She scarfed them down and then went to the fridge and found another bowl I had of them and ate all of them. 🤣🤣 When she stops eating them, I’ll reduce the amount I grow but for now I’m growing even more. Great video & helpful. Just winter sowed a variety of perennials as I want to get a head start on seedlings... wish me luck. Looking forward to planting poblano peppers after you did a garden tour, show casing them.... Thanks.
I got a few hot peppers from the dollar tree. I’m not a hot pepper eater, but I told my mom I would make some hot sauce for her. Then my aunt found out I was making the sauce too. So, I’m excited for them.
I experimented last year and bought a package of long red and yellow and purple rustic peppers and took just the red seeds and threw them in a grow bag. I had way too many sweet peppers. The whole back of the yard was filled with them.....and they grew huge. Im gonna do it again because I learned some things from that first trial.
Couple of questions if you don't mind? What kind of soil do you use and did you use fertilizer? I've only tried growing sweet peppers twice, and both were a fail, so I need some tips if you wouldn't mind. Thanks!

@1:46 I don't blame you Asia, I tried companion planting last Spring/Summer and I wasn't really happy with the outcome. I am going back to what worked for me. Thanks for sharing, I have a couple of old binders and will try out the planning.
Hey Ms Asia love your seed organizer. I hv one also. Newby gardener just absorbing ideas from soil fam. I'm fighting w/growing spinach, I hv to master this 😉 ordered some 7 gal bags I heard u mention also. The naive me started out w/some 3 gal bags and 5 gal buckets (buckets were fine though. 💐🌱

Hello Asia,I'm growing the green bell peppers and red peppers. I started my peppers inside on January 15,I want to try different types of tomatoes this year also.Tfs awesome video 😊
I want to grow all of the things too lol! I am growing sriracha, violet sparkle, jalapeno, lesya, california wonder, and a bunch of other peppers lol! Thanks for sharing!
Just wondering if you ever made tomato powder with your dehydrated tomatoes? The thing is you have to make them go longer than usual ...they cant be bendy they have to be completely dry....I love it because if I only need a table spoon of tomato paste I can make just that amount.. and not have to waste the rest of the can of tomato past because I only need a little bit....I sprinkle it in soups and stews , you can make tomato juice from it, all kinds of stuff. I just found a few TH-cam on how to make it and so glad I did...If you make it what do you use it in ?
Love this video! Talking through your experience with and reasons for choosing (or not) specific varieties is super helpful. Re beans, this year I am trying dragon tongue bush beans because another gardener said it has a much longer harvesting window than other beans, which would be great for me because (like you) I have a full time job and can’t always pick fast enough. Happy to send you some of these if you want. I ordered a pack from Baker Creek which should be arriving this week. LMK

But, I searched “yellow door urban homestead” and found you/followed.
Love watching your videos. Since you have a small space, have you ever considered growing vertically? I garden off my deck in a Greenstalk vertical planter. I’m a newbie at it, but I’ve been having good success. Also, I’ve found it addicting! I started with 2 GSs (Greenstalks). Now, I have 6.
Thank you! I don’t have a vertical planter, yet lol. But I do grow on cattle panel trellises. Happy to hear you have had success with them. I have my eye on one or two lol.
I do similar when planning my garden, and especially this year now that I know my garden better. Will definitely enjoy seeing your big scale gardening plans. Odd question, but have you ever grown celery root? I am unsure when I should start my seeds proper.
O ok cool! It’s definitely helps when you start to learn your garden. I’m happy that’s happening for you. I haven’t grown that yet but I’ll look it up. I like growing new things.
I vote for part 2! I’m going to try using more bags this year. Last year some of my 25 gallon bags that I had in a kiddie pool got a lot of white stuff on the bottom and everything died. Not sure if it was mold or calcium buildup from the water. All the videos I watched said the bags dry out quickly so I was watering them everyday but I guess since they were bigger they held on to more water and I ended up overwatering. I’m going to get smaller bags like yours and see if that works better. What type of soil do you use in your grow bags?
I plan to record part 2 tomorrow. O ok. Sorry to hear that. I don’t have enough space to have a kiddie pool in garden area but I have heard and had people say that. I used Kelloggs container soil and Black Kow to fill my bags. I also throw granulated fertilizer in them at the start of the season as well.
I think I got them from Baker Creek. www.rareseeds.com/pepper-sweet-habanada?campaign_name=%7Bcampaignname%7D&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAz8GuBhCxARIsAOpzk8yG7uwS05vA9lTxREmrKI3KiZnOXjyZauyve-VtjNxOfQRy6620ZNsaAgGJEALw_wcB

@1:46 I don't blame you Asia, I tried companion planting last Spring/Summer and I wasn't really happy with the outcome. I am going back to what worked for me. Thanks for sharing, I have a couple of old binders and will try out the planning.
Great video as always 👍 Have a blessed day 🙏 See you in your next video 😊🤗🥰🌿🍃🍅🍅🍅

I'm excited to grow Zulu peppers
Just wondering if you ever made tomato powder with your dehydrated tomatoes? The thing is you have to make them go longer than usual ...they cant be bendy they have to be completely dry....I love it because if I only need a table spoon of tomato paste I can make just that amount.. and not have to waste the rest of the can of tomato past because I only need a little bit....I sprinkle it in soups and stews , you can make tomato juice from it, all kinds of stuff. I just found a few TH-cam on how to make it and so glad I did...If you make it what do you use it in ?
I haven’t but I plan to this year! Thank you for all the information. I’m sure I’ll be coming back to this comment this summer!
Thanks so much for sharing
Love this video! Talking through your experience with and reasons for choosing (or not) specific varieties is super helpful. Re beans, this year I am trying dragon tongue bush beans because another gardener said it has a much longer harvesting window than other beans, which would be great for me because (like you) I have a full time job and can’t always pick fast enough. Happy to send you some of these if you want. I ordered a pack from Baker Creek which should be arriving this week. LMK
PS would love to see your garden diagram once you figure out where everything is going and hear why you made the decisions you did about placement.
This is my 2nd year backyard, small space gardener. I’m looking forward to starting my medicinal herb garden. I’m looking forward to your medicinal herb planning and selection because my space is limited. Love your channel and can’t wait to see your garden layout this year.
We're putting in a new garden area. I can't wait to start planting. My past seed starting efforts haven't been very successful.
Thanks Asia for the info
O ok congrats! I’m sending good vibes on this try for you! 🫶🏾
I plant Blue Lake pole beans that are stringless and have a good flavor. I am in zone 5 and I don’t know how they will take really hot summers.
thanks for sharing, I am going to get my plan together
Last year it was so hot my tomatoes didn't do great either.
I just watched your garden tour on another channel and subscribed immediately! I am on my 3rd year (not consecutive) at my current house so I’m still learning my land. I also have 9 chickens and am learning to preserve food.
This January video is exactly what I was looking for!
Your garden is SOOO beautiful. I feel so inspired after seeing it. I love your organization and how you like to keep it simple. I will follow your Instagram too! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. 🙏 ❤
Edit: Just a heads up- your Instagram link on your TH-cam channel doesn’t go to your account. But, I searched “yellow door urban homestead” and found you/followed.
Awesome video 😊
Good morning Asia! I do a planner too, it makes things less chaotic lol. Happy growing 💚
Lol I totally agree!! Happy growing to you as well!
🙋🏾♀️Great class ♥️ L💖VE it G👀D Job👍🏽
Where did you get your seed holder/organizer? Love your videos thanks
I got it from Michael’s. It’s a photo holder!
Try the Barry's Crazy cherry tomatoes
Ok I’m gonna look those up! Thanks Broke!
Okay great. That’s exactly what I bought this year to fill my bags. Wish me luck!
Hi Asia Thanks for this info. It really helps. Where did you get your seed containers. They look to be great organizers.
Hi 👋🏾! You’re welcome! I got it from Michael’s. It’s a photo holder.
Do you like making your own Tomato soup and would you be willing to share your technique on a cooking video?
I haven’t tried that yet but I’m hopeful for this coming season. If I do I’ll most certainly share!
Hi! 😊 Do you have a video from when you made the pepper powder?
Hi! Yes I do. I’ll have to look back through my videos. If I find it I’ll come back and link it for you.
i do small cucumbers i dont like the large ones
I can’t find seed for the habenato peppers! I’m stressed cuz you have me wanting them.
I think I got them from Baker Creek. www.rareseeds.com/pepper-sweet-habanada?campaign_name=%7Bcampaignname%7D&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAz8GuBhCxARIsAOpzk8yG7uwS05vA9lTxREmrKI3KiZnOXjyZauyve-VtjNxOfQRy6620ZNsaAgGJEALw_wcB
