I have some strange suggestions: 1. Karpacz, Karkonosze Mountains and its main range Góry Izerskie (Wang Church and King of the Mountains statue in Karpacz, the Meadow of Witches, Bobrowe Skaly, Zbójeckie Skaly with a beautiful viewing platform, Palace in Wojanow - 20 min drive or Czocha Castle - 1 hour drive from Karpacz, Janskie Łaźnie and the path in the tree tops); 2. Krynica Zdrój if you are in Katowice (Nikifor Krynicki - Polish painter was from there. It’s very pretty); 3. Zalipie (A beautiful village with painted buildings); 4. Masuria Region (Olsztyn, Bridges in Stanczyki, Polish horses natural reserve in Popielin, Wilczy Szaniec in Gierloz, Giżycko)
Katowice is Polish Sheffield. It used to be very industrialized. The mining and metallurgical industries were king. This is changing today. Mines and steel mills are closing. You must see Nikiszowiec districts in Katowice. It is an old workers' housing estate. In Silesia you have to try Silesian roulade with Silesian dumplings and red cabbage prepared hot. The surroundings of the agglomeration are fabulous. I am thinking of the Beskid Mountains.🙂🙂🙂
I thought exactly that when I was there, that it was Sheffield in Poland. I even called my video that. Check it out. th-cam.com/video/x5oehuykvxw/w-d-xo.html

Oh you should definitely visit Katowice in the summer! The Silesian Park in Chorzów (right next to Kato) is very beautiful, full of colors and music festivals. Old part of the city has some extraordinary tenement houses. Katowice is surrounded by beautiful forest, lakes in Dąbrowa Górnicza, fields, many, many parks. Come here in summer and I can be your guide! I'm an architect who loves nature and trust me - there is sooo much more to see around Katowice!

I am a 38 year old U.S male and first generation that will being going to this city for the first time. I have family I have never met that lives there. I have never been to Central Europe. I’m excited to meet the people and culture of my parents.
I went to Katowice about a decade ago and have been a few times before that. At the time there was a ton of construction being done around the city, I recently checked some photos from Google maps and it almost looks like a different place. Definitely feels like it's changing and becoming more colorful in the best of ways.
Guys really, thanks so much for sharing with us your Poland adventure, just shows us how beautiful Poland is and how much it has to offer tourists. Great guys 😃 👍, oh year lots of beer to try funny me saying that as I hardly drink 😆.
Between Krakow and Katowice is a beautiful Jura. A whole region of beautiful limestone rocks. The village of the fathers and the dog rock. In Polish Ojców. Pieskowa Skała . And a beautiful limestone castle Ogrodzieniec. See on Google
I went here with with a friend in Feb 2020 overnight on a cheap flight just before the lockdown and we LOVED it! I agree, most places are worth a visit if you have an open mind. Had a nice cheap buffet lunch of Polish food in the mall. Also had some vodka and a Lebanese platter at a place with really nice staff (hope it survived). Was impressed by the food choices, also a Georgian restaurant there. Loved the socialist, modern and industrial architecture, the Nikiszowiec area is really cool, seeing the old industry, had a nice cake there too, again super friendly staff. The Silesian museum is superb, absolutely superb! Found a nice bar with all kind of ales at the edge of the entertainment area, so cool! As this was my last trip abroad, as I'm still being cautious, I have great memories. Ok it's small, no so many touristy things, but I'd go again tomorrow.
are you in Katowice and you eat mexican food?! Why?! The silesian food is soooooo great! You have to eat a traditional Silesian dinner. Roulade, special silesian dumplings and hot red cabbage. The best are in a place called "Żurownia", and are called "kule bele". You must also see the star-shaped building, and Nikiszowiec.I'ts amazing place! Nearby, (a 10-minute tram ride), in Chorzów there is one of the largest parks in Europe - the Silesian park with a Zoo.
I've been to zurownia and it was disgusting. Today's Polish food is poor compared to Polish cuisine from 100 years ago, where you could eat healthy venison, delicious pickles, all grown in your garden or in nearby forests. The best Silesian restaurant is karczma pod mlynem where Silesian is spoken but the food is greasy, salty and full of carbs (that's typical of eastern Europe).
Nikiszowiec, a former miners and steel workers' district in Katowice, is great to visit as well, especially in summer. In Poland I would still recommend to visit: Łódź, Gdańsk (tricity) and Wrocław. Cheers guys!
You guys missed the biggest park in Europe- Silesian park, Nikiszowiec and Giszowiec, new city of Katowice, 3 pools park. That's a pitty noone adviced you what to visit there

I'm working now in that Super Modern "building next to Spodek" which is named KTW and nothing makes me more proud than a comment mentoning that building! For me, Katowice is the most underrated city in Poland. Katowice looks beautiful especially in summer. They are very modern and groundbreaking. An important aspect is that it is a city that has undergone a metamorphosis most quickly among Polish cities. There are gems of modernist architecture mixed with modernity. The Culture Zone is one of the best examples of the transformation of Katowice, a completely revitalized huge area with Spodek, KTW, the Silesian Museum, the International Congress Center, NOSPR, i.e. the philharmonic hall of the Polish radio. Finally, I can add that Katowice has a very original and alternative atmosphere.
i love that you guys actually get informed about the places you visit and see! huge respect for that! And the statue next to Spodek is a "Bebok" that's a creature from the Silesian Folklore that kids would be threatened with. The creatures were supposed to be living alongside people and be a bit of troublemakers and occasionally discipline kids who'd do something wrong. Now they're being repurposed and reimagined as helpers and icons of the local folklore. The Bogucice ceramics factory produces amazing ceramics with Silesian folklore motives and a lot of artists take inspiration from that as well, particularly one who paints Beboks and flying trams (luftbana - Silesian neologism) on landscapes of the city.
You should visit Poland in summer or spring. Better experience. Personally, I don't like cities in winter, it's cold and gray. BTW, visit Toruń city someday, medieval capital of gingerbread.

Hi, someone from Katowice here: 2:46 right next to the hotel there's a tenement in which the Katowice conference took place, during which Jews from around the world decided that a Jewish state will be created. 4:00 the market square can be divided into 4 parts, but that only matters for fairs, those parts are divided by tram tracks and the AIOLI building. 5:21 that's actually a KTW2 building - it's an office building that was finished this year 5:25 Spodek was actually build just because local authorities wanted a sport area. It was not done because Stalinism ended, but despite Warsaw unwillingness for such projects. A lot of things in Silesia were initially build illegally by local government until they were too big to hide, when it was often like "oh my, look at what the people started building completely on their own, now we've gotta finish that". Of course non of that was actually made by the people on their own, they were paid to do so. It shows also how much Silesia changed after 1989 going from the Chad "I'm gonna do what I wanna do" to this complete boot-licking state it is now. 7:00 No, it's just the Museum that is closed. Everything else is open. 7:25 yeah, having been living here my entire live I often hear that there's nothing here to visit which annoys me greatly. 7:58 1st uprising was just a bigger workers strike. Second uprising was to abolish German secret police (SIPO), which didn't had a referendum as it's goal, but it was added as a bonus. Poland then lost that referendum fair and square, but didn't accept the results so made a third uprising to take that land into Poland. So pretty much only the last one was about being a part of Poland. Silesia has a huge sense of self-identity that most importantly is separate from Poland 9:10 those are tenements, it's where the workers used to live, but are not industrial buildings per say. Yeah, come to visit Katowice and greater GZM. It's a lovely place. There are even more interesting places you didn't showed which would be great to visit sometime, like the Nikiszowiec, Guido Coal Mine, Silesian Park (to build it Katowice allegedly changed their name to Stalinogród for 3 years), Zgoda camp, Industrial Monuments Route and so much more.
As you are in Poland try to get some thunder stone ;) when thunder hits the ground its became a stone. I am living in UK nearly 20 years and British people never seen them
Dear English friends. Coming to Polish in winter is a crazy idea because in winter white bears walk on Polish streets. Summer in Poland, on the other hand, is beautiful. In Katowice, they did not see a very interesting housing estate from the nineteenth century. It is a mining estate.
I hope one day i will see you in person here in krakow Poland im always watching your vlogs thankyou for shareng and beeing friend here in Yt i am a small youtuber from Philippines now working here in KRAKOW POLAND... hope to see you mam and Sir 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
And when will you come to Łódź? It is a large city in the center of Poland. It is not old because it was built in the 19th century, but it is worth seeing for its eclectic tenement houses and post-industrial buildings. In Lodz, you can also eat unusual dishes such as "prażoki", "steamed dumplings" and "zalewajka".
One of the best night clubs in Poland is in Katowice, it's called P23 (from the street name, Porcelanowa 23) and it's located inside old porcelain factory (hence the name of the street), it's amazing inside, everything is red brick, I've been there twice and raves are amazing in such environment
Because they care more about what they look like than to respect the culture typical ego obsessed children, the same couple that dress completely unmodestly in other religious countries aswell
If you wanna se post industrial city, go to Łódź, 3rd biggest Polish city by population. It is also a city with biggest number of old brick buildings in PL. It was neglected during the years after II WW, now under full speed renovation. City of Łódź is located nearly in the center of Poland, just 1 h (130 km) on train from Warsaw. Enjoy Poland
5:25 And when you are next to the Spodek in the night and it's illuminated, it looks like the world's biggest gas stove burner. And you're never able to unsee it. 6:53 Yea, museums in Poland are closed in Mondays.
Guys, you should visit Wrocław. Except the fact the city is absolutely stunning, you can also find there these little dwarf statues that you can go and search for; the more you find, the better at city exploration :) Plus also need to go on SkyTower roof, to see city panorama
@@dabbleandtravel When in Wrocław, you should move from there to Wałbrzych. In the region you will find absolutely stunning castle, Zamek Książ, and also mysterious Kompleks Riese, a construction project of Nazi Germany between 1943 and 1945. It consisted of seven underground structures in the Owl Mountains. It is said that Nazis were building these tunnels to work there in secret on their wunderwaffe. Still no one knows what they were building it for.
Katowice is an interesting city with an interesting and sad history. If you are in Katowice, you should visit the "Wujek" mine. On December 16, 1981, the army and ZOMO attacked the defenseless miners of the "Wujek" mine. The miners went on strike against the imposition of martial law in Poland and demanded the release of the arrested Solidarity activists. They were shooting the miners. 9 people were shot and 23 were injured, the youngest was 19 years old
Very good material. You Speak very clearly english and i understand 100% what are you saying and its cool. Come to Gdańsk someday 😊 and you have to(!) watch salt mine in Wieliczka. YOU HAVE TO - its very Close to Katowice
I'd say you should check out Bielsko-Biała, as the square and the city in whole are cute great. And it's clode to the mountains so you can actually go for a walk and grab some beer :D
Thanks for saying nice things about my city. One correction though, the statuette seen around 6:29 is not an alien. It's a bebok, a sort of imp/gnome/troll like figure that played pranks and scared kids in silesian folklore.

We have primary forests in Poland. Such a natural proto-European forest. On the map you have to look for Białowieża. Bison live there
We also have the Elblązki Canal, the only such attraction in the world. Between the lakes, the ship is lifted and transported on the railway tracks

I want to see the snow and winter personally if I ever came I like sillesian food especially sausage
I give you 2 other tips. Castle Pieskowa Skala and Monastery of Czestochowa. Both of them 40 minutes away.
Thanks!
Your pronounciation of the city name is perfect. Thanks for nice and informative upload. All the best in all your travels!
Thank you! 😃
Great video, love the unique places 👍🙂👍

Hello from Katowice :)
Awesome breakfast area
And what about Silesian Park, the biggest park in Europe with many atractions? (but mostly in Summer)
That's good you go somewhere different, not just to Warsaw or Krakow like most videos show.
Thanks for watching!

Stay tuned 😄😄😄
One of the best night clubs in Poland is in Katowice, it's called P23 (from the street name, Porcelanowa 23) and it's located inside old porcelain factory (hence the name of the street), it's amazing inside, everything is red brick, I've been there twice and raves are amazing in such environment
Does it still exist? Couldn't find it on Google Maps
@@noahgressmann1536 Yeah, it's in a place called Fabryka Porcelany
As always guy’s fantastic vlog loved it thanks’s again for sharing/ Ps hopefully meet up, cheers
The only way to survive in any Polish city in winter is to drink mulled wine, that's so right :D
You know it 🤣
Yuk give me a vodka
One thing in poland, we don't eat sitting in with cap. it's a big no no.
When he takes his hat off his hair is completely flat , sorry 🤣
Because they care more about what they look like than to respect the culture typical ego obsessed children, the same couple that dress completely unmodestly in other religious countries aswell
Omg! I lived here to 7 yo. In September I come back to study in Katowice! Love this place;)!
Thanks for watching!
Really good, big big like 👍👍
Thank you so much n
You are right to go on adventures even if others say there is nothing to see. There is ALWAYS something to see...keep in vlogging..
Thank you!
Thanks for watching and for the recommendation!
Łódź is the "Hollywood" of Poland.
I love Katowice
Us too!
IEM KATOWICE 2022 WELCOME !!!!!
Hey, thank you to visit my city, see you next time :)
Thank you!
Cheers
5:25 And when you are next to the Spodek in the night and it's illuminated, it looks like the world's biggest gas stove burner. And you're never able to unsee it.
6:53 Yea, museums in Poland are closed in Mondays.
Wow! Thanks for watching!
Everyone forgets about Chorzowska 50, a ship-shaped building. One of the most interesting in Katowice for me
Thanks for letting us know!
Do You try "Tyskie" beer maybe? It's a beer from my hometown (20km from Katowice)🙂
I am english I drink alot of tyskie and zyweich
Heimat🙌🍀
Guys, you should visit Wrocław. Except the fact the city is absolutely stunning, you can also find there these little dwarf statues that you can go and search for; the more you find, the better at city exploration :) Plus also need to go on SkyTower roof, to see city panorama
Stay tuned ;)
@@dabbleandtravel When in Wrocław, you should move from there to Wałbrzych. In the region you will find absolutely stunning castle, Zamek Książ, and also mysterious Kompleks Riese, a construction project of Nazi Germany between 1943 and 1945. It consisted of seven underground structures in the Owl Mountains. It is said that Nazis were building these tunnels to work there in secret on their wunderwaffe. Still no one knows what they were building it for.
All of your Polish videos have currently 1.1 K views, which means same people watching all of them probably ;)
Upper Silesia :) cheers :) BTW, Zabrze has Szyb Maciej also, i forgot to tell You, but You probably done a research :)
😉 thank you for watching!
@@dabbleandtravel I Like Your vlogs :)
9 people were shot and 23 were injured, the youngest was 19 years old
Thanks for the comment !!
Katowice was briefly renamed to "Stalinogród" in honor of Stalin during the early 1950s.
I really liked this city as well. If you climb up onto the roof of the International Congress Centre, you can get an even better view of the Spodek
Amazing!
Very good material. You Speak very clearly english and i understand 100% what are you saying and its cool. Come to Gdańsk someday 😊 and you have to(!) watch salt mine in Wieliczka. YOU HAVE TO - its very Close to Katowice
Check out our recent videos! Thanks for watching!
I'd say you should check out Bielsko-Biała, as the square and the city in whole are cute great. And it's clode to the mountains so you can actually go for a walk and grab some beer :D

@@dabbleandtravel its 45 min from katowice its the most important city in Poland!
Thanks for saying nice things about my city.
One correction though, the statuette seen around 6:29 is not an alien. It's a bebok, a sort of imp/gnome/troll like figure that played pranks and scared kids in silesian folklore.
Thanks!
I live in Katowice center. This Mercure Hotel is new building
Amazing!
Those stupid mecure places are everywhere
My son is at present at this town.
