Charlie, I've used them trench block for years but used to put a perp on them.... obviously they are T and G, does the clerke of works or inspector have an opinion on putting a cross jointing or ?? I don't myself anymore and it's so much faster....
from a little google search either -255mm 18,1kg -275mm 19,6kg -300mm 21,3kg -355mm 25,3 kg can,t really pick it up from the camera but going by width of his hands i think its the 355mm thick heaviest ones. i can see why he is tired laying those for hours.😉
Fair play that you can get away with not perping your block never been allowed where I’ve worked because it’s weaker there not exactly a TandG bond half them don’t even interlock … very relaxed with regs down south… good for you like…
I once laid £4000 worth one day but was shattered so only did £2900 the next day , luckily the labourer came back in so it was back to normal and we did half day Friday for £3500 (gave him£100)in the pub for 12 .

Obviously couldn’t keep up especially without a bath. 2 x 4”solids was normal and if we were pushed, 3 x 4” solids up a ladder without a telehand or forky I was fitter than a butcher’s dog. Back then, I’d pick up 2 x 4” solids above my head no problem. I definitely couldn’t do that now though
Mate you are top dog at laying bricks, I’d love to work on site with you as a Labourer, it’s a joy to watch the skill you have, which it really is bro. You seem a good crack and I can see how lads learn from watching you and listening to you on sites

@@shanesullivan5656 M8 I can’t believe your experience sounds exactly like the job I had in Edinburgh. We had a company called Apple-Cross who went into liquidation with the crash. Anyway as you say we had to build with those bad boys when they already had been told that there to be banned & bought them on the cheap but just as you said we had a gaffer who made us work with them on your own at up to the steel height first lift and the whole job. It was complete torture. The houses were to be many millions worth in a rich area. Hence no kit all steel & block All the old school bricklayers were going crazy too & me being young and new to the trade was my immediate thought I can’t handle this job. I realised that they would not be allowed again but we had this site that was huge & we built with them for another year before the job was finished & so was all our jobs. The work dried up completely & we had to do anything to make money but as you said one guy had a stroke on site & a few others strained backs & wrists etc. 🧱. ✌️👍✌️
I would love to see someone try that in the super trowel there is a video the channel is roh brickwork and the guy made a video like a month ago were he was building a 8in or 9in brick wall and he was spreading the wall with the shovel and laying one side overhand like in the super trowel

I worked with a bricky who used to bring his wife and son out to labour to him if he was working on a Sunday and nobody wanted to work 😂
