  • Apple's announcement that Lossless Audio would be included in Apple Music has generated a lot of interest in USB DACs, because you'll need one to render audio to wired headphones. This video shows you how to use the HELM BOLT USB DAC/AMP with Apple Music to listen to Lossless Audio.

the adapter chain is a disgrace. But in any case, native 24bit 48kHz isnt exactly awful. However, I have read that getting the sound out to your hifi sytem is problematic with a lightning to headphone adapter, becasue the internal DAC of all lightning to headphone adapters ($5 -$25)is limited to 16bit 44kHz.. Not sure if true, were all still learning and waiting for products to put honest specs on their stuff.

@@haula251 but 256 AAC can't come close to apple's hi res lossless. So no matter how good a dac/amp is, aac being lossless won't sound good as alac.

    A positive move by Apple.
Allowing Apple Music users to listen to music as the artist intended and not just bass.
An ios users with the air pod max listened to an amazing record and his first reaction was...wheres the bass...
I was confused until i listened to his air pods max....The bass was loud, uncontrolled and overreaching.
    It was horrible.
When i asked to listen to the same track on Tidal with LDAC HiFi or MQA...his reaction was..wait there are more sounds, its richer and fuller.
But he did not like it casue it lacking in "bass".
Hopefully Spotify will join in the Lossless bandwagon.
But hey to audiophiles who sport an IOS device...Loving the dongle life?

Poor design. Just make it with the lighting cable at one end.

So 3 different and separate things plugged into the lightning port just to achieve those? LMFAO. Fail.
