- A lot of guys have asked how to start hotshot . Its really the number one question . I always suggest you do your own in depth research 🧐 because everyone is different. But here are some of the few basics when it comes to starting your hotshot business. We will probably make another one some day were its more in depth on every piece but hopefully by then you would have done your own research and started yours ! Mannnnn I'm soo glad I found this channel. I never thought I be looking for hot shot videos. This has been something I wanted to do in the past 3-4yrs. I drive trucks otr I have a cdl and this is what I want to do and have my very own authority and company.

9:36 hit me hard. I had a great job, but got tired of it, so I quit and went to flight school. I spent all my money to get through, but now I have my Commercial Multiengine instrument dadadadaa etc... It's not easy for a new pilot and jobs are insanely hard to find let alone their insurance accepting your low hours even if they do want you. So I'm back at the bottom, I work 55 hours a week sometimes everyday of the week and hustle car detailing on the side and it ain't cutting it. I've always had the entrepreneur mindset and money is everywhere just how bad do you want that freedom to chase it. Anyways I've been really looking into Box trucks and hotshots for a month and now it's 11pm, I'm sitting in a hotel room (on the road for a company(driving a 26ft)) and my body/mind is tired. I get the customer payment paperwork and I calculated they'll make 7-8k on the low end after deductions(everything I could think of) for me being on the road 4 days. I'm going for it when I get home and not looking back. These videos we're god sent. Thank you.

I have had a class B CDL because I would occasionally drive a satellite truck. I have had it since I was in the military. After a military retirement I was a SatCom field engineer until I got medically retired 7 years ago. I couldn't keep myself occupied enough and I have driven a school bus for the past 3 years. The wife is going into full retirement June 1st but she retired as a school teacher with 31 years back in 2012. We are headed towards Savannah leaving the ATL in June. I am buying a F350 to jump into Hot Shot trucking where we plan on using it to travel America while getting paid to run the roads.
I wanted to echo other comments which say a fully and heartfelt thank you. I have been driving for over a year now local/regional and making nothing. I mean, can't make anything or buy anything not a living wage type of money. I am looking to move "up" in this industry and am greatly torn between hot shot and CDL semi. I am thinking I might do better at hot shot but I just don't know.
I thank you for all this hard earned knowledge. I am certain it saves me months if not years of learning in a ten minute video. I owe you your drink of choice my good man.

Wow man! The way you lay it out is perfect. Been looking to start my LLC for close to 6 months. I’m currently making decent money, about 70-80k local CDL. I love trucking, but I’m a slave to the hand that feeds me. Scary walking away from a steady paycheck. But I’m sure if you walked away and don’t regret it, I could do the same! Thanks for the video

Wowwwww thank youuuu. I have my CDL A and I’ve been only driving big trucks for 2 weeks but I knew the 1st week I wanted to get into the Hotshot world!!! I decided to learn what I needed to do and this was the 1st video I chose. I just want to say thank you. You changed my life and you have no freaking clue. I spent 35 years in the car business, dealership sales, brokering for a local broker and then on my own with my own dealer license. Then came COVID which wiped me out. I'm really interested in taking the plunge into hotshotting but am nervous about taking the plunge.
Based on what I've seen so far I agree that getting a Class A CDL is the way to go as trying to fight the non-CDL battles just doesn't appear to be worth it.

Today I was telling a friend about this, and how I wanted to get into it. He's in the car business too selling cars. He said he could get me a job picking up and dropping off cars.
I said cool, then I'm already a driver for hire and this should help me get a loan to buy a dually and trailer.
So that's me plan. The funny thing is, this is the first video I watched on your TH-cam channel and I laughed when I found out that's how you got the idea to do this, so looks like my plan is solid lol.

As a truck driver for 12 years, I have come to realize that It will come a time when you won't be able to drive trucks again and feed for the family.. So the better the best. Opportunities comes and go try as much as possible to utilize it because nothing last forever

I have about 30k saved up to start and was thinking of leasing or buying a semi but figured if I could start cheaper the way your Dad did that would be awesome! You guys are killing it. Don't spend your money on a semi , I was in the business for 40 years it's full of crooks and gangsters, if you have to get into trucking look into hotshots .
Studying for my cdl now and I really been leaning towards the Hot Shot route. Great information! With so much to consider, I'm starting to feel like getting into this business at age 40 may be too much but I'm going to take a stab at it anyway! Congratulations to you and your fathers business!!
