Do you know how helpful this video is? You're a life changer. I'm going to trucking school in March of 2022, and plan on company driving for 6 months to a year, save money and get my on tractor. This is super helpful. Thank you, and you have a new subscriber in me.
What about the trailer it can cost the same as a truck , insurance 5- 7 thousand down payment , start up cost for business like dot number and all Legalities, don’t rush anything get your experience save , save , save set realistic goals 6 months is not enuff experience it’s not as easy as it looks trust me in 6 months you probably would still have a hard time getting into backing spots
@@jaylou9801 very true, I’m 3 years in and still learning but also looking into getting my own truck soon. Saving Is the critical part after the experience.
YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TIME OFF IF YOU DO THAT.. TRUCKS NOW ARE 150K AND UP FOR A NEW ONE.. YOU HAVE TO DRIVE ALL THE TIME BECAUSE IF YOU TAKE A WEEK OR 2 OFF, YOUR PAYMENT IS STILL DUE... ANYWHERE FROM 700 TO 1000 A WEEK. YOU CAN MAKE JUST AS MUCH DRIVING FOR THE RIGHT COMPANY. OR JUST LEASE ONE.. DON'T BUY.. BUT SAME THING ABOUT THE PAYMENTS. NOT REALLY WORTH IT.
@@ndspeedster that’s part, that’s what I’m afraid of I don’t want to dig myself into a hole, I have two options in 2-3 years max, to either get my own property with 25k down here in So Cal, or get my own truck do drop and hooks save up another 2-3 years and take it from there, but I have heard trucks and everything got expensive and yes I have been told by a owner op once he said I made more than him or the same amount but then again he had to pay me also, but I guess if you work with a good paying company or owner op you will make good money just save save save. I have been planning on getting into the trucking business but was a little bit sceptical, after watching this video, my energy is at 💯 % up. I’m all into it I will be going to the driving school for my CDL next week I must succeed God helping
I absolutely loved this video! The most in depth, clear, precise and helpful video on booking loads that I’ve seen to date. I understand a lot of creators want to keep their videos on the shorter side but when it comes to information, the longer the better. Thank you for this video 👍🙏
One thing that’s not been told is having your authority right now is saturated. So many people are getting their authority. Equipment is going up. A $35,000 dollar truck last year is now $65,000 to $70,000. Understand price hikes on equipment is going to affect your profits. You could get a new dry van last year for $32000 last year, now they’re $60,000. Just do all your calculations before you jump out there because it’s very expensive as of today.
Exactly and on top of that, all these newbies jumping into trucking not realizing its not a get rich scheme and they’re hauling this cheap freight that he’s speaking of and they’re fucking up the rates for O/O that have been out here and knowing what loads are supposed to pay. Trucking has gone to complete shit all around
Thank you so much after sorting through video after video of people going on and on you actually broke it down to the information I need to get started thank you again
You are a star. You should have been a teacher. Straight to the point, essential, informative, usefull and actionable data, clear explanation. Keep up the good work.
Good info bro. I’m in the process of my authority and didn’t know if I needed a dispatcher to ensure loads as a new authority since everyone don’t wanna deal with them until experienced
Yes TQL trick I see is when you find a load from them and call and negotiate the rate then you find that it actually is picking up 80 mile from the posted pick up or like one time I spent time negotiated to go to Pittsburg PA and after almost done found out it was acutally 30 miles in the into NJ.
Thanks for all the tips and advice man this information is gold. Not many like you my brother im very interested in starting this business soon so I appreciate this. Blessings to you stay safe out there 💯

I just got insurance with Prime if that helps you. I have under a year experience and a new authority. 1,000,000 liability, 100,000 cargo and few other small ones for my truck and trailer
Always take pictures before picking up a load, and when dropping a load. 👏🏽 get all of your pay, none of that partial pay bs
