
These episodes are like watching Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. 😂 So many cool cards. I know you guys have collected over many years and your collections show it. Thx for sharing.
My favorite player ever. Met him in 92 in spring training while he was signing. When i got to him ask if after signing i could just talk with him for a few minutes. Been royals n chiefs fan since 1st grade now im 50. Got a George Brett RC for 16th birthday wish mom had sprung fir the mini that was in pack at the shop but its was $375 in 1990.
For season 3 if you win by 25 or more you should be able to replace any remaining player on the wheel with a player of your choice that has not been previously done. Food for thought
Congrats on the win Chris. I was a big fan of Brett growing up. My goal was to pick every Brett card that I could find. I still have them but I only have the rookie graded.
Nice showdown. As a George Brett super collector, I kicked your butt but Chris did beat me. George Brett is my guy but I do have to give the nod to Schmidt as the best third baseman. Brett is #2. You said Boggs #2? He’s a joke. As a Red Sox fan that watched many games on TV during those years, if there was 2 out and nobody on base, Boggs would get a hit. But if there were 2 outs with runner in scoring position, he would make an out. I’d say Eddie Matthews #3 with Boggs #4.
Yeah, but Brett does do private signings every so often and his price increases every time out and I need him and just can't pay $225 ($600 for rookies) for them to get penned by one of my favorite players of all-time.
George Brett ruled the 80s as did Donruss and Fleer. This video loses so much credibility because it only looks at Topps. No 81 Donruss #537 Brett/Carew? No 84 Fleer #638 Pine Tar Incident (Brett/Perry)? Those cards are some of the most iconic of the 80's. But not even a mention. And you guys are arguing about 1988 Topps All Star. What a joke. No Hostess or Kelloggs either. At least Mike shows off the 84 Donruss (and 89 Upper Deck). But the non-stop Topps worship just makes the whole thing unbelievably boring.
You could do your own video with your own rules, no one is stopping you. They always just do the Topps run because most of the players have cards just from the Topps monopoly era.
Always enjoyed watching Brett, wasn't a KC fan, but in 75 I was 13 & Brett was obviously a huge part of baseball from 75 - 95

Chris got the better of me this week, but I will exact my revenge!! LOL
Awesome episode, fellas! Chris is bringing the heat tonight! Gary Carter is another one of those dudes with a LOT of cards!
My 1975 OPC George Brett in an SGC 3 is my favorite card in my collection. I got it in the mid 80's and just got it graded last year.
That's awesome. Great card.
Fun stuff as always. Thanks for the series

I heard about your showcase showdown from MidLife and glad I tuned in. Great idea and fun episode.
Thanks. There are tons of great episodes in the books already if you want to check those out.

He pulls out the Mangini technique!
Excellent showcase fellas - I didn’t realize Brett had that many hatless cards! On to “The Kid!”
Chris got the better of me this week, but I will exact my revenge!! LOL
Nice episode. Congratulations Chris
Chris got the better of me this week, but I will exact my revenge!! LOL
Congratulations Chris ,, another great showcase
Was that "Duk" Snider on the wheel? Not THAT would have been a showdown! ;-)
Congrats Chris!!
Always great seeing you win!!
If it wasn’t for a few close losses you would be winning season 2! Go Chris!

Great Showcase as always fellas . Grats Chris . Like seeing the Brett rc rainbow 🌈
Thanks 👍

This was a no doubter, I guess.😁 I played along and, Chris beat me too Mike! But you didn’t!😂 Fun as always guys!
Congrats on beating me Shannon. That's awesome/Chris got the better of me this week, but I will exact my revenge!! LOL
Congrats Chris. Overall showcase showdown is always interesting
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey guys, this was a fun video and congrats to Chris on the win. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Jim. Chris got the better of me this week, but I will exact my revenge!! LOL
Congrats Chris on the trouncing. I didn't play this week as all my Bretts after '77 are raw.
Chris did well this week for sure.
Awesome Brett showcase guys! Mangini didn't mention Pie Traynor. Before Brooks Robinson came along, Traynor was on most all-time teams.
Traynor is definitely up there in terms of greatest third basemen of all time.
George Brett, the cheater(Pine tar)
great cards,great show guys
Congrats Chris on a nice win on the 2nd greatest 3b of all time

Awesome cards guys, and Chris is closing the gap 5-3 now! Mike is starting to sweat 🤣🤣
Not really sweating yet. Chris got the better of me this week, but I will exact my revenge!! LOL
@@BaseballCollectorand revenge is a dish best served cold 🤣🤣
Mike you’re a great guy but you play the villain well. Your like those damn Yankees what a great collection. I was happy for Chris great show
Chris got the better of me this week, but I will exact my revenge!! LOL
You put up a decent fight Mike, but Chris got you big time with Brett. The battle of the Gary Carters should be good.
Thanks John. Hard to hang with a George Brett super collector.
Ozzie Smith should be in your next season!
That is a great idea.
I thought you’d include your man Adrian in the top 5 3b Mike?
Adrian is up there. I should have brought him up to see where Chris would put him.
Yeah, but Brett does do private signings every so often and his price increases every time out and I need him and just can't pay $225 ($600 for rookies) for them to get penned by one of my favorite players of all-time.
Not cheap.
