Lexus is moving away from V8s altogether, as is all car companies. In 5 years only a few V8s will be in production. I'd go election before I get a luxury V6.

But I can admit they have been slacking a few years. I've seen better interior and tech in German brands. Hell, Genesis is even molly-wapping Lexus right now. The NX recently got redesigned and the GV70 beat it in a comparison test and recently became Motortrend SUV of the Year. Show me a current Lexus that's winning awards right now...Lexus is starting to become the Buick of Luxury cars. Meaning, it attract buyers who is 50 years old and up.
When designing this Lexus, I guess the engineers thought about long term reliability. Rather than having moonroof, a solid roof will last longer and thats the appeal of having TLC or Lexus LX. You won't stuck and you won't have to worry about anything. Gurrenteed. No other vehicle can deliver that. In life people have two choice, live luxury or live long.
It looks mad gorgeous both inside and out. Exterior gives a muscular look despite it no longer having a V8. Really love some NX things added to this vehicle.

the fact they were reliable was due to less complicated natural aspirated v8. its no longer a 20 yo vehicle, not even 10, maybe 3 at most and then you start having troubles with turbos. i think they messed up big. ditching the v8. in some countries land cruiser is known by just v8... like oh see that guy has a v8. specially in so many asian countries that dont have warranties because they import land cruisers that are usually couple years old from japan. and they do it only because it was a simple vehicle easy to maintain just brakes tires and oild change... maybe kds after 10 years but no more..... it will take another 10 years for these countries to have mechanics that understand this new v6
Everyone wishes and no one buys. Cant expect something if no one buys it. Toyota made the right call not shipping the lc300 from japan to the US but to the UAE, Middle East, and Australia (just to name a few) where they sell like hot cakes.

The LX came a long way. So much history of this iconic suv and I think this is best LX to date. This car needed better tech and a 21st century interior and Lexus hit the nail on the head with this one
20 MPG combined for this very big, very heavy and with over 400 HP V6 TT engine SUV is Amazing because the new very light and small GR86 with a small 4 Cyl. with only 228 HP has 22 MPG combined, Respect Lexus.
We have a 2019 LX. The V8 is great and reliable, but the gas mileage takes a toll on the wallet. They should make an electric LX!!! We will upgrade to an electric LX.

One thing i like about Lexus is their car can last forever. The best most reliable luxury car brand in the world. The one thing I dont like about lexus is they dont change their design of a car for many years. The, IS, LX and RX series look almost exactly the same for over 5 years already. Thats typical toyota for you. They dont change with the looks much. You can easily get a 2018 RX 350 and it look almost like the 2021 lexus RX 350. The LX 600 is pretty much the Toyota 4runner in luxury form. Since they stop the 4runner lineup, this is the car to go. I am so glad lexus finally update the looks alittle bit. I hope in 2022 and 2023 lexus change alot of their looks on their lineup.
There's something about the fit and finish of the aluminum trim in Lexus' that look so much nicer and genuinely expensive compared to other luxury cars

@@lochoangpham I completely agree with you. To be honest (and though I love the LC500), I've always thought the 5.0 liter V8 was a strange choice for such a sleek and futuristic design. On the other hand, the LC500h is woefully underpowered in my opinion and I was hoping to see an increase in power along with the rest of the LC's 2022 updates, but nope. I'd honestly prefer the hybrid variant of the LC500 if it had comparable power figures to the V8 model.

Hey Joe and Lori (and everybody) how are y'all (I hope fine, if not there is still alot of time left). I'm so happy that you are making a review on the "new" Lexus Lx, but never the less a bit bummed that Toyota took away the "iconic" Toyota Land Cruiser, but for that money most people would of bought the Lexus. So the Lexus Lx, the Luxury, reliable, offroad SUV (aka a reliable Range Rover without the status level and bad reliability reputation), is a nice Luxury SUV, that is the only thing close to a "new", but more luxurious Toyota Land Cruiser. Now I'm not complaining, because finally it have a redesign for more then over a decade. With now better technology for driving and offroad. Plus more luxurious then ever (but still doesn't have a panamera sunroof, why Lexus 🤔) anyways I think that the styling is ok, but I prefer the more boxier Land Cruiser (that's no sold in the US) exterior, with the Lexus interior. But if you had to choose (if was available) the boxy Toyota Land Cruiser or the sleeker Lexus Lx (don't know why but those trains reminds me of the Kia Telluride and the Hyundai Palisade). Or the competitors like the GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe (or suburban), Cadillac Escalade (or Cadillac Escalade esv), Mercedes GLS, BMW X7, and ext. (Sorry I said it would be short, but it end up as a long comment 😅)
I currently daily a 17 QX80. I'd love to someday upgrade to the Lexus LX. I prefer old school technology. But with the removal of the V8, I just don't know anymore.

For the money I’m surprised that they didn’t include a full length panoramic sunroof, considering the ultra luxury spec goes to like $120k. Toyota put one in the new Sequoia, for this price Lexus, that should’ve been standard lol
I still think there was room for a downsized v8, from 5.7L to 4.0L like a lot of the other companies did. When it came to power, a single turbocharger may have been enough to deliver the expected power while having a decent fuel economy.
I have the 2017 LX570 and I love it! This one is almost perfect! Pros: Too many to mention... Cons: No exhaust tip (sad... Makes no sense), No Panoramic Roof (Seriously!!! Toyota, wtf were you thinking? it's 2022), and why the driver side dashboard had to be so plain and boring, why??? Love the previous generation dashboard... Will I trade? Probably, but I plan on waiting for 1 or 2 years to see if Toyota realizes that it was VERY stupid not to add a panoramic roof and come up with something for 2023 or 2024!

I really like it. If you could marry the looks of the new Range Rover with the reliability of this thing you'd have the ultimate SUV hands down. I really think the revving of the engine in a non performance vehicle can be left out of the review. There is nothing to hear on a vehicle like this.

No Toyota and Honda got away for far too long with the 90s cheap interior. This is well over due. Toyota Honda owners Need to put crazy pressure on them to step up. Third world countries literally are still have 80s safety and interior features in current times and the craziest thing is people will 200k usd plus back home for one of these.
The grille on this Ultra Lux is nice better looking than the F Sports. The V6 Twin Turbo engine with a capacity of 3500cc is much better than the 5000cc V8, for folks in Asia import tax for bigger engine is pretty hefty so lower the capacity with twin turbo is very good. POwer is still there doesn’t compromise anything power wise. Very good review as usual!👍

And Toyota/Lexus has cleverly removed the Toyota LandCruiser from the US market, as it is identical to the LX in all respects but a $ 100K plus Toyota product, and that too with only 6 cylinders, will never sell here. As for the LX600, it remains to be seen - when the flagship sedan, the LS, sells for about $20-25K less, I am unsure what the folks in Plano were thinking. Brand loyalty is one thing, but customer loyalty to the LX, particularly after years of showcasing an outdated product, is unclear. Customers growing from one SUV product to the next within the brand may have long fled the brand. And unlike other premium brands like Mercedes, BMW or Audi, Lexus seems to think the SUV can be priced much higher than the flagship sedan. And expensive mistake that they will live by and learn.
Love the new refreshed update of the car. Only few things i would change is the transmission gear stick and make it a dial knob, panoramic sunroof and a fully digital gauge cluster not half analog and half digital but other than that its a solid SUV
Been always a Lexus lx fan but with 120k I'll buy Grand Wagoneer. 6.2 hemi v8 with better interior and exterior. Lexus playing the same game like 2008. The 2008 model lx needed 2 refresh to be liked by people starting with the 2016 model.

So the Lexus Lx, the Luxury, reliable, offroad SUV (aka a reliable Range Rover without the status level and bad reliability reputation), is a nice Luxury SUV, that is the only thing close to a "new", but more luxurious Toyota Land Cruiser.
Now I'm not complaining, because finally it have a redesign for more then over a decade. With now better technology for driving and offroad. Plus more luxurious then ever (but still doesn't have a panamera sunroof, why Lexus 🤔) anyways I think that the styling is ok, but I prefer the more boxier Land Cruiser (that's no sold in the US) exterior, with the Lexus interior.
But if you had to choose (if was available) the boxy Toyota Land Cruiser or the sleeker Lexus Lx (don't know why but those trains reminds me of the Kia Telluride and the Hyundai Palisade).
Or the competitors like the GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe (or suburban), Cadillac Escalade (or Cadillac Escalade esv), Mercedes GLS, BMW X7, and ext.

I currently daily a 17 QX80. I'd love to someday upgrade to the Lexus LX. I prefer old school technology. But with the removal of the V8, I just don't know anymore.

For the money I’m surprised that they didn’t include a full length panoramic sunroof, considering the ultra luxury spec goes to like $120k. Toyota put one in the new Sequoia, for this price Lexus, that should’ve been standard lol

I still think there was room for a downsized v8, from 5.7L to 4.0L like a lot of the other companies did. When it came to power, a single turbocharger may have been enough to deliver the expected power while having a decent fuel economy.

Pros: Too many to mention...
Cons: No exhaust tip (sad... Makes no sense), No Panoramic Roof (Seriously!!! Toyota, wtf were you thinking? it's 2022), and why the driver side dashboard had to be so plain and boring, why??? Love the previous generation dashboard...
Will I trade? Probably, but I plan on waiting for 1 or 2 years to see if Toyota realizes that it was VERY stupid not to add a panoramic roof and come up with something for 2023 or 2024!

I'm with you! I just through my hands up in disappointment. Even Germans SUVS has panoramic roofs. It's a freaking must. They already killed the Land Cruiser. So there's no excuse about cost cutting. I'm just baffled Lexus thinks this is the best can they can do for $127k

I really like it. If you could marry the looks of the new Range Rover with the reliability of this thing you'd have the ultimate SUV hands down. I really think the revving of the engine in a non performance vehicle can be left out of the review. There is nothing to hear on a vehicle like this.

I think that the spindle grille is appropriate. These things are supposed to say “Hey! Look at me!”
No Toyota and Honda got away for far too long with the 90s cheap interior. This is well over due. Toyota Honda owners Need to put crazy pressure on them to step up. Third world countries literally are still have 80s safety and interior features in current times and the craziest thing is people will 200k usd plus back home for one of these.
i like that the lexus letters on the back arent integrated into the body so you can have them removed for a clean look

The grille on this Ultra Lux is nice better looking than the F Sports. The V6 Twin Turbo engine with a capacity of 3500cc is much better than the 5000cc V8, for folks in Asia import tax for bigger engine is pretty hefty so lower the capacity with twin turbo is very good. POwer is still there doesn’t compromise anything power wise. Very good review as usual!👍

And Toyota/Lexus has cleverly removed the Toyota LandCruiser from the US market, as it is identical to the LX in all respects but a $ 100K plus Toyota product, and that too with only 6 cylinders, will never sell here. As for the LX600, it remains to be seen - when the flagship sedan, the LS, sells for about $20-25K less, I am unsure what the folks in Plano were thinking. Brand loyalty is one thing, but customer loyalty to the LX, particularly after years of showcasing an outdated product, is unclear. Customers growing from one SUV product to the next within the brand may have long fled the brand. And unlike other premium brands like Mercedes, BMW or Audi, Lexus seems to think the SUV can be priced much higher than the flagship sedan. And expensive mistake that they will live by and learn.

Love the new refreshed update of the car. Only few things i would change is the transmission gear stick and make it a dial knob, panoramic sunroof and a fully digital gauge cluster not half analog and half digital but other than that its a solid SUV

Been always a Lexus lx fan but with 120k I'll buy Grand Wagoneer. 6.2 hemi v8 with better interior and exterior. Lexus playing the same game like 2008. The 2008 model lx needed 2 refresh to be liked by people starting with the 2016 model.

Grand wagooner is overated .and the f sport trim has 7 seats and it cost 106k.so if anyone complaining well there are other trim levels
