Not Asking For Permission

  • For my final major project I have created a documentary tackling the representation and inclusion of disabled people within the film and TV industry. I dive head first into conversations most would never dare to have with the help of my guests Jack Hayes, a fellow media student, Phil Hawkins, a well known film, TV and advert director and Jon Furlong, an actor of both stage and screen.
The three months I had to create the documentary were an emotional rollorcoaster. I put blood, sweat and tears into this documentary, pulled countless late night editing sessions and drank copious amounts of coffee. Despite knowing what I was getting myself in for when starting this project, I had to stare my fears and insecurities surrounding my disabilities in the eye and not let them affect me. This is my most raw, emotional and confronting piece of work to date. I am proud of how far I have come since I first set foot on this creative journey.
