      Yeah I think so too, at first it was good because we could complete both roofs in one visit because we didn’t have to leave some trusses back for scaffold/ block work etc. but now it’s getting such a big job it’s best in block again! Hahah gone full circle 🤣😬

  • @kevob6800
    @kevob6800 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The method with straps and the way you have done it are both accepted and are 2018 regs but a lot of sites / nhbc inspectors have had trouble interpreting it. You only need to do 2m ctrs on the rake not 1.2m, and the way you have stiched to the panel on the rake is wrong, they should be below the 4x1's so that insulation can be layed ontop for firestopping(done by the roofer)
    We also have to gauge the straps on the block gables so they land on a course

    • @ashleydavenport3794
      @ashleydavenport3794  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ahhh! Would probs be easier for nailing below the 4x1 too I’ll get on that next time! 👌 yeah we do too much for the brickys don’t we! 🤣🙄

    Instead of the 3x2 being stiched to the panel above the 4x1 bracing we have to stich a 4x2 underneath the 4x1 to the panel and screw the end of the straps into the 4x2.

      Yeah they replace taking the party gable up. Saves time and money I imagine. Still use the fire cavity socks but the boxes are in because nhbc say that fire can pass between the building in that section of the roof. Just another silly nhbc requirement.
