Are the pads cut to the exact truss spacing for each one so you just nail them on flush to top of each truss?

Yes mate! Most of the time they are 635mm as the truss is 35mm

Do you lads work on price or day rate?

I’m on price. The lad I’m working with is on a day rate at the min 💪

Realistically what amount can you consistently earn on price work?, like what would it work out each day on average and do you have to work longer hours than 8-4 to earn the money?

Hello mate, how do you get work, do you go online and see who’s hiring carpenters on site or do you work for someone? I’m new to the trade so any help will be appreciated!

Hi mate, I’ve been working for the same company I did my Apprentiship with for about 13 years now! Always had a nice amount of work with them and things so just stuck with it, I guess you’ve just got to get your name out there at first 👌💪

Not the nicest job in this weather. You guys are very competent but there's always room to squeeze a micro gain from every job. Stack your 4x1s directly on top of each other and mark them on the edges. A one inch mark rather than a 4 inch mark is a 75% saving in pencil lead!

I like it pal! A while a go I used to just put a line and a dash rather than a line and a cross so save time and pencil lead! You know what they say, look after the pencil lead and the pounds will look after themselves! Haha cheers for your comment!
