i was so disappointed with almost everything after surface level, it's not even creepy or mysterious, it's just either something everybody knows or just a silly meme.
I'm actually kind of disappointed that most of the things in the lower levels are just made up or stupid memes. Edit: Now there is a part 2, part 3 and even 4 where he talked more about obscure alpha/beta features and interesting theories. That's just the things i love about iceberg pictures👍
Bread From the Dimension of Frosted Plants I kind of mentioned it at the end but there are definitely some strange things from the very early days of the game. Like at one point I seem to remember starting the game with a stone house. Some other things that come to mind are chain mail being crafted with fire and the void fog. Another thing is the Game Theory videos. I never really watched them before researching this video, but he does a good job of thinking about how strange the game is. For example, we just sort of get used to enderman, but they’re actually pretty weird when you think about it. My hope is that more interesting things are going to show up, especially since Minecraft is having a renaissance of sorts.

does anyone remember in the old version of bedrock that at the build limit on the edge of the world, there was an endless solid area you could stay on?
I had a (possibly unofficial) version of Minecraft Pocket Edition for my ancient iPad. The worlds were really small, and at the world border was an endless void; I recall in creative mode you could fly above the build limit and walk on it, and you could walk endlessly in any direction. Closing the world and respawning would result in you reappearing within the bounds of the world border again. Is that what you're referring to?
Yknow I thought I was ready for it considering almost every iceberg theory I've seen has had at least one jumpscare moment but nope, not even mental preparation can save me from when it actually happens
I like the idea that in a future update (prob will never happen) there could be a tiny chance of Herobrine spawning in the world. He wouldn't hurt the player, but with random structures and more it would be easy for someone to know they're not alone.
I mean ... there ABSOLUTELY is. Some of them shoot arrows. Some of them just punch you to death. Some of them are absolutely silent until they explode and kill you. I don't know why Herobrine is scarier than all of these.
20:34 as I remember, in older versions 1st person was the normal view, 2nd person view was what ppl now call 3rd person back, and 3rd person view was the now 3rd person front
Quick easter egg: when you run on soul sand using soul speed boots, theirs a chance to see a tiny little blue soul flying from the block. Once you do that, you instantly realize that the soul is thanking you from releasing his/her grave that he/she died at.
Oh no the "the main character is in a coma and hes just imagining things" theory even got Minecraft. They just couldn't fucking stay with movies and series
@@GranddukeofWales no there are super many theories like this one. One would be that in Pokémon, ash is in a coma and is just dreaming this whole thing and all the Pokémon are like regular animals.
The cave ambience in real life is interesting, I swear I heard some of the cave noises before either in other games or something... Hearing them for the first time made it feel like some lost memory was trying to come back...
the evokers "Wololo" is a reference to a different game. in that game there is a wizard which can covert enemy troops to his side. when he does so he says "wololo" the sides are colour coded red and blue. when the evoker makes the wololo spell he turns blue sheep red.
For more specifics, the game is Age of Empires 2 (AoE2), and the unit in question isn’t a wizard but a Monk, who invokes the power of the Wololo to convert enemy units to your side. So I guess that Evokers are corrupted Red-colored Monks who were against a Blue-colored Empire.
Y'know, I've allways wondered why it's written as wololo, given it rather strongly sounds (at least, the portion played in this vid) as " wininee". I've played Age of Empires 2, and have never heard the "wololo" played in-game. Now, I *have* heard a different one, and it goes " hi-yo oh-o", and is typically followed by "wininee".
17:35 actually the steve spawn egg did exist, although I believe the steve mob it spawned was simply called called "monster" the mob itself was removed in 1.6, but the spawn egg could be given with commands up to at least 1.7 (thats the last I remember seeing it, it likely existed past that but has been removed since then). It was a colorless egg which did nothing, but in 1.6 and prior it would spawn the steve mob from those early alpha versions
I believe this iceberg is missing the biggest mystery of Minecraft: what in the world is up with the credits and how does it tie into the greater picture in Minecraft's universe?
Honestly the credits have plagued me since the first time I ever beat MC. Ive always wished they added more lore to the game to expand upon this and make Minecraft a bit more fleshed out
Considering the talk about "higher levels" and the astronomy of Minecraft, it is either telling you to go outside, as someone else said, or it could lead to a theory that Minecraft is a simulation for the character to live in.
The Evoker audio is “Wololo” which is a reference to the RTS Age of Empires (1997), where a priest unit could convert an enemy unit with his chant “Wololo” where the enemy would respond “Narwini” it might be a direct rip but I don’t know.
@@theeraofb1 oh yeah. I believe it's the rbh+iro route. Those who played the game will likely understand, but I'd rather not spoil if someone's planning to play the game, but hasn't, even if it is minor.
At 8:36, which is Disc 11, someone found out that if you played the other numbered disc at the right moments, they'd mash-up together and make a story. It was pretty cool, albeit farfetched, but definitely still blew my mind.
Nevermind, just watched the rest of the video and you mentioned it. My bad 😂 But to anyone reading this, give them a shot! Use the other numbered discs added since then too!
The audio only plays when an evoker is near a red sheep and and after chanting it will change the color to blue (but it might be blue to red i forgot the order)
As an adult who has only just started playing minecraft, can I just say that I am absolutely fascinated by how these “scary” theories are almost identical to the urban legends we told each other when I was a kid. Children will be children, but now their culture is in minecraft
i have been following this game as a kid since its pre-alpha builds and i was never that much into the community but i remember when i was playing outside with the other kids at night and the oldest one would sometimes try to scare us by telling creepy minecraft stories he made up. It was really fun
I think they added something like that in bedrock a few updates ago. I remember seeing a weird spawn egg that was just named like entity something followed by a bunch of random numbers. using it spawned in a replica player that didn't move or do anything. It seemed unfinished and might have been added as a joke, or might have been a glitch or an accident. idk honestly. I just checked and it looks like it's been removed.
@@pelvissnatcher7274 No that's a monster spawner. It's a block that you can put spawn eggs into and then it will start to spawn that creature at a certain rate. They can also be found in certain natural structures like the end stronghold. A spawn egg is an item that you can use to spawn one creature at a time.
Here's one to add to the iceberg: Anybody remember gear wheels? Before redstone was implemented, notch posted screenshots of gears mounted onto vertical surfaces, the idea being that you could make things happen mechanically rather than electronically
i remember them sadly i was a potato child and didnt play minecraft when they were a thing but i did get a mod that added it in and played with them and i like that you can place them on walls
There should be an entry on the secret QR code on one of the old april fools update back then. When teleporting to a specific location, snowfall generates a giant qr code mural.
Fun fact: The End dimensions biome is, or at least used to be, called Sky in Java. Also, i KNOW you guys all tried building the Aether portal at some point just to have your dreams shattered because it was really a mod and not in the base game.
Believe it or not, with inventory editing on Bedrock Edition, you can get a functioning steve spawn egg. The texture is based on the steve model in the default resource pack, and the entity does not move and has 20 health.
Possibly related, but the change logs stating “Removed Herobrine” was a running gag to masquerade the removal of bits and pieces of the old “Human” mob from the Indev days.
@@fluorideinthechat7606 Yup but it also lived on in the beta days as essentially just a weaker zombie, but in beta 1.8 it couldn't be hacked in anymore and in 1.8 the remaining code of it was removed. minecraft.gamepedia.com/Human#:~:text=Human%20mobs%20would%20generate%20in%20random%20places%20when,otherwise%20were%20not%20available%20in%20vanilla%20Minecraft%20.

For the herobrine part, you forgot to mention the update where they “removed herobrines house” which was a house that generated on top of the nether roof that you could only access through glitching up there
You should have a look into “illegal accounts” where basically an account slips past mojang’s rules. My switch account called Switchman! Is immune to all commands in Minecraft because it has an “!” In it, and the only reason it’s actually in the game is because it was allowed by Nintendo, not Mojang.
13:09 I once playing bedrock on older versions encountered a weird glitch that would put me in spectator-like state. I would basically be able to go trough blocks, I could break things and place but I couldn't access any UIs, when I encountered some mobs it turned out that they noticed my presence, on top af all that I was in survival... to this day I have no idea how did this happen but it might be the GM4
basically the credits to Minecraft tells a story about sleeping, how we aint in a reality, we have to awake. Also when a character is dying he respawn on his bed, i think its interesting
17:00 earlier builds of pocket edition had a spawn egg for the player, this could br obtained by modifying NBT data to give yourself invalid items. The egg wouldnt actually render the model of the player but it would take damage and could be pushed around like a real player. I don't have anything to back this up aside from the fact I know that I spawned it in at some point.

There has to be more obscure things to add.
My hope is that more interesting things are going to show up, especially since Minecraft is having a renaissance of sorts.

the evokers "Wololo" is a reference to a different game. in that game there is a wizard which can covert enemy troops to his side. when he does so he says "wololo" the sides are colour coded red and blue. when the evoker makes the wololo spell he turns blue sheep red.

17:35 actually the steve spawn egg did exist, although I believe the steve mob it spawned was simply called called "monster"
the mob itself was removed in 1.6, but the spawn egg could be given with commands up to at least 1.7 (thats the last I remember seeing it, it likely existed past that but has been removed since then). It was a colorless egg which did nothing, but in 1.6 and prior it would spawn the steve mob from those early alpha versions

Honestly the credits have plagued me since the first time I ever beat MC. Ive always wished they added more lore to the game to expand upon this and make Minecraft a bit more fleshed out
Heard it was a conversation of 2 gods who were watching Steve's journey
Considering the talk about "higher levels" and the astronomy of Minecraft, it is either telling you to go outside, as someone else said, or it could lead to a theory that Minecraft is a simulation for the character to live in.
The Evoker audio is “Wololo” which is a reference to the RTS Age of Empires (1997), where a priest unit could convert an enemy unit with his chant “Wololo” where the enemy would respond “Narwini” it might be a direct rip but I don’t know.
The sound is featured somewhere in Henry stickmin aswell
