Ts funny. I have a ton of these cards. Crazy to see cards that I didn’t think much of 30 years ago became worth some decent money.
It's so awesome seeing these lower lever star cards selling for $500+!!! You're definitely the ONLY page highlighting THOSE cards and I appreciate it!!!
yes but these are mostly psa 10 prices
I'm going to have to start watching more of these videos. Recently started going through my cards from 80s and 90s thousands of cards. And have no clue anymore what names I should be looking for. Feel like I have passed up several of these cards just thumbing through the collection.
...i have that #11 Randy johnson card in mint condition ; it's not graded but it's mint
The problem, even with mint cards is the alignment. The color all that other stuff, your mint car could easily be a seven point five
@@robertzavala3407that’s what really sucks. I used to sell and trade cards in the early 8’s. Few if any cards were graded back then. I got a couple grand selling a bunch of my cards before going into the Army. I had around 12-13,000 cards back then. I had cards from the late 50’s and 60’s that I stupidly got rid of. I wanted to have a car and some spending money for my early service in particular. I didn’t get rid of all my best cards. Then my ex’s brother I think stole a bunch. I never could prove it but was very upset up till now still. I have several thousand cards. My best are Tom Seaver 1969-79 an Orlando Cepeda from 1970, a rookie Tony Dorset, a Daryl Lamonica car, a 69 Bob Gibson and Mick😢Lolich. Some may not be too valuable to many but mean a lot to me.
It isn't mint till it's graded. Numerous factors go into grading
@@robertzavala3407agreed.
Well, if you say mint, you should be able to assume that the centering, print quality & physical condition are perfect. Or is that why we have to get them graded?
Man I have to go through my old stuff.Great vid
I have that Rickey Henderson card in an inch thick slab buried in my attic somewhere. Bought it for $50 back in the early 90s
I have a box full.of cards from the 80s & 90. I'm gonna look through it. I have some big name players, including several cards of the Ripkin brothers.
Nobody will give you money for those cards beyond a couple of bucks.
@@afridgetoofar1818 l have several cards of the Ripkin Brothers. I have Glavins Rookie card Griffins too,but it's not a Topps card. I have a number of famous players cards. Most may be worth face value. Or a few bucks, but l believe l have a few that may be worth hundreds or more.
Man I hit a huge find at a goodwill…literally about 100,000 cards and from the looks of it I have ever single one of these cards 😳…
You did get lucky... I inherited all my brothers and my mother's baseball cards from the 50,s and 60,s and so on I've got over 4000 in mint condition and I'm going to get ready to see about selling some of them
Can someone please explain to me how to tell the difference between a Topps Tiffany card and the regular Topps card? Are they marked differently? Thanks.
The back is lighter in color looks cleaner
Tiffany were made in Ireland on different cardboard
Bro, your videos are awesometastic! i have a lot of those in my possession. it would be nice to include what it cost the owners to get the cards graded. im talking about PSA of course.
I’ve seen where PSA requires a minimum of 10 cards at $20 a card to grade. That’s why all of mine from 70’s-90’s are not graded.
I have the Chipper Jones card and 2 of the Randy Johnson cards. All in mint-near mint condition
me too😮
@th-cq2wg I guess one of the Johnson's I have is a Tiffany card. Recently started looking through all my old cards. Have somehow held onto boxes and boxes of cards I collected as a kid
great list. just goes to show that the 80s are not junk at all.
Good call!
Have multiple 10 grades as well as 9.5 cards of course in🎉the protection package
Ty for the information I'm thinking of selling my entire collection
Anyone any idea about ceramics looking version of #2 bo Jackson?
There are sooooooooo many factors.
How can I know if this or that card is worth investing in?
dunno if this is commonly known .... but why does some cards are worth less with auto ?
(Mcgwire rookie 4xmple)
If you get your card autographed personally or have a player write on the card after its production, usually it only brings sentimental value for the fan that got the card signed. Basically, they consider the card damaged. A collector doesn't care about when your father brought you to the twins game and got Kirby Puckett's auto. Unless the buyer shares the same love and compassion, a collector wants their cards clean and perfect.
@@Artist-651 thanks for answering ,.... a new question comes to mind ... what about autos then ... are they of any value ? i got that mcgwire rookie card with his original rookie auto ... is it worth something just for the auto now ?? prob . in some cases adds value ? lets say the card isnt in great shape does the auto compensates ? or is it better to have the auto on a napkin :S !! thanks again .
It's the old adage " it doesn't matter what is being sold it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it!"
We need to start grading our known all stars of the decades that have gone overlooked, alot of young Hispanic rookies became all time sluggers, etc
Why does the Jeter auto sells for 2,000x less then a non auto of the same card?
Love the tradings card
Very well done video!
I am pretty sure I still have some of these cards from when I was collecting as a kid. I just recently started to get back in to it. People are selling Junk Wax Era cards today literally around a 1-2 cents each in bulk on sites like Ebay. A lot of of the sellers would still give you a deal just to get them off their hands. I still like 90s cards but I am not trying to turn a profit of them.
I like these cards.
I wish I can go back 20 years, and not sell my like 2,000 cards for $25.
They were all from the 60's to the early 2000's.
I kept about 100 cards.
The '87 Pete Rose has all his stats on it and that's his final year playing. You need a magnifying glass to see the stats. I have many of these cards in mint condition. Wouldn't know how to get them graded or into an auction. I'm sure it's pricey to do so.
How much is one worth?
Great video
great video, no bullshit, subbed. thanks
Appreciate that and welcome to the channel!
You alot of people have been throwing these cards away so I believe some will actually go up in price
I have the Randy Johnson in the thumbnail. I doubt I could get anything for it.
What's psa?
I have all of these
Good break down
Videos like this make me SICK thinking about everything I've sold over the years... and SHOULDN'T have!!!!
You will get them back bro just watch !!!!!
@karenpage8843 oh no... those weren't PC, I just wish I still had them... it was just before the boom and I wasn't as seasoned... cards like a PSA 10 1984 Pete Rose or Gary Sheffield PSA 10 GLOSSY rc are cards way too expensive for me anyway... I definitely made some mistakes!
Hold smokes got many psa 10 and 9.5topps
Y'all need to understand. Please. You have to get your cards graded. This is why and only why cards can be valuable. Yeah, they are only worth what people will pay for em however, do your research. Or don't.
I wonder how much Chris (Sports card collector, investor, dealer in that order) has affected Cal Ripken Jr.'s value since starting his channel???
Probably a lot with all his views. Honest guy.
@@LeeCopus he's definitely one of my favorite guys doing card videos!
Why not just get some Kurt's Card polish or Kurts Card Spray and do tor them up to be PSA 10s?😂 PSA recently made a statement saying any foreign substance found on cards will resukt in the card being graded ALTERED. So many people are ruining their good cards with this stuff.
I have a lot of those but there not graded
Steve-O!!!
I literally got 3 of these chipper jones rookies!!! Anyone interested???
Ted v Williams 1839
sickens me that psa 10s clemens are worth more than twice a bgs 9.5. psa is way easier to get a 10 in. regraded, less than 10% of psa 10s would get a bgs 10.
Dont believe a word! No one is paying this kind of money unless it is the highest rated . A card in your or my collection probably is in thier grade assumption would be a quarter of that price they are quoting?! I have over 100 cards from the bubble gum wra (1980's)
Yep, this guy is full of it. Only a PSA 10 card would come close to fetch these prices,
He is showing straight from auction lol and most are psa10
Yeah, everyone with more than 5 minutes in the hobby over the last 10 years understands how grading effects value. Sounds like you haven’t been paying attention since the 80s.
You have to get them graded it's around s hundred dollars a card
Any thing graded , cards , unopened packs and of course comics, you are paying"up the nose". Lower production?.. and rarer Topps Tiffany ( nonbase set cards) also here.
The longer the list, the better for ME... that's a LOT of UNPAID work though and I'd hate to see you taking time from other things, just for MY entertainment!!!!
I have a lot of the errors
I have the #1 card. I'll sell it for 200.
28
1000 dollars for an Eric Davis rookie card?! Wow
And the Dwight Gooden 2000 dollars...geesh
Did you get them graded back then. Kept them raw and in top loaders. Most of mine are probably 8's with o/c, and fisheyes here and there. Better off raw. Great cards though. Love that Era
Tiffany version not regular base card it's so much harder to come by.
@@Bulshitero I don't think I ever saw a Tiffany card for sale when I was collecting cards in 80's. I only heard about them. :)
I have ty cobbs tobacco spit in a jar..
What’s a psa
A card grading company
The first and more reliable and stricter grading company, usually ,I'd say.
The PSA gradding system of rhe 1980 Henderson is is a scam. I swear
Not worth anything unless someone buys them .. and no one buying shit anymore
Aaaa
i have 1 card of derek jeter card 276 i like to know if it is worthy any thing please let me know thank you
