"Man, what a nice day! I wake up feeling really happy and alive! Oh, what's this? Someone reacting to The Caretacker again? Welp, time to feel depressed again! Why I keep torturing me like this?..."
@@graysonwells21 maybe not for you, but i couldn't sleep in my room for 2 weeks after listening to it, and i couldn't sleep without music or a podcast in the background or the sounds would creep back in my head and i'd get all paranoid and the hair on back my neck and scalp would stand up. I needed a light too, i, a grown ass 22yo became afraid of the dark again for the first time since i was 8. Im ok now but it was a tough couple of months to get through. Nothing has ever affected me like this before, and i've seen the most fucked up videos the internet has to offer, like stuff that you would call me a sick fuck for making up for but is real. Idk, maybe it was all bottling up in my head and this piece was the final straw to just make me snap...ah shit im rambling..
@@John-X I mean, when I listened too the full album it started near the beginning of the afternoon to near night time for me, but I guess maybe because my grandmother has Dementia and Alzheimer’s that i kinda experienced some of it already? At least from an outside perspective. Of course people will always have different reactions and effects that make it it’s own experience for individuals but for me i guess I heard it for what it is.
@@John-X am 13 and when I was listening to stage 5 I got paranoid about closing the bathroom door because it's usually the darkest place in my house. just finished the album yesterday, was amazing.
The last 6 minutes of this project broke me. The whole six and a half hour experience, led up to those final 6 minutes, and every second was worth that ending. I feel different because of it, changed. I can’t really describe it in words. The last 6 minutes of this album is worth millions of years of waiting. It’s the most beautiful thing I ever herd.
it does, much like how joker, taxi driver, and other slow burn movies do it over time, Everywhere at the end of time does this for nearly 3 times as long, and delves into a much scarier and visceral human experience, in the fear of losing yourself and all you are to something you cannot control, but know is coming.
I think the caretaker made both A1 and the last part the most memorable parts of the record. A 6 hour album, and the most you remember are the beginning and the end (at least, that was the case for me).
@@alx2900 I listened to the whole thing on youtube with a friend, it didn’t really hit me until I broke the silence with, “thats the most fucked up and prettiest thing I’ll ever hear in my life” and then I started bawling uncontrollably, it was so sad.
I teared up up in Stage 2 thinking about a family member going through dementia. Stage 3 is where i felt disturbed and paranoid. the rest of it was a lot easier to get through but Stage 3 was really fucked for me.
If you're reading this I just want to tell you that the last 5 minutes are from a real process named "terminal lucidity", and is when a person with dementia or other illnesses stay fully aware of everything, but it only last minutes, days, or even with a lot of luck one month
I understand why he started crying at the end. The first time I heard it, all I thought were just the peaceful angles singing to me as I slowly drifted away and it hit me pretty hard at that moment. Shit really affected me for a day
Like, what I believe (just what *I* believe, anyone has the right to disagree with me) is that those vocals were supposed to be voices but the pacient simply can’t understand them properly
From stage 3-6 I had forgotten some stuff to do and did nothing but stare at my feet in my seat . Proceed to let my tears drip , I felt so empty my face expression went blank . And yes I mentally started to break down silently internally. The last 6 mins of stage 6 I cried and screamed out with tears it really made me snap in a not okay way. I have yet to recover, but now I am truly traumatized. I cannot stop thinking of the whole horrible things people go through .
@@alexandragitaisaza6498 I find it to be a beautiful peice of music, yes it did strike me at first, but to be able to make a peice of music with such a story. No words...only the deterioration of a person's mind.
I'm so grateful for a stream like this. I have mental issues (anxiety, depressive tendencies, ADHD so I hyperfocus on things that disturb me and makes me lose sleep), so I'm glad I can feel like I'm not going through this alone.
Stages 4, 5, and 6 use songs from stage 1, 2, and 3, but pay them over each other. Stage 4 just plays them over each other with medium distortion, 5 slows down the music a fair amount with heavy distortion, and 6 slows it down even more, and heavily distorts it. Those simulate the moments when the brain has degraded so much that the memories blend together and contradict each other. There is so little left of the memories that the brain links what little is left from the existing memories into something incoherent and confusing when remembered. And it gets more thin and vague as it progresses to stage 6. Stage 3 is still coherent, but the memories are heavily fogged over and the details can't be remembered, just a vague recollection of the events.
stages 4 5 and 6 also use samples from past caretaker albums, since this project is literally the caretaker, the canonic character who compiles music, getting dementia
A very fitting game to play. Not just because it's gonna be one of those games a lot of us younger people will look back at when we're old, but also because of the brutal feeling of void and loneliness the game can give you at times.
@@Malmorious Yeah man, I 100% agree. I plan on listening to the whole album myself again without streaming. Just thought it would be interesting to do it first time on live-stream. ✌🏻
After watching your video “everywhere at the end of time vs the internet” I thought that you immediately deserve a sub, great work, definitely a super underrated channel
6:36:46 From Wikipedia : "Terminal lucidity, rally before death or end-of-life rally, refers to an unexpected return of mental clarity and memory, or suddenly regained consciousness that occurs in the time shortly before death in patients suffering from severe psychiatric or neurological disorders.[1][2][3] This phenomenon has been noted in patients with schizophrenia, tumors, strokes, meningitis, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's disease.[4]"
@@grandmasteryoda2605 i dont know if this has been proven fully, but from what I recall during psychology and online studies + documents, terminal lucidity happens usually a month or a few hours from death. Essentially as the bodies primary functions degrade and stop, they send signals to the brain that almost flush your neural network in an attempt to reboot, but obviously it cant. This 'reboot' in a sense, clears areas where plaque buildup in the brain is, causing neurons and synapses that were once clogged, to become a bit more clear or forward and that gives the patient that flood of things they remember. Happened with my grandma. She gained lucidity in the last 30 minutes she was alive, and even remembered that my gramps passed away nearly 10 years prior. When it happens a while before death i.e 2 weeks, the memory flood can be more slow, and they really only gain basic functions back till the last few days.
@@grandmasteryoda2605 It actually happens in almost all dying patients. i think the voltage or something gets increased, so the brain can more easily unlock memories (i know it's probably not voltage, it's a different process.)
This live stream was really entertaining. The dynamic all three of you had made watching this whole stream worth it. I'd love to see more, regardless of whether or not you cover any more dark subject material of this matter. There's a certain charm all three of you have that makes listening to you even over the course of 7 hours captivating, in a strange way.
I wish I had people to listen to EATEOT with all my friends take one loo at the run time and just give up. I'm happy to watch some other people experiance this project
In the last song I imagined a little old lady laying in a chair, unblinking, looking at nothing in particular. Not knowing what to feel. She doesn't know where she is, or who she is. And she fades away from reality, she passes. Needles to say my imagination worked against me and I cried like a baby.

I'm playing Minecraft while listening to the stream. Before I was thinking that the gameplay noise was annoying because it was scaring me whenever I heard the creeper hiss. Now I realized that just contributes to the effect...
I always listen to this album alone, Its nice to hear other people voices contemplating while I was reading this time tho. The isolation and confusion I get from this album really makes me thinks especially with plain lukewarm tea.
1:35:02 Something's happening with the camera here, right? It shifted and there was a weird arm movement, someone please confirm. I'm worried BTB suddenly stopping messed with my perception but it looks the same each time I check it. Edit: It looks like he's jumping and never falls, the game just teleports him to the ground. Jeez that was weird.
My great grandmother used to call me by my fathers name. Before she started losing memory, we were so close. But after the dementia, she wouldnt even remember me. I always had to remind her that i wasnt her grandson (my father) but actually his son. And shed remember for about 10 minutes, then lose the whole conversation, and start calling me by his name again. It hurt so bad, to be entirely forgotten by somebody i was so close with. But she at least remembered me when i brought myself up... Until she didnt anymore.
limen, liminis (genitive) means threshold in latin. liminality, or something liminal represents an in between state, neither here nor there. physical, metaphorical, or even psychological. a liminal space, like an airport, exists as the barrier between two different spaces/perceptions. not yet coming, not fully gone. the transient energy can be unsettling.
I've been listening to as many versions of Its just a burning memory for the past 4 months... it's crazy how much I've thunk about it since I first heard it. Also the al bowlly version is so fun to listen to honestly, and finding new versions of Heartaches is fun
I can't click the play button on most videos which show this video, but if I'll ever listen to it I'm definitely using this video. Need commentary. Don't want another anxiety attack lol Thank you for this
Near the end (6:36:55), where actual music starts kicking in after hours of "music" kinda fits the fact that people with memory loss will hum their favorite song before dying. Sad.
look- I cried when I was just skipping through the songs so I felt like I needed to listen to the whole thing and I think this is a good way to do that Edit: i decided not to do it as the first few songs already triggered really bad things in my head. (this really isn't a joke so please be safe and see if you can handle it everyone! ♡)
No, I think I’ll listen to it even if I feel existential dread or anxious that someone’s right in front of me under this blanket. You can’t stop me, can you?
bro i did the same thing but i didnt record, just played with friends was treating it like background music and oh my god when stage 4 started i genuinely felt disturbed and stopped
At every moment, I'm really missing what was just before, which at that moment seemed awful. "I miss the regular songs." "I miss the bits and pieces of song." "I miss the remnants of instruments.." I think that was probably the intent and I'm getting it so hard.
First time im fully watching the whole thing. I like this better than the normal album because it gives me slight comfort that im not watching this alone.
I was really surprised when you heard the whole album, it was so hard for me when I heard this album I completely fell before the 4th stage I really tried so hard to listen to the 4th stage but I couldn't stand the horrible sound of it and it made me obsessed with that tune and slept for 2 days straight, the worst experience of my life. :(
Awesome idea, I've been thinking about this. Listening to it would be boring so obv minecraft but maybe a bit muted or toned down. we are truly on the same frequency
Now listen to "Everywhere in the beginning of nowhere"... Being serious now, I really suggest it because it might be even better than EATEOT and the person who made it basically made if of the point of his grandma. Anyways this was an amazing video and you earned my sub!
this is the only time ive listened to the album all the way though, this album is just somewhat easier to listen to when others are listening along with you

@@John-X so relatable, i cant even be alone anymore. its so scary for me
The last 6 minutes of this project broke me.
Damn, those 6 minutes are really sad but it hasn't broke me
I think the caretaker made both A1 and the last part the most memorable parts of the record.
I like how eventually Tall Panda does nothing... it's like dementia in Minecraft and the player has forgotten how to play the game...
:o
That's a creative interpretation

@@jaquekod815 Yoo exactly!
@@jaquekod815 It's the samples for me. Despite hating the post-awareness stages, I keep coming back to hear the originals through the fog.
This is... the most relatable comment I have ever seen.
Same with the hyper focus I listened to the album 2 times in a row while playing ghost of tusima (spelt wrong ik)
Stage 3 is still coherent, but the memories are heavily fogged over and the details can't be remembered, just a vague recollection of the events.
stages 4 5 and 6 also use samples from past caretaker albums, since this project is literally the caretaker, the canonic character who compiles music, getting dementia
it feels like we are trying to see just one memory, but other memorys mix up together and make this
@@alucaardius yeah. That is exactly what is going on. But it is caused by the decay in the brain.
can you tell me when stage 5 M1 plays?
Yes. and sometimes the songs are even played in reverse, like seeing an upside down photo
A very fitting game to play. Not just because it's gonna be one of those games a lot of us younger people will look back at when we're old, but also because of the brutal feeling of void and loneliness the game can give you at times.

6:36:46 From Wikipedia :
"Terminal lucidity, rally before death or end-of-life rally, refers to an unexpected return of mental clarity and memory, or suddenly regained consciousness that occurs in the time shortly before death in patients suffering from severe psychiatric or neurological disorders.[1][2][3] This phenomenon has been noted in patients with schizophrenia, tumors, strokes, meningitis, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's disease.[4]"
How does that even *work?* Like, how is your brain completely destroyed and then suddenly it starts working again, very close to death? Weird.
@@grandmasteryoda2605 I'd say it's kinda like recovered cache after you've deleted them
@@grandmasteryoda2605 i dont know if this has been proven fully, but from what I recall during psychology and online studies + documents, terminal lucidity happens usually a month or a few hours from death.
@@xAtsuuko Ok, thank you for that information.

(Edit) this was a pain to write down.
Really late but THANK YOU SO MUCH there's wayyyy more parts in here that I'd like to see aka it's very detailed. Thank youuuuuuu.
Mans was getting BULLIED by creepers in F7
I'm still surprised that I sat though the album by myself
2:52:49 hell bells
You mean hell sirens?
This made me remember hells bells by acdc, an actual coherent song thanks bro, sis, or pal
@@koolkat-hq5xc there's also hell bells by Bruford (with a more jazzy approach), and you are welcome I guess
I'm playing Minecraft while listening to the stream. Before I was thinking that the gameplay noise was annoying because it was scaring me whenever I heard the creeper hiss. Now I realized that just contributes to the effect...
Everywhere at the end of time? Nah I like to call it that one album that made me still awake last night
I always listen to this album alone,
Its nice to hear other people voices contemplating while I was reading this time tho.
The isolation and confusion I get from this album really makes me thinks especially with plain lukewarm tea.
This music strangely calms me now
It used to scare me into tears but now it's the opposite
Bro when he died to those skeletons and lost his stuff, I felt his pain
I watched a good chunk of your video, especially the later stages, because I was too scared to do it alone so thanks! great experience
I listened to this alone mostly without distractions and hearing any of it now makes me feel sick.
i listened to the song over days and stopped half way through stage 6 because i kept staying up all night thinking about mortality
You don't realise how much It's Just A Burning Memory is distorted until you hear the original song.
It might be lag idk
4:06:50 the echo ish noise reminded me of drifting in time misplaced
this is poggers
So controversial yet so brave
Poggers
5:25:50 Wow cant belive that he forgot his literal left from rights after going throw a heartache
I really hope Ollie comes back to youtube. A year later and i'm still waiting for his return.
Imagine listening to stage 6 in the end
The worst part is growing up and seeing your mom or dad go through dementia not knowing they made you
My great grandmother used to call me by my fathers name. Until she didnt anymore.
limen, liminis (genitive) means threshold in latin. liminality, or something liminal represents an in between state, neither here nor there. physical, metaphorical, or even psychological. a liminal space, like an airport, exists as the barrier between two different spaces/perceptions. not yet coming, not fully gone. the transient energy can be unsettling.
i'm watching this to make it feel less lonely lmao
a friend and I got inspired by this and played terraria while listening to this,
that was something
we need more people listening to this while playing a game or playing subnautica or stranded deep or forest
Don't want another anxiety attack lol
Thank you for this
Near the end (6:36:55), where actual music starts kicking in after hours of "music" kinda fits the fact that people with memory loss will hum their favorite song before dying. Sad.
Saving this to my watch later just incase i have 7 hours free time and nothing to watch
marcels sense of humour is elite, I love it
That's my brother 😎 so proud of him for this one
@@doctorsugar no way! He seems like such a cool dude
@@the_padzer3456 yeah i'm definitely cooler though obviously 😅
i actually make videos with the both of them on my channel if you want to see for any reason lol
@@doctorsugar that's so cool! I've just subscribed to you. Tell your brother I think he's a great lad. I'm sure you are too!
Great stream 10/10 totally not gonna be having nightmares tonight
Thanks dude, I wanted too listen to this album but I have ADHD so I want something to keep my mind busy
Time goes faster whenever you are doing something else like gaming because the game distracts you
I think it was made so when you ware headphones it cuts to only one ear then back to two. I think this because it happened to me too.
look- I cried when I was just skipping through the songs so I felt like I needed to listen to the whole thing and I think this is a good way to do that
Edit: i decided not to do it as the first few songs already triggered really bad things in my head. (this really isn't a joke so please be safe and see if you can handle it everyone! ♡)
No, I think I’ll listen to it even if I feel existential dread or anxious that someone’s right in front of me under this blanket. You can’t stop me, can you?
“If you’re thinking of doing this at 1:00 in the morning...”
me who’s watching this at 1:30 a.m.: 👁👄👁
listened all the way through whilst playing minecraft myself
omg!! that local 58 connection is genius, i can't unhear it.
You're lowkey a legend for this one
Currently 3 hours in and I've just completely forgotten that this was once pleasant music.
I like your reactions!!
bro i did the same thing but i didnt record, just played with friends
was treating it like background music and oh my god when stage 4 started i genuinely felt disturbed and stopped
"empty darkness with death"
1:30:34 holy shit your face
you deserve way more subscribers
At every moment, I'm really missing what was just before, which at that moment seemed awful. "I miss the regular songs." "I miss the bits and pieces of song." "I miss the remnants of instruments.." I think that was probably the intent and I'm getting it so hard.
4:33:56 is when synapse retrogenesis starts
how tf did i miss this goldmine
I had no patience and keep on not passing stage four. Maybe this will keep me entertained.
U guys are real one for sticking though the whole album 🙌 👏 👌 🤧
First time im fully watching the whole thing. I like this better than the normal album because it gives me slight comfort that im not watching this alone.
I was really surprised when you heard the whole album, it was so hard for me when I heard this album I completely fell before the 4th stage I really tried so hard to listen to the 4th stage but I couldn't stand the horrible sound of it and it made me obsessed with that tune and slept for 2 days straight, the worst experience of my life. :(
I like how as it goes his room gets darker and darker
/ Kieaser / / Snow / had some good advice
The end comes for you.
don't expect it.
i got so depressed with this wonderful album that it even made me want to vomit not ironically, when I feel a huge sadness it makes me want to vomit
Idk how but when I hear stage 6 the end, I don't cry or anything. I didn't even feel sadness while listening to it myself.
Same, finally I'm not the only one, I just found it so peaceful and ambient is so relaxing.
Everywere at the end of time is probaly the first thing I saw that can make grown men cry
This song also describes getting older in North Korea.
Awesome idea, I've been thinking about this. Listening to it would be boring so obv minecraft but maybe a bit muted or toned down. we are truly on the same frequency
Man I’d be awesome to listen to this in the theatre and hear everyone’s ugly crying sounds at the end lmao
Now listen to "Everywhere in the beginning of nowhere"...
Being serious now, I really suggest it because it might be even better than EATEOT and the person who made it basically made if of the point of his grandma. Anyways this was an amazing video and you earned my sub!
the thing is is that its 3 hours longer which is absurd
@@BlissBee took you 10 months to respond
sorry?
why does everyone cry at the end of stage 6 when the choir/angels sing yet im just like
🦆epic
You seem to like Back There Benjamin lol
Dude I was literally thinking about playing bedwars while listening to the whole thing
i respect you . .
this is the only time ive listened to the album all the way though, this album is just somewhat easier to listen to when others are listening along with you
3:01:41 this is the *please end me* house
