Family been in trucking for well over 75 years.. had 3rd largest crosstown in chicago... cartage and local ltl is the the way... I will tell you what I make about 625 for a 20 mile round trip.. pick up a loaded container back to whse then back to rail or a cy yard. Total time invested varies. Some are a 2hr turn and someday I sit for 6 hrs just to get a lift.. keep all that long haul crap.. and because I've been driving well before cdls came out I will tell you. You need to go directly to shippers.. why cause brokers and 3rd party might have the loads on the board for hundreds, example ch Robinson landstar hub group etc.. and you are out about 45 to 50 percent off the top.. also you want to move a container tell you what chicago rail to oh or michigan. I get about 2200 dollars. No brokers nkt working with steamship lines. Dealing with shippers direct or consignee direct.. period... keep all that other crap
You are right… people willing to take the $1 and $. 80 cents a mile are the ones killing the freight market. Its why brokers get away with crap they do because they take it…. They don’t negotiate loads, they just take what is posted….
Best video and advice from your dad. 51 year old, with a CDL Class A in Texas wanting to start up my own hot shot business. Hope to get in contact with ya'll soon. GOD bless you and your dad, stay safe.
$1 a mile? He lost his friggin mind. I run a 32 ft, non-CDL, intrastate and the lowest I've ever run for was $1.90 just to get out of a bad area I didn't want to layover in.
@2:16 , the bad thing you have people that are doing that. They take these stupid paying loads and then use the " will it's better than 0$ dollars ", and they are F'ing up the game. Leave those no-paying loads and keep your truck park. A load paying 1 dollar per mile from CALI to Jersey is going to eat at least 600-720+ dollars in just fuel cost on avg.
Hot squad is always using logic… you guys, hotshot haven, Kendall enterprise and hauling cash…always showing what real trucking is like busting knuckle logistic said in his video the” rest of them guys are TH-camrs looking for subscribers”….. keep up the good work hope to see you guys on the road🚛🏁💙💰

I have a lot of respect for this man and how he just broke down the fundamentals of the hot shot business on a level ANYONE can grasp! I appreciate the knowledge, I had to subscribe to see if there’s more. Which I hope it is. From him tho! Lol! Thanks for the session!
Thank you for keeping it real, I can’t see how they can say that they make money getting loads at a dollar a mile
This man is the GOAT! You have inspired me!! I’m ready to get like you! I have the money! I’m ready!!!
Just did thank you 🙏 god bless!
Maannnn! That is the best advice going....thank you for putting this out.
$2/mile is bigger than $1/mile. Boom.
POPS hittin' the game with that one-two punch upper cut knowledge. Just RAW!! 💯
Truth! I appreciate you two! Thanks for all the advice sirs! Trying to get started and you two have really helped!
He went out of business. You called it!
Love this man he is giving him the truth
Damn I felt that "are you slow". 🤣🤣🤣
$1 a mile? He lost his friggin mind. I run a 32 ft, non-CDL, intrastate and the lowest I've ever run for was $1.90 just to get out of a bad area I didn't want to layover in.
Love this video bro! Like you say just to hear another brother say it then is resonates!
I respect pops you’ll keep it up. one day I’ll see you’ll on the road
I want to get started in this business. Nothing long term, I'm just wanting to be able to work long enough and save to go back to school comfortably.
Great teacher giving out helpful information.
