Greetings from New York, zone 7B! 😊👋🏽 Hardening off my tomatoes & green peppers this week. Finally getting consistent warmer weather in daytime in 60’s and evenings in the 50’s. Already planted potatoes, carrots, herbs … a variety of pollinator wild flowers, marigolds, zinnias & nasturtiums from seed. Crossing my fingers since it’s my second year gardening! 😅 I love your channel and a loyal subscriber , just discovered your channel a few months ago! Happy Mother’s Day Asia & all the mommies who watch your channel! 😊❤️
Hi Asia, just discovered your channel, simply amazing. I am a recent military retiree and love experimenting with growing I'm my backyard. Love the content. Please continue definently an inspiration.
I think a lot of the 'garden rules' we are told, are just ways of fool-proofing the gardening process, specifically for new gardeners. But if you've been gardening for a bit, you have a feel for plants at their various stages of life and how not to kill them. A newbie doesn't have that experience yet and dying plants can be very discouraging if you've never gardened before. I never touched sunflowers once they sprouted, for years. A couple years ago I learned, I can pull those cute little sunflower sprouts out of the ground and move them anywhere I wanted--as long as I am very gentle with their root. The more you garden the more you learn. Beautiful start, sis! Can't wait to see the gardens BOOM this summer. 🥰🌱
Like you im planting densely. Tomatoes, cucumber, peppers mint( ginger, orange, apple, mexican), beans, cantaloupe, 2 watermelon, corn, peaches, blackberries, etc and perrinal and annual flowers, sun flowers and adding shade trees.
I use lobster / crab shell in the soil. That is really good too! I also make my own fertilizer. Smells so good! 😂NOT! (we are in N. Florida zone 9) Lot's of tomatoes already, corn is coming up to my waist , the melons are doing great flowering now.
I am glad you said you haven’t planted everything out. Because I felt as if I was late but I know I am right on time. But I can’t help how I feel. But I thank you I am not by myself. My tomatoes look like trees now. But this week I am getting everything in the ground. Happy gardening.👩🏾🌾 😊 I just got all my fertilizer and things my starts need.
First year gardener and YT aggregator here, seeing you pull so much and have a message that you can do it for less is very encouraging. Being year one, I'm like Sears catalog on so much stuff. Year two is going to be about saving money and DIY. I also feel better about my crowded space watching your videos. I just built my fourth grow table and have a seed buying problem (lol). Now, I'm like...okay if Asia can do it , I can find a way to make all this stuff fit. Thanks for posting your experience, very inspiring. (sub'd). :)
I love how your garden is coming together. I 'm still at a standstill when it comes to my garden. I still have to get my garden beds put together and but I keep getting rain and My husband wants to cut the grass before we lay out the weed barrier. I 'm just ready to put it down and smother out the weeds. But the rain is what keeps delaying us. I tell you what the next non rainy days we have and its two days in a row imma get that lawn mower out and get this grass cut!!! The only thing is its a rifer one and my brother in law has to show us how to use it. I'm just so ready!!!!
just found your channel and it is insanely inspiring what you accomplished. We are just on the beginning of our journey and its crazy motivational to see this. instant sub haha
Hello ma’am. I have recently become a huge fan. I do aquaponic gardening and traditional gardening as well. I’m familiar with your home town. I lived in Petersburg when I attended VSU back in the early 90’s.
The Kilimanjaro are white and they do grow large. I love them and it has become one of my favorite marigolds to grow. Super prolific, grows really fast as well. My scabiosa zinnias did not actually grow in the scabiosa form which was really disappointing. Hopefully you have better luck. 😊
I love that you don't stress too much about the things you can't control and that you get so much joy out of your garden. I can't wait to see everything start growing and producing. I am going to plant some today(May 7) I haven't gotten the handle on seed starting yet so I am just planting some flowers that I bought and whatever seeds I can get in my raised garden bed and hope for the best. I am also in zone 7b so any tips are super helpful.❤
Greetings sis, garden is looking good. You're helping me to get back motivated to complete my many garden tasks, I still need to complete lol. What size grow bags do you use for your tomatoes? I believe I already heard you say this in one of your previous summer videos. If I'm not mistaken, I believe you use 7 gallons. But I want to be for sure. I got some 7 gallons on sale, but I'm not sure if I should've gone with the 10 gallon for a bigger harvest. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance and Happy Gardening!!!
SHABBAT SHALOM. I STUMBLED UPON YOUR CHANNEL AND ENJOY IT. I STARTED INDOOR GARDENING. YOU INSPIRE. WHAT BOOKS DO YOU RECOMMEND? TODAH. HAVE AN AWESOME SATURDAY.
Hello 👋🏾! Thanks for watching, I’m glad you have enjoyed the content. O ok nice! I like Jess from Roots and Refuge book. I didn’t do a lot of book reading. I used TH-cam and took notes from the internet.

Incidentally I am in south Korea.
You're doing great! Do not follow all the rules in gardening because you never know. Do your thing.

Hi Asia Are you going to do a room tour of the makeover ?
Hi 👋🏾! Yes I will hopefully in my next vlog.
Planting is always a good time
You can dig down deep enough and take a big root ball of soil to transplant anything that cannot be transplanted. I have done it for years.
I grew Candy Cane Zinnias the last two years, they are soo pretty ❤
👋🏿 family ❤️🖤❤️🖤

Hi 👋🏾! Thank you! You are correct I use 7 gallon bags. I use smaller bags so that I grow more plants. 10 gallons will work too though.
Hey Asia. What kind of camera do You use. It looks really great. 👍🏿💯👑🧑🏿🌾
I love all your videos, but I can’t wait to see how your quail are doing. What you’re doing with them.
Thank you! I’ll do an update on them soon. Thanks for mentioning it!

Almost time to plant out in Ohio and I can't wait.
Awesome! I know you’re excited. I spend my whole weekend planting out.
Grateful for your content! You said bugs...🤦🏾♀️ cicadas, spotted lantern flies and snails are my nemesis.
Hello from Central Illinois! I planted 75 strawberry plants this morning and covered them with insect netting. Cicadas are coming.
O wow! You’re gonna have a lot of strawberries! Nice. How long do they normally stay? We don’t get a lot here.
@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead the cicada invasion will last about 2 months

I planted aswad eggplant from seed but forgot my usual black beauty had to spend 5 dollars on a start, gotta be more careful 😂
Lol 😆
I was just wondering how come you don't plant your extra plants in your front yard
My front yard is very shady. Not much grows up there.
@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead ok
Lovvvvv-va how you DON'T follow the rules 😂😂😂😂😂 same here
Hi. Where did you get/buy your Roselle seeds?
Hi 👋🏾! I believe I got them from Southern Seed Exposure.
