    • @my2l

      nokona gets floppy quickly, and the attention to detail is not great. Japan makes far better gloves. They have premium selection special order gloves that put even the best pro issues we get here to shame.

    Nice to know that my "Wilson A2K" was made in a 1st world nation like Japan and not some 3rd world sweat shop like you're competitors with golden patches do. Love this series of videos, like knowing where our babies "Wilson's" are made from. I don't think? the consumer is conscious of those 18 hours of a hot monsoon season to make 1 glove possible. If I were a Pro, I would love to visit the Wilson glove lab.

    • @megatron3859

      JessyR1V 1) the term "3rd world country" is just a phrased coined after WWII for a country that didn't align with the NATO allies or the communist bloc. It doesn't pertain to their socioeconomic status.

  • @joeblow5958
    @joeblow5958 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Agree that the thinner laces used by Wilson allows the glove to function properly early on, but they lose their tensile strength too quickly, and the laces stretch. I find myself constantly tightening laces on the A2000’s. Once a Rawlings HOH or Pro Preferred is broken in, it functions great, and the heavier laces don’t stretch anywhere near as much. I stick with Rawlings.

      1. 18 hours is for when they are making all the preset models/colors and have all the materials set up for each one of those, for efficiency.
      2. Lots of people order custom gloves not just yourself.
      3. They also probably only add a color/material to one of the custom gloves when they are doing the same type for a lot of others, most likely for efficiency.(that’s just a guess)

    The A2000 used to be made at a factory in Ironton, Ohio. When they closed the factory the major league gloves were still made locally by a small staff of their top craftsmen. The A2000 made in Japan is junk compared to what the Ironton factory produced, and I’ve got gloves made in Ironton and Japan to prove it.

    The only problem with Wilson or the laces. He’s right Wilson does use thin laces. But in this case, their laces are not up to the quality of rolling. They should sneak somebody into the rolling factory or higher somebody from there and find out what laces they use. Because Rawlings laces are far superior. As far as the gloves leather, they’re pretty close. Wilson uses the same leather for A2K and A2000! Rawling uses the A2K leather for their Heart of the Hides. And then they use the kip leather for the pro preferred. so there’s really no reason to buy the A2 8K from Wilson. They say they used the top 5%. Which means that they just look at it and they choose which leather they think is better. Which means not too much.

    I'd rather buy a Nokona. I'm sure these Wilson's are ok, but if I'm spending $300 on a glove it will be the best, and USA made.

      Nokona gloves are now being made in the Philippines. Went to buy one today and saw it on the tag. Very sad I would of gladly paid the $400 for it but not if it’s made overseas and we all know it was cheaper to make.
