  • For so long we have been doing Genting Hill Climbs, but today, we are on an ordinary road drive with the Proton X70, 1.5l TGDi - Turbocharged engine.
    With less power, many are quite uncertain about the power - so we did an ordinary drive (not that we hade very much choice, since we were on a media drive to Johore Baru and back.
    We did a highway fuel consumption test (the video is on this channel), and did quite well; note that actual figures may vary, depending on the driving style and driving conditions).
    In this video, we drive along sedately, following the speed limits (to a certain extent), but keeping to our lane since there is two way traffic.
    Overall, the 1.5 TGDi performs as expected - there is plenty of power and the driving is fun. Handling is improved somewhat, perhaps from the different weight distribution due to the lighter engine.
    Do watch the video, and please share it with your friends. And if you have not subscribed, do hit the subscribe button and press the notification bell.
    And of course, if you need to buy this or any other Proton, doe dropu s a whatsapp at +6061 335 0609 or go to

    Mr Khong, can you do video(s) on defensive or safety during driving in various conditions? Your driving during wet conditions tutorial with Toyota C- HR is very good such as braking to transfer weight to the front wheels.

    Layan jalan old road or kampung road memang best uncle, at highway so boring and boleh microsleep, cuma jalan lama ni jauh sikit berbanding highway.
    Pakai model SUV AWD lagi best like X70 AWD or Subaru tapi CVT gear adehh little bit spoil kalau manual best laa..😁
    Hatchback AWD lagi best syok layan conering sambil layan gear up down shift lovely..🥰

    Mr. Khong, loving your down-to-earth simple layman videos - very easy to understand. I have a question regarding the *steering wheel* mode - the there's two (2) modes, Normal and Sport. Can you please enlightened us on the modes?

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In sport mode, they make the steering heavier by reducing the steering assist. At high speed driving, some people do not like too light a steering feel, so they turn on sport mode, which also gives a more aggressive tune to the engine.

    How is the NVH compare to thr previous 1.8 version? I coukd hear the engine sound from your video, pretty obvious especially when you accelerate to over take thr car. Maybe your mic is too good.

    After 20 mins of trunk road driving in video, is it safe to say the final fuel consumption on meter panel is accurate (12.9L/100km)? Will the consumption rate going to be worst in city driving?

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to know when the consumption rate was reset.

    • @fadhlibukhori
      @fadhlibukhori ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@YSKhongDriving In the beginning it shows 12.8L/100km. Towards the end of the video the FC increased to 12.9L/100km. This means the 'accurate' FC can be worst but not any better right?

  • @willidevegt8831
    @willidevegt8831 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video. This video made me NOT wanting to buy this car. I saw an other video about this car where was claimed the FC was 1 liter to 14.5 km which i was very surprised about. Now seeing your FC telling me it did 1 liter to 7.75 km only. Yes i understand everybody has a different driving style and driving conditions but in your test the FC was nearly double from the other claim that difference is to big

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Please understand this is very heavy driving up the mountain, and naturally FC will suffer.

    • @willidevegt8831
      @willidevegt8831 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@YSKhongDriving I understand what you are saying but i believe the FC of this car really to be that bad according to your video the i liter to 7.75km was the average FC over a driving distance of 580km so it was not high only because driving up the mountain unless that mountain road you took was 580km long
      Any way to me this was a very honest FC review and not one where some one drives slowly slowly to get a better FC result
      Again thanks for the upload great job 👍👌

      To prevent abuse of the gearnox, shift shock. All boxes have their own protection mechanisms to prevent damage. They need to idiot-proof their cars.
