  • This offseason, Mizuno invited WPW Founder Mike to Haga, Japan to document how a pro glove is made. Haga is a beautiful town high in the mountains of central Honshu, Japan's main island, and its where the Glovemeister's team of technicians supplies ballgloves for about 40% of the Nippon Professional Baseball League, and some of our favorite defenders in the game.

I live in Osaka for 8 years and went a lot in the new Mizuno shop where you are at the beginning of the video ! Great place, bought a lot of my stuff there, they also made my name in japanese in my glove and batting gloves I buy there every year. I can also have a great look at their most recent Haga gloves, they are so expensive (around 70000 yens). Also fun fact, a staff there was a year under Hiroki Kuroda in highschool and won Koushien the year after Kuroda graduated ^^
Anyway great work ! Can't wait for the 3rd video.

@@xandonovan6149 It's their most expensive one, but there are other "Mizuno Pro" gloves around 40-50k also, I bought mine on internet for an US model Mizuno Pro I liked, less than 50000yens, a glove style and color I didn't find in Japan. And of course there are other great gloves around 30000 yens I think.

Just bought the Wilson a2k under $300, comparing with the Mizuno pro haga $600 and Mizuno pro $350 (US version, made in China), my choice was the made in Japan a2k... Seems like the Mizuno lost interested in the US bb glove market, top it with price hikes on all bb gears, their classic pro line isn't thriving as used to be (bring back chipper Jones to rep, because the global elite and pro select lines never will be equal to old classic pro line), they promotes the running and golf gears + apparels more than the baseball gears...

Why do you need gloves in baseball anyway? Cricket players can manage to catch a hard cricket ball without gloves and the only fielder to wear gloves is the wicket keeper and even then the gloves literally just cover the fingers so what's with the scoop around the gloves in baseball?
