Have you guys ever considered doing a video on inflation vs card values over time??? That would be an amazing video. Also inflation should be applied to the sports card value index to get true values on the increase in the market. Seems like a deep dive but a perfect video for this channel!
I really enjoyed the video. Please do one of these for football. BTW the competition is not even if t-pot is cherry picking the lowest priced cards and not going with the average price. Wishing I could do the same when paying real money on my cards.
Not a world I play in so I don't have any dogs in this race nor do I have any clue which of you will come out ahead. I do have 1 psa 9 rated rookie holo of luka's I bought for like 250 on this most recent dip as he's easily my favorite modern player to watch/follow. But at the insane premiums and at these print runs and with so many sets/cards for these ultra modern guys to pick from there's simply far better (IMO) cool/scarce 90s/00s stuff I can get for similar/less prices it's just not even a competition for my hobby dollar.
Love your videos! Very informative and helpful. Me and my dad just started selling cards together on eBay and I’m considering starting a TH-cam for it, I also open one piece cards on my own channel and definitely am going to check out your all one piece hobby boxes, hope to get some good pulls for the videos! Would love to make it to your store eventually but that’s definitely a future endeavor!
Please keep the hobby alive. I think with digital content growing it also helps collectors because most people want items in hand. I just wish the artificial inflation of cards, and new grading companies would chill because if the card hobby goes into the dumps like it once did, will becthe reason why.
I like this video. I do have a critique or word of advise if I may. When you were going through the players comparing them from 2019 original picks, when you talk about each player, you should blow up the card of that player/ card of that player on the screen so it’s larger for a time. I just got back into collecting baseball and basketball cards. Now, I’m not knowledgeable like you 2 of the ins and outs of everything going on in the market, but, I think that casual, and hardcore collectors/ traders of cards would like to see the cards well on the screen. This is what excites them on viewing the videos (We want to see the cards!!!) The informative style of videos is awesome, but also tie in the look and excitement for your viewers to see the beautiful cards well. They just were quite small when you were scrolling through them and explaining them. Just a tip for thought. Other than that, great. Love you guys. 😎🔥💪
I'm not a basketball person, but it feels like there's too much swinging for the fences even though it's a fun experiment. You need to be concerned with downside protection as well.
I mean apart from the Mercury box, is he more oversaturated than any other player from the last 5 years? IMO just because he's the one everyone is chasing doesn't mean he has significantly more cards than anyone else
@@kylekramer718 He is over saturated in grading, he is number 9 on total censes for graded cards. He already has nearly 1 million graded cards, so the 10s in the long run will be really easy to get which will suppress the value over time.
Geoff, you're a good man and should keep your head held high. Many of the people that criticize are doing nothing of value themselves and need to put down others to feel better about themselves. Keep doing your thing. Have a blessed week
My big question...where do u think the best place to buy and sell cards is. Ebay? Do u like whatnot? Card shows? Brick and mortar? I have a huge collection of slabs and vintage...I'd rather sell them locally but renting a spot is so expensive it isn't a good option. Card shows...damn I haveca full time job so not so available. Ebay? You know the deal. Lastly. Taxes. If I buy cards from any of the places I mentioned I pay taxes and shipping. Now, If I sell the card anywhere I have to pay taxes again...how the f do I avoid that!!!????
Market Movers, are you going to show the 1994 Upper Deck Rare Air #89 Michael Jordan that has the Menendez Brothers sitting courtside that has went from $2 to $100 plus overnight for the last week on your next show? Or are you going to buy up and then show 4 weeks from now
This was a great video to watch keep making these fun videos it’s great educational way to learn and have fun in the hobby in the sports card market!!!
I think yall looking past Evan Mobley. He’s about to show he’s almost the same player as Wemby and he might even be a better perimeter player (both defense and offense).
This is good. But these prices don’t align. Least not with eBay. Even if go back 2 weeks ago. Brandon miller optic holo 10 for 70. They are all about 115. So of course will do well
It sold for $70 on 10/12. Auction 16 bids seller zcose sports marketing title: 2023-24 Donruss Optic Holo Brandon Miller Rookie RC #219 PSA 10 GEM MINT
I feel like geoff used market movers average and teapot looked for the lowest comp possible for each card which isnt really fair for this exercise. Also not realistic that he could purchase everything at low comp. Unless i missed something.
lol at tpotts take that you might take sga over luka 😆😆 for the content!! He only had mvp votes because they were a healthy team (which i kinda love seeing them decimated by injuries in preseason). Great video though still and looking forward to seeing how things play out. Can't argue with any of the picks outside sga
Millers cards are already high, around the same price as Melo. If Melo becomes the All Star again I can see his cards taking a bigger jump. Those two will be fun to watch playing together.
Celtics are going to win it all again and start of a dynasty. I'd pick JT, JB and even multiples if some of their role players like Pritchard and Hauser who are very cheap.
Popularity is what drives prices. You guys are only talking about a players skill or talent levels which is only 1 factor in their popularity. You need to look at other factors and the biggest one s likeability. The likes of JJJ, Brunson and Tatum do not have likeability outside of their home crowds.
That’s why many of these videos are disconnects. Remember these guys make a good amt of money from shows and folks walking through those doors. They even get $ from these videos. They’re effectively spreading their risk and using the classic investing techniques. This in the video is technical investing.
@@PlantingseedsSATX of course they are. I'd like to see people use a practical relatable trade up approach for education purposes though. Like what $5-$30 cards can you buy then maybe grade and sell after that can help you raise your level. That's the kind of info that the common man needs because that's the inventory he can afford.
@MyCardInventory on Houston, he'll have a monster season. Not saying he'll win it- but he'll be in the conversation, especially with an extension coming up.
So dumb, yeah give me 1,000 copies of Fox silver prizm psa 10 at $60. That’s not how card market works. You don’t get to replicate all time low sale prices lol
I’d have more respect for SCI doing this if they didn’t delete videos when they were wrong and did a recap later of their predictions. It can be done all In good fun. But when they pretend they are always right is cringy
Far too many Wemby cards out there - and at shows in person, people seem to be Wemby'd out - I feel like these cherry picked low sales was a bit of a douche move...but whatever, not like there's money on the line...but TPOT being shady from the jump will make this competition suspect throughout

Love this kind of video! Would be cool to get a mid-season recap of the predictions.
I felt really good about Ja, B Miller and Lamelo prices but I don’t know now that Geoff picked them too.
lol he put the madden curse on them?
Ask Desmond Ridder

Love this. Now you got to do one for Baseball. This is the perfect time to do it. We need more baseball content hahah. Well done guys!

The emidid card is not a $700 to $1,000. Ebay sales show $70-80 for psa 10 silver. Unless im missing something.
Light the beam! You already know that you mentioning Fox brings a smile to my face.
Beam team all day!!
Love this video ! Awesome job like always t-pot! Nice having your boss making a special appearance.
Brandon Miller

Yes, I’ve been hoping for this for years. Even on large screen tv, it’s not big enough. I’ve asked before….
Creative content approach! Enjoyed the review of Jeff's picks from 5 years ago lol
I'm not a basketball person, but it feels like there's too much swinging for the fences even though it's a fun experiment. You need to be concerned with downside protection as well.
Levels Ball and the Hornets and Brandon Miller... Last Night into an OT win... and Donavan Mitchell is Nasty and the Cavs were 15-1 recently
Wemby is so over saturated, and he already has made the top 10 most graded cards censes list.
I mean apart from the Mercury box, is he more oversaturated than any other player from the last 5 years? IMO just because he's the one everyone is chasing doesn't mean he has significantly more cards than anyone else

Are you serious, I get a Wemby, maybe one per every other box of cards I buy.
Great idea. You guys should do this for baseball and football.
Super excited for this challenge, this makes me want to do this with one of my friends
This is a great idea yall came up with. Keep shining and being innovative 💡 😅

Nice! Want to see the baseball version!
I bought one player in 2017 … Aaron judge .. up 1000 percent …
Great video! Thank you! Thoughts on Sengun?
I love Sengun's game but worry about him being lost in the shuffle with Houston.
what’s a better buy. the silver or a numbered RPA
for investment ? Silvers. Very liquid and you know how much you're going to get when you decide to sell
Basketball has the best value in cards I believe.
The players you both picked are also on my list as well. Good luck.
Hockey is actually the best value imo.
What about Chet holmgren he’s another year removed from injury and he’s the second best player on a contender
great vid guys!
Did I miss teapots second pick?

I can’t believe you guys even mention Anthony edwards 🤦🏻♂️
They have a budget , ant prices are already high

Solid video

Jalen green spectra rookie auto cards are so cheap right now. I would bet on that
I’m going very heavy on Caitlin Clark best basketball player ever
I’ll buy x17 ($175 comp) 2022 Bowman’s University #51 base pop 106
Brandon Miller my top pick as well just a great overall player. 💪😤☝
Millers cards are already high, around the same price as Melo. If Melo becomes the All Star again I can see his cards taking a bigger jump. Those two will be fun to watch playing together.
@@beachrain8617 Agree💯
Jalen Johnson with Atlanta will have a breakout year. Invest now
Cmon T-Pot you kind of cheated. Just use 5 latest sales avg instead of picking one offs sales that are not realistic.
Celtics are going to win it all again and start of a dynasty. I'd pick JT, JB and even multiples if some of their role players like Pritchard and Hauser who are very cheap.
"10 cards in theory could probably maybe go up, who knows the card market is weird" fixed the title
Cade looked really good. Pistons can only go up. Tatum is such a strange one because he's really good and really popular but his card market is crap.
Cade has been scoring well, but 16 turnovers in 2 games combined is unacceptable. He's got to be smarter with the ball.
Donovan Mitchell is a 💯 buy right now! It’s a travesty that his values are where they are but fine by me
Lamelo is back 🎉🎉🎉
I think wembanyama is going to bomb hard, hes an injury waiting to happen. Greg oden 🤔
I’ll just take one player, Alperen Sengun and I’ll clear the profits of all of both your picks combined.
Can you list the cards in comments.?

Great vid guys. I like to see losses so i dont feel so bad lol.
cade cunningham is good
Chet Holgrem
Geoff should win fairly easily imo
I listen and like both of ya'll
Bane will creep up but ja morant will benefit most on that team
$3000 to buy cards? Average Americans dont have money like that!
Agreed they need to relate to the common collector
I agree 1000%

Its an experiment. Breathe
No Scottie Barnes ?
I can do this for half the money
scottie barnes??
How does EVERYONE feel about Wayne Gretzky inserts long term??? Some whales 🐋 they made.
that was fun
Up 50%. $3000/$2000 =1.5
T pot what r u doing bruh where’s your integrity, you’re playing arbitrage games with prices rather than picking general trends of the market lol
Agree always liked T Pott surprised he’s doing this, super cringy
Should’ve been 30 day average. Not last sale…. Just like Stockx
Just a couple of videos ago he was mentioning the overpriced PSA 10 rookie cards…. In this video all PSA 10 rookie cards
Jordans
"I am all in on the hornets" yikes Geoff. yikes
Well we all know the big guys track record. Will Grier
I'll take the cash and not buy any nba & win this challenge
I think you guys should’ve done it by % and not actual dollars
see the funny thing about that?
its the same thing when we both use a $3000 budget 😉
Jalen Green LFG!!!!!
I think Sengun will make an MVP push this season.
Jalen Green great pick.
What? 😂
@MyCardInventory on Houston, he'll have a monster season. Not saying he'll win it- but he'll be in the conversation, especially with an extension coming up.
Cam Thomas
Geoff making a special appearance!
Grizzlies gonna eat this year
Cam Whitmore will be starting 5 by January
lol what? hes 9th or 10th in the rotation now? amen and reed are both ahead

Golden state kuminga
The whole market is down 30% from back then
Not from 2019 it's not. It's up since 2019.
I hope everybody keep sleeping on Brandon Miller🙏🏾
Kings 2024-25.
Cultural relevance is huge
like if our gov. is tyrant
Sir, this is a Wendy’s
These guys miss because if you aren’t basketball players you don’t understand the game … great show though !!
Up 50%, not 33%.
No Franz Wagner or Paolo Banchero? Wow
Lamelo is to injury prone.
I think the Wemby craze is goin to keep going down because he’s an NBA big man. Not as flashy.
T- Pot!!! Is no longer T-pot!!! He is Mr T without the pot. This brother getting swo!💪🏽😮💪🏽😮😎👌
Donovan Mitchell was robbed of rookie of the year
I win
