I'm 51 been a bricklayer since I was 16 .footings kill your body as does all bricklaying but that one leg in the footing and one leg up out the footings in 25 years it effects the knees and hips and back so please be careful trust me when your young you don't notice or care 👍good luck to you mate
Only 53 and ones and back are foooooked ! My message is this ‘ graft your arse off in your 20’s n thirties investing 30 percent of your wages and at 40 + get out of the game
I’m 43 can hardly walk with me back. Still trying tho. I’m getting out the game. Gona be a site manager instead. It absolutely kills you. And people complain when they get a price. 🙄
I went into management and ended up lazy n unfit and stressed all the time !! I ended up having a go at film directing and currently have my 1st feature film on Amazon prime ‘ one day at a time ‘
The amount of times I've heard the 1000 per day out of gobs in the bait cabins, then in the next breath they go outside scrounging cigarettes of people cos they cant afford any, seriously the building game is embarrassing at times
I'm a bricklayer of 38yrs, you can only lay a 1000 bks a day if you've got a good hod carrier, any amount depends on the labourer Ive never worked for less than £200 a day even 20 yrs ago, Footings are pretty easy, Anyone who can lay a 1000 facebricks a day will earn a fortune, Not many can lay a 1000 a day every day... If I get asked how many bricks or blocks can I lay ,my answer is " it depends on the labourer," unfortunately good hod carriers, monkey carriers carry the griff are few and far between, Most nw carry a bucket, so working on a price isn't very productive! Site work is alot easier too!
Yes, I've experienced it all myself, mate. Price work is just a farce. Other significant factors, like nepotism and the gaffer's drinking buddies getting the best deals, play a big part too. We all know the drill.
This lad gets loads of hate and i dont know why … half the bellends on here aren’t brickys . Anyone who works onnsite know his work is gonna be covered up so would he be wasting his time pointing up joint ?
