I guess I'll make a comment saying that my 3rd point is potentially just NULL and VOID as of this morning. The first 2 are still valid! New info suggests the ultimate is now different, working similar to a gibby dome with no top, and providing 2x healing speeds, but no info on the shockwave portion (this still seems insane btw). I think it provides the same purpose of resetting quick and effectively for your team without the potential game-breaking AoE shockwave ability I spoke about in #3. So in a way, I guess I was right about it being too broken if they changed it lol 😎
lifeline already turns simple 3v3s into a chore. Giving her an ability to halt oncoming pushes or movement directed at them only rewards the team when they make a mistake. I cannot imagine these changes bringing people back into the game.
I am scared of the lifeline rework as someone who loves playing her i don't want her ruined , she is legit one of the most balance character in the game when i think of her i think of thanos quote "perfectly balanced as all thing should be" like she doenst need a rework i find her perfect the way she is , impactful and good in what she is meant to do but not oppressive Its truly a modern video games moment of changing something that is not broken and perfectly fine the way it is for the sake of "innovation"

I agree with all 3 points. The first point is the most important one. It's actually insane that they're reworking the legend with the 2nd highest pick rate. Their priorities just seem off. Like you said, there are other weaker characters that should be prioritized over lifeline. Its actually frustrating seeing weaker legends get ignored each season while they constantly address the stronger characters. And I know this has probably been in the works for a long time and at some point lifeline did need a rework, but now she's clearly in a great space. They simply need to pivot and focus on other legends. And in regards to her "new" abilities, I'm actually most concerned about her new passive. Giving lifeline movement is just a mistake imo. I hate when ppl complain about lifeline not having any movement or escape-ability. Of course she doesn't b/c she's not supposed to, she's a support/medic. It's part of what makes her well balanced. She has strong healing/medic abilities that help the team, but she's doesn't have movement or escape-ability. She has strengths and weaknesses, as all legends should. She's well balanced. But giving her movement with her new passive makes her completely unbalanced imo. I think they should completely scrap the lifeline rework and just focus on the weaker legends imo.
I think Newcastle can definitely be more annoying in a lot of cases as well. Not being able to throw grenades tilts me personally lol. It just depends on the situation of the fight.
Diamond 2, which means I am always against full master/pred squads. I had a game just yesterday that was 5 squads left before round 1 closed (this is an outlier, but I was flabberghasted lol). Games vary wildly, but final ring closing is honestly not that common. I remember thinking this before, but I unironically think platinum lobbies were the highest quality from my memory because you aren't dealing with the major sweats and cheaters as often (all these players do is run you down, brain off). Platinum is like where GOOD players get to, but they aren't super toxic. Platinum sometimes gets the preds and stuff, but I think it's less likely.

Agreed. With all the talk of the game declining, I'm very interested to see how people react to the new season if everyone is running Lifeline o_o Maybe everyone will love it and live happily ever after idk dawg x.x
I hear a lot of people that look fondly on the Gibby meta. There has definitely been MUCH worse, and I didn't mind it personally. I think any meta will attract hate if everyone plays it and it overstays it's welcome.
@ it’s just weird them saying they want the game to last 20+ years in the future but pulling moves like bees. I just don’t know I feel like that’s one of the reasons why some people stop playing Apex as well. We used to get a character every season and then it stoppedin season 16 I think a new character brings a lot of people into Apex but since we’re barely getting them now it’s like what’s even the point.
As a lifeline I don't think shes a big problem atm obviously im gonna be biased but for the ones complaining about her rez I can honestly say it's a skill issue and as far as business goes this is honestly a better move to bring old or new into the game again just because she's more popular than the lower picked ones
Depending how big the ult will be hopefully smaller than gibby bubble otherwise they can ult and bubble anywhere on the map and you won't be able to do anything to stop the res 😂or ult and bubble final ring which is gg then😂😅
It appears they changed the ult very recently. I would be perfectly fine with her receiving these buffs if they also just buffed other characters that are bad right now.
There were even more support buffs leaked O_O I think she'll be very good in ranked since she is easier to play than Newcastle. I do agree Newcastle offers more competitively, though.

I really like your point about the strengths and weaknesses. A lot of these games tend to overtune new characters and leave older ones in the dust.
