Should have seen it at the height of covid. There was so many people and so many tents you couldn’t even walk down a good portion of the sidewalk. They’ve broken up the tent cities and a lot of the mentally ill/drug addicted have spread out to other towns around the lower mainland.

Unfortunately what most outside of Canada don't know is that drugs are legal in Vancouver. Hastings St is middle of the poorest part of the city and so most homeless. They, drug addict and homeless, travel across Canada to get to Hastings for the warmer weather and drug culture. I personally have lost three friends to Hastings St. We try and try to get them home again but.... Hastings calls them back.😢😢😢

So it's party central is it? It looks to me like people using drugs to try to ease the suffering from being homeless. The reason Pollievre and others focus on the drug use is to demonize the homeless so that people will be eager to lock them up in private prisons and have them work for free like they do in the US. If people didn't want homelessness they shouldn't have voted to destroy the safety net we once had when there was almost no homelessness in Canada. This is a result of conservatives getting votes by promising to :"kick those lazy bums off welfare." People who never used to vote loved the idea of hurting people by voting. The cheapest solution is to restore the social safety net but people reject that outright, while having no problem spending ten times that amount to lock them up. Pandering to cruelty and cowardice, the main character traits of the right wing, caused this problem. Some Canadians just long to turn Canada into America, mainly because they are immoral and stupid.

Last time I was down there I was walking from Roger’s arena to Save On Meats and I was offered a three pack of T-bone steaks for $3 and numerous pairs of mismatched socks for an undetermined price. I got my Save On Meats and headed back and there was really no issue. The average civilian is pretty safe down there but there is the threat of being the victim of someone’s psychotic attack… and that threat goes for numerous places throughout the lower mainland and bc.

I pulled into Domino's parking lot 2 weeks ago 5min from there, on Dundas st. There was a guy completely folded over with his pants down completely bare ass, with one of those large wheeling garbage cans beside him, with tons of wires all over the parking lot, like he got to high to strip the wires instead. What a scene, then of course he puts on an angry scene when I told him off about it and made him pick it all up. He could've got hurt the way he was talking. Ya I feel sorry for a lot of them and a lot of them are nice, but I won't tolerate that in my neighborhood either and I won't hesitate to be aggressive about it, when kids might be around, like that time very soon after. Just saying.
