This is my 2012 Porsche Cayman R, equipped with Race Headers (Catless) and a Protune via. The rest of the vehicle is stock with the factory PSE system. Picked up 27whp. The mic is located on the back bumper. PSE is on (valves open) at all times during this video.

Are those crackling sounds when you let off the throttle?I fell in love with the 981' crackles even with stock exhaust recently and I would love to have them on my 987. My Cayman S has a Borla XR1, Im not sure if the race headers would offer what Im looking for.

Getting rid of those restrictive factory cats and header tubes is the best thing you can do towards getting that burble. Should sound pretty badass with that Borla haha. If you'd like a set shoot me an email at [e-mail] :)

John Gaydos, I have an 06 987 CS with a 82mm throttlebody, IPD comp plenum, softronics tune, and Borla exhaust. I'm interested in adding some additional sound with catless headers. I'm curious what the additional power gain would be with my setup?

what does it take for my 987.1 2.7 liter from 2007 sound like this? please help me, i am buying a carnewal GT exhaust but does it make those crackles when you release the gas?

siebe vdc you’ll need to also change out the restrictive headers and tune the ECU to increase the crackles when you release the gas. All quite doable, where do you live? Feel free to email me at [e-mail]

Did you have to do some timing functions in the tune to get the crackle? Protune via?

This is very light burble compared to what is capable with some tweaking on the tune. Softronics has the ability to increase the pops/bangs dramatically over what is in this video.

Any idea what the dB rating is at 50' under WOT for this setup? Think it's under 100dB?

It would be close but I'd say it would be. What tracks are you running?

The local parking lot that just about every club uses for Autocross is pushing for a 100dB limit now. Usual story: neighbors moved in next door and complained.

Well, I ran this setup with Philly region SCCA at several events and never threw the DB limitation I can tell you that much and they had the guy out there with the meter. There is also a pretty easy way to put on some slick aftermarket tips that allow you to swap turn downs on and off in a few minutes

Race Headers 100% Sport Headers have cats and they are a restriction that cuts down on power and sound
