These are great points Shane! However, I don't know if this is a So. CA thing but getting past the receptionist is a daunting task. 98% of the time they do not want to transfer the call or give you the name of the person in charge. Do you have any suggestions on how to get past the 'gate keepers'?!?

Got to find a value proposition. You are local, chamber of commerce, association, specialize in their industry, etc.
They get so many "google" and yelp phone calls nowadays, have to find a connection.
