Now the pain has grown to take over the whole city.... I was down there in Nov23 Couldn't believe how many vaca storefronts with for lease signs. The pain is the canary in the cole mine... Foreshadowing the poverty that is looming for us all under these fiscally corrupt govs.

Vancouver , BC where I lived since 1972 - I used to work underground mining for 8+ months and then take the summer off and play golf and have fun - Our weather is among
the best in Canada - not to Hot in the summer but lots of rain in the winter - We have a huge homeless population of around 5000 as housing and rent is off the charts -
1 bedroom is $2000 if you can find one ? Western Canada we have all this vacant land - build more roads and railways to the Far North - then more infrastructure with
more town and cities to follow - We are so huge we could house and feed 1 Billion People but first we need new Leadership = MAKE CANADA GREAT AGAIN !

garbage homeless is because of drugs and alcohol which could and should have been dealt with by arresting, charging and sending to jail to help them get a start at life instead of encouraging this. Stop making excuses this is a choice and it should be handled as such the time in jail will give them time to think about getting things right

The nostalgia of the Canada that I grew up in in the 80s and 90s hits hard when walking down the streets of today. 38 years of life, the degradation has occurred in the last nine years is astonishing. The safe, clean streets of my childhood, are long gone. Tents are popping up everywhere, more Canadians use the food banks than ever before, our housing is unaffordable, yet we have millions to send over in foreign aid when our streets look worse than theirs. Those who believe that Justin and the liberal party have been good to us are delusional. It’s time to vote them out. Enough is enough.

@@nobrainsnoheadache2434 So, the carbon tax was a decrease with the rebate? And...
the government simultaneously eliminated several tax credits including the children’s fitness tax credit, children’s arts tax credit, public transit tax credits, education and textbook tax credits, and the income-splitting tax credit for couples with young children. While eliminating these tax credits helps simplify the tax system, which is good, it also acts to increase personal income taxes for Canadian families.
A recent study compared the savings from the lower personal income tax rate against the loss of these tax credits based on a model provided by Statistics Canada. The primary finding was that the elimination of these tax credits resulted in higher personal income taxes for most Canadian families. In fact, when you compare the value of the government’s tax rate reduction with the loss of tax credits (between 2015 and 2019), 86 per cent of middle-class families (with household incomes between $84,625 and $118,007) experienced an increase in their federal personal income tax burden. In other words, nearly nine in 10 middle-class families now pay more-in fact, the average federal income tax increase for this group of middle-income families was $800 annually.
Now I'll go give that rebate pittance to PP.

No folks, do not adjust your set! Though this might seem like an episode of 'The Walking Dead', it is merely just a typical day on Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. But what it also is, is the net result of a city's(and a province's) lenient attitude towards homelessness and drug use. Things recently reached a climax when the provincial government decided to reverse its disastrous policy of decriminalizing street drug use in public. Though the downtown Eastside has been like this for decades, things seem to have really taken a nosedive since the legalization policy came into existence. I'm not sure what the answer is, and clearly neither do the politicians. I suspect it might involve a zero policy towards homelessness and street drug use as they have in Finland.

They'll jump you like a pack of wolves,
They are not sweet, but cruel and mean.

if anyone is wondering, Vancouver, due to its position on earth earth experiences more gravitational force than other parts of the earth, walking bent over is not due to tweaking or drugs but, the effects of this force. Some people, over time, can negate this effect, but a few cannot. The More You Know.

Как хорошо, что я живу в России! В моём городе, слава богу, такой ужас не встретишь. Да и нигде у нас в России -в городах я подобное зрелище не встречала.

What shocks me the most is the fact that this is the norm and accepted. All those people....of all ages basically given up on life. What kind of society do we live in where this exist. How can anyone watch this video and not feel the deterioration of society as a whole? Shame on the Canadian government for this mess.
