This song in and of itself has a lot of allusion to struggling with her Christian faith. Christian's are instructed to avoid fame and fortune, so, maybe she stuck to her guns and persevered? In that case, I'd say Ms. Marshall is a success!
I always loved her raspy, soulful voice. I wore out her first CD back then. She deserved a lot more accolades. Glad to see them uploading better copies of these videos. A great artist.

I just discovered Amanda Marshall and I am in love with her music. Somehow she came up in my recommended feed when I was binge-watching Tina Turner videos. Ms. Marshall has one of the most amazing voices I have ever had the privilege of hearing live. Her recordings and videos are incredible, but live she is beyond unbelievable. In 2001 or 2002, while I was living in Toronto, I won tickets and had the privilege of hearing her in an intimate space with Steve Anthony interviewing her between songs. (Sony studio, maybe?) Her voice blew us away with every song. I can't think of anyone whose voice has ever sounded so good live.

That opening acoustic guitar makes a statement and when the vocals start you fall in love. This song has it all. I love when her voice hits that rasp. That guitar solo tone really nails me also. What a perfect powerful song. Someone said she stopped making music. No Artists really "stops making music". Amanda has such a awesome collection of great songs. Im a fan for life.

Hello from Australia in 2023. I loved this song from the first time I heard it after it was released and it is still as good today as it was back then. Apart from being incredibly beautiful, Amanda has the voice of an angel and hair to match 🙂she always seemed like such a wonderfully engaging, sincere and down to earth person. 1st time i heard her sing was when she was the opening act for a Tom cochran concert. I was absolutely blown away by how great she sounded and the music. Once her set was done and Tom came on to do his music, 2 songs later we left.

I'm HERE because of a Google search for "Everybody's got a story" and I kept seeing pictures of this lovely young woman whom I had never heard of. WHO is Amanda Marshall? Curioius, I looked her up to learn more and I wanted to hear her music. I started with "I believe in you" and I was NOT disappointed. I love her sound and her style. She resonated with me. Then I find out how late I really am, that these tunes are old I had no idea ..... but no matter, I found them, I really like them and I am adding her to my playlist. thanks to whoever posted these videos..
