      Gavin Walker its an electronic checklist. The pilot monitoring just has to execute it, and if all checks are complete, he/she just has to announce checklist complete.

    • @SimisioLP
      @SimisioLP 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wiltzu81 i doubt they got 50% off. They bought less than 10 aircraft... look at Ryanair. When the order the go in the 100-250's per order. That makes up for some sweet discounts

    • @wiltzu81
      @wiltzu81 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SimisioLP hard to say. Financial statement from Lufthansa AG could tell that when here is investments listed but I am not going to start search. Big buyers indeed get huge discounts which can go as crazy as 70 percent. Even if you win in lottery and walk to Boeing or Airbus office and say that you need new aircraft, they most probably will give even for you as a first time buyer 20-30 percent discountfor buying just one aircraft. (And you only need to say, that you just visited in competitors office or are planning to do that and keep all options open.)
      Average list prices tends to be about 50 percent higher than average deals actually. Don't ask me why they would not just cut the price to half which I have been asking for years but there is couple factors for that: First you will be happy customer to close the deal as you get nice discounts. When you are CEO of Ryan Air and your assets are in right shape, you can then make huge deal with huge discount and best of all - if some one is in hurry to have aircraft, no worry, you can sell the slot and earn some money as you don't probablöy need all aircraft your self. Then the another thing is stock price: If you make 2 billion dollars deal with list prices, that for sure will boost your market value and climb your stock value. Suddenly you have 2 billion of new assets even that you truly don't have. But if you need loan money from banks, it helps to get better loan deals when there is assets even if they only exist on papers. But surely you can always think, that if you need to sell some planes or give them as deposit, it sure is good that it is valued as a brand new aircraft to 200 million dollars instead of 100 million.
      One story is to be highly valued legacy airline that buys lots of planes that exist only on papers, gets 50-60 percent discounts, then sells the planes when they arrvive to fleet and leases back. Finnair for example does that. You have get what you have wanted as one of first, you might sell them with small profit, you have then money to spend somewhere else and your assets are not stuck in planes which value will decrease meaning that your assets will also decrease.
      Some big boys says that Ryan Air's most profit business segment is to buy a lot planes and then to sell slots to others...
