I think the locking lugs must have some extra weight to them so when you do the strike, it lets them rebound a bit more than usual which causes the blade to slightly disengage? Not exactly sure because I don’t own a Glykon yet, but I have every other model of Microtech just about and I assume the locking mechanism is similar. Not exactly sure! Definitely not great considering the knife, but I’ve always been dubious of Microtech OTF’s for harder use applications. I’ll always go for an out-the-side like a Stitch.

I thought you were about to say "they don't really sound the same when they are fired" (immediately cut in firing off that SIG outside) because that's how you roll CBR.

I much prefer out the side auto's. As around the farm I abuse my knives sometimes, but auto's aren't my first choice. I generally carry Cold steel knives like the Ad10, Recon 1, Code 4 when working. The state I live in has some odd regulations on auto knives. I'm allowed to own and carry an auto, but retailers from other states won't mail them to me. So I'm limited to buying from in state retailers to avoid the mailing across state line issue. Also my state requires a foid card to carry one in public but not to purchase one. As pricey as Microtech's are I'd be pretty upset if the lock failed so easily. My only "Microtech's" are the Socom elite manual, two Socom Bravo's, and an Anax, all manuals. Interesting video, love that your videos are from a user's mentality instead of most "reviewers" who produce videos to sell me something. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about knives but there's always more to learn. At 53 yrs old I know what I like and what I don't.

@@CuttingBoardRx I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me. Three of my "Microtech's" are Chinese made by Rike. That being said they are very well made. I've got a few cheap Chinese otf's and most have required the rounded edges of the cams be filed flatter to stop accidental disengagements. In today's economy companies are probably cutting costs anyway they can. Lots of companies have been caught doing exactly that. USA made frequently actually means USA assembled. Alot of the knife community didn't like the Rike partnership, thought it might be a forshadowing of things to come. One example is the Demko Ad20 and Ad20 slim are produced in Taiwan but hand assembled in the US. Hoback knives use lots of Chinese parts but some of their models are completely Chinese made. Demko has been honest from the get go but Hoback only admitted the truth after getting caught. I've gotta ask, do you get tired of idiots on TH-cam looking to argue? I read the comments from the person who obviously loves their Osbourne 940, irrationally so imo. Btw my favorite benchmade is the Griptillian, never liked the 940 enough to buy one, handle too skinny for my xl hands.

I hope you meant to write that you bought a Glykon and not a "Glycon".

They look beautiful but will get you in a 6 foot hole with the wrong situation.
I like Sig's looks but I stay away from them because their history of issues. Microtech is another glorified brand with high prices to fit their niche. Good review btw, it wasn't a strenuous test. To me that is a safety issue they need to address especially, for the prices they charge.

I don't own one but they are really popular so I know many who have them.
The Sig P322 does interest me, so if I do get one it'll be that one. It would be great to get in more practice but not anytime soon for now.

@jordanns010 P320 had a major recall, look it up. They put a fix on about 4 years back and they are ok now. Trying to remember how many do I own… I think it’s three P320 and four P365
